Derek walked aimlessly round his office. Brian had been gone for quite a while and he was impatient. He kept on looking at his watch as time passed.
"Damn it Brian, why are you taking so much time?," He asked himself as he kicked his chair.
"If she is the reporter that they are targeting, she is going to be in a lot of trouble," Derek said to himself but became self conscious as he heard voices from outside.
"Good afternoon boss," Brian said as he walked into the office.he was the one talking outside before.
"Welcome back Brian, you took a hell lot of time. I have been waiting for you to come with the reports. I hope you have got something good for me," Derek asked as he noticed Brian was holding a file.
"Yes sir, I have the all the information we need on the reporter. Her name is Jocelyn Lance and she is one of the best reporters in oakcoast. Her main targets are corrupt businesses and their owners, she is currently investigating the Michigans and I am very sure that is why they want her dead. here is a picture of her," Brian said as he brought out a picture of her and Derek eyes widened.
"It is her," Derek muttered underneath his breath but Brian heard him.
"Do you know her boss?," Brian asked, looking surprised, he was always with Derek and had never seen her around him before so he wondered how he knew her.
"We cannot let anything happen to her," Derek said with his gaze still fixed on her picture.
"I don't mean to pry Sir but doing that might cause trouble between us and the Michigans and I am sure you do not want that to happen Sir,' Brian replied, still very surprised at his boss' sudden interest in her.
"I do not care about them, moreover they do not have to know we did it. She and her entire family needs to be protected," Derek said trying to think of his next plan.
"Okay boss, what is our first course of action?," Brian asked awaiting his reply.
"Can you get her here?I need to speak with her one on one about this," Derek replied, surprising Brian.
"You want to meet her boss," Brian asked surprised by his words.
"It is not going to be our first time meeting so bring her here and do it quickly," Derek said almost in a yell.
"Okay boss, I will do just that," Brian replied, still confused about everything.

Jocelyn sat in her room reading. She was going through some paperwork, she was trying to put some pieces together on the Michigans' case.
"These guys think they are smart, but I will show them that I am smarter," she said to herself as she went through the papers she was holding.
"Got it, There is no such thing as a perfect crime.With this information, I can put Mr Brown Michigan in prison forever," she muttered happily but was interrupted by a knock on her door.
"Come in," she yelled aloud and Laurel came in smiling.
"You have a call downstairs from a company big sis," Laurel said with a smile.
"Company? why would they call me?," Jocelyn asked, surprised by her little sister's words.
"I don't know, perhaps you should come down and find out," Laurel said as she moved towards her bed.
"Okay Laurel, I will be right back,"she replied as she stood up and started walking towards the door, suddenly she stopped and turned back.
"One more thing Laurel, please do not touch any of my stuff," she warned with a serious face.
"Okay big sister, I will not touch your stuff," Laurel replied with a smile and she turned to leave.
Jocelyn walked downstairs and went straight to the telephone and surprisingly it rang as she was about to touch it.
"Jocelyn Lance, how may I be of help to you?," She asked the caller on the other side of the phone.
"You need me in the DW group of companies right now? why is that?," She questioned further, still confused about the call.
"Wow, Derek Walker wants to have an interview with me. of course I will be there shortly," she replied with a smile.
"Thank you very much for the call. I Will be there shortly,"Jocelyn said as she dropped the phone happily.
"Why are you smiling, big sis?," Mirabel asked as she saw her smiling.
"I have just been invited to the DW group of companies to have a personal interview with Derek Walker. I still can't believe how this is happening," she answered excitedly.
"Wow,that is really a big deal. Derek Walker is the most successful young businessman in oakcoast, His reputation precedes him. He has been known to always keep a low profile and live a private life so I am surprised he wants to have an interview with you sister, anyway it is a big win for you," Mirabel said smiling as she noticed how excited her big sister was.
"This is going to be big Mirabel,I have heard a lot about him and now I finally get to have an interview with him.This is a dream come through," Jocelyn replied happily.
"Yes big sis, I heard he is very handsome and single too so please come back with a positive report," Mirabel said with a wink.
"Oh no Mirabel, This is strictly business and nothing more. oh no I need to be there in an hour and I don't know what to wear, I need to look very formal for this or what do you think Mirabel?," she asked confused and Mirabel smiled.
"Calm down sister, I know the perfect dress you need and we can do something quick about your hair so let's hurry upstairs and get it all done," Mirabel said and the two ran upstairs excitedly.

Brian walked into Derek's office and was surprised to see Derek caught up in thoughts without recognising his presence for the first time of their meeting. He wondered why Derek was so interested in saving the reporter, he had a lot of questions going on around his mind and he became more confused.
"She will be here shortly boss," he said, jerking Derek back to reality.
"How did she take my invitation Brian?," He asked, curious to know his response.
"She took it rather well sir, she was so excited to meet you in person and I am very sure she will be here soon," Brian replied, still confused about the whole thing.
"You know what Brian, I need you to go pick her up.I don't want anyone to trace her here, so I need you to bring her here your way, I know you understand what I mean by your way," he asked Brian who was taken aback by what he said.
"Yes sir, I understand what you mean. We will come in through the back door," Brian replied with a nod.
"Bless you Brian, now go and bring her here safely," Derek said and Brian turned to leave,bhe watched him leave and he knew a lot would be going through his mind.
