Amare's words startled him. It was as if she was narrating a fiction she had invented, yet he knew that wasn't the case. She was telling the truth. But it being the truth meant that he had underestimated the impacts of Gigabrain. He thought he would be able to resurrect everybody when the time came, but it didn't sound like the time ever did come.
"Why didn't Gigabrain deactivate when my metaphysical stamina depleted?" Rui wondered aloud with an engrossed tone. "That should have been a hard reset that would have allowed me to snap out of it. That was what I was relying on, in fact. The fact that Gigabrain would not pass on to my reincarnated vessel."
She shook her head. "…Your Gigabrain self didn't need a vessel. I don't know what you did, but you somehow managed to figure out how to replenish your phenomenological stamina indefinitely. That allowed you to use the power of Transcendence without limit. And that was what made you a menace."
