Thursday, 8:30 a.m.
Noah's mother rings his doorbell but to drop Ashley to her office for an early meeting, Noah had left early too. Her mother had password to his house and so she entered. She didn't tell him as she planned to surprise him. His father was barely here. He spent maximum time away from home for his business trips. But, for some family bonding and a relative's death rituals, he also had to come back and was going to come by the afternoon. Noah's mother planned a dinner for the three of them together. After buying the vegetables, Noah's mother prepared everything for the dinner before hand and went on with cleaning the room, washing clothes for him, and buying new covers for him too along with a few other toiletries. Then, she took a nap, ate lunch, freshened up, dressed up a little and till then, her husband came there too. The had a sweet re-union too. He brought her favorite bouquet and a dessert for her. He gifted her a necklace and shoes. He bought perfume, watch and tie for his only son too. As for Noah's younger sister-Esther, she was away on a study tour and so couldn't join them.
1:26 p.m.
Noah's mother (Mrs. Smith): Hello dear hubby! Finally, this feels so good (falling into his arms, hugging him tight) How was your trip? Did you eat?
Noah's father (Mr. Smith): Yes dear wifey. What about you?
Mrs. Smith: Yes. Let's wait for our son now. He'll probably come home a bit late. Let's have a small candle light snack over a movie? Then, we can enjoy the dinner all together! (squeals out of excitement, showing off the dimples in her sweet smile)
Mr. Smith: Sure, I'll freshen up. I want to look gorgeous enough to standing beside you, my lady! (bowing and kissing his wife's hand like king loving his queen)
7:58 p.m.
When they were enjoying the movie and pop-corn, suddenly, the door lock opened and Noah asked Ashley to sleep early so that they can go for a run tomorrow morning, unaware that his parents were right in front of him. With a curious and confused face, both of them heard a female voice and froze in astonishment, not expecting Noah to know a girl.
Mr. Smith: Who's she?
Mrs. Smith: (hits Conor's arm lightly,..) Noah! My child!!! Come here! Missed you so much.. (hugs him)
Noah somehow managed to not let his tongue slip in front of his parents, especially his dad. He, honestly, was bit afraid of his strict dad.
At night, he wanted to call Ashley and talk to her for a while but was afraid that his parents would catch him in the act. He somehow whispered in an audio message, compromising by looking at Ashley's face in pictures itself.
9:49 p.m.
Hollice: (knocks on the door) Noah, I warmed a glass of milk for you.
Noah quickly hides his phone and goes over to let her mom in.
Noah: Thanks mom. You can relax now. Don't always work so much. Let's talk tomorrow? I'll apply for a holiday so that we can visit our relatives too.
(in mind: oh crap, this reminded me about my schedule. We have to leave early so that we can catch the train on time..I forgot to tell about it to Ashley. I think, I f**ked up again...I'm dead this time...😅😱😧)
Hollice: Ok dear. I'll tell your father about it too. Although, we can go on Saturday too..
Noah: Oh no mom, I have some meetings even on these weekends, so..I'm sorry, I won't be able to spend much time with y'all either. Maybe when Ruth also joins us?
Hollice: Don't apologize. It's our fault. We didn't consider about your busy schedule. We were too eager to see you, son and wanted to surprise you too. No problem. We can spend more time sometime else then. Good night. Sleep soon, don't stay up all night using your mobile phone.
Noah: (pushing her out playfully to stop her from nagging him anymore_) Yes mom.
Hollice: Wait. By the way, who was she?
Noah: What are you talking about? Go sleep. Let's talk later. I'm tired (faking a yawn)
Hollice: Ok, Ok. Good night!
Noah closes the door behind him and breathes out a sigh of relief. Then, he just clears his mind and goes to sleep. (forgetting again, about dropping a message about the situation to Ashley)
