Once the majority of the pirates were gone, the galleon was mostly silent. Standing on the weather deck, Jake could sense who was where. He could even hear their voices if he focused.
At the moment, two pirate girls were pacing near the bow, keeping an eye on the anchor line. One was up at the crow's nest, watching around the dock. She also paid attention to the man strolling below.
One was refilling the gunpowder in the flasks of the upper gundeck's cannons, another was scrubbing the floor.
There was also someone in the orlop deck galley, boiling water while humming a tune. As for the remaining two, they were on the deck watch.
"Rebecca, look…" One of the patrolling pirates nudged the other while discreetly glancing at Jake.
"It's him, the demon…" The pirate girl called Rebecca whispered back, surprised.
"Shhh…" Maria put a finger across her luscious lips and pulled Rebecca, walking toward the quarterdeck.
