When Victor went back, Polly had already been discharged from the hospital.
Upon returning home, Victor saw Mrs. Lewis hesitate to speak but finally said nothing, indicating it was Polly's wish.
Victor returned to the room where Polly was still resting. Her face was still pale, as if she had just been sick, and a cup filled with warm water was placed on the table.
Perhaps from an uneasy sleep or discomfort, Polly woke up soon after Victor sat down.
"Back already?" Polly's voice, freshly awoken, was soft.
Victor responded affirmatively, helped her sit up to lean against his shoulder, and handed her the cup, "The water is still warm, drink some."
Polly drank from the cup in Victor's hand, "Since you're back, take a shower and rest well. Go see the two of them tomorrow morning."
Polly glanced at the time as she spoke, it was half-past nine in the evening. She guessed the two children were asleep, they had been very obedient during her discomfort and went to bed on time.
