Xylia had no idea what Aciel was planning.

"Nothing will change," he replied calmly. "You'll continue living in luxury and keep your current lifestyle. As Xylia's family, you'll be under the protection of the De Silva Clan."
He paused briefly.
"As part of our tradition, every family tied to our clan must attend the gathering in Southford every Wednesday. Other than that, you simply have to report everything to us."
Victoria's expression immediately changed.
Meanwhile, her grandfather remained silent, clearly calculating the benefits of Aciel's offer.
"And in return?" he finally asked. "Nothing is free in our world. What exactly do you want?"
