"Good night."
Aciel smiled at her.
Xylia nodded.
"You too."
Her heart refused to calm down.
It was beating so fast she thought it might burst out of her chest.
A small part of her had expected Aciel to do more than simply kiss her.
The realization made her cheeks burn.
"Ouch!"
She rubbed her forehead and glared at him.
"What was that for?"
Aciel smirked after flicking her forehead.
"You're thinking about something."
"W-What? No, I'm not!"
He laughed softly.
"You're a terrible liar."
Her face grew even redder.
Aciel shook his head.
"Trust me, I want to do a lot more than kiss you right now."
Xylia's eyes widened.
"But I'm trying not to."
His expression softened.
"You're not ready yet, and I don't want our first time to happen because I couldn't control myself."
Her heart skipped a beat.
She appreciated that more than she could put into words.
Maybe part of her had expected something more tonight.
But deep down, she knew she wasn't ready.
