Rune's eyes widened when he saw the darkness rise up, and he yelled in a panicked voice.
"Protect yourself Shiro, don't hold back!!"
At the same time, he raised his Body Activation as high to its limit while creating a triple layered barrier dome around them both. A three-layered defense was the most he could do with his level of understanding. His barriers, although strong, were still a borrowed power.
Shiro did not stand idly by either. Rune's words served to snap her out of the state of fear that had left her momentarily paralyzed just a short while ago. She drew both her magic pistols and pointed them outside the barrier. The barrels of each were glowing with bright shade of purple-black energy.
This was the sign that she was getting ready to fire her most powerful attack. Though, this time, she intended to execute it a little differently.
