The remnants of the Ice Emerald Sect had plenty of them, and even some at the late stage.
Ma Ling had to grow strong enough to face those dangers, and the Luminous Gentle Tide Scripture was her best bet. Not only would it let her cultivate faster, with better results at half the effort, owing to her physique and the art's nature, but the art itself, along with Yang Qing's assistance, would give her a particular advantage if she ever faced off against remnants of the Ice Emerald Sect.
Yang Qing didn't know much about the art the Ice Emerald Sect used, beyond the fact that it was part of the Frozen Serenity Scripture and the type of Qi it produced when executed.
Of the various arts tied to the Frozen Serenity Scripture that Yang Qing had come across, he had discovered that each used a different type of Yin Qi, and the one the Ice Emerald Sect owned used Frigid Earth Yin Qi.
