*Leo*
I had never felt this level of determination before.
My hand screamed with pain from where I broke it to get out of the cuffs but it seemed to dull as I pictured Bianca going into labor without me at her side.
I needed to be there. I would give anything, do anything to be at her side.
“Here, Leo,” Maria said in a low voice.
I hurried over to where she was braced against the gate of our cell. She was pushing her hands against the lock as if feeling for something. I watched in complete amazement as she pressed against it hard before giving it a swift kick. I heard something inside of the mechanism snap and my sister calmly pushed the gate open.
I didn’t have time to ask her how she was able to do that before we heard yelling from above us.
“Brace yourself,” I warned Maria, quickly stepping out of the gate and grabbing a nearby chair to use as a weapon.
