Third Person POV
Konoha, 43.
...
...
"You know, it's kind of unusual for the teacher to have approached us at the end of class... And now we're going to his house...", Rin couldn't help but murmur.
They were walking toward the house set apart from the center of the village, where the Namikaze property was located, after Minato had simply given them a map of the village, pointing out where his house was, since they had never been there.
Hearing Rin's comment, Obito simply shrugged. "I don't know. The teacher is very kind to us, why are you surprised? Maybe he sees talent in us," Obito said proudly.
But Rin didn't seem convinced. "It's still strange. There are people more talented than us in the class, and he has never invited anyone. Why all this attention?", she was still suspicious.
"Anyway, here we are walking all the way to his house... He could have just teleported us there, right?", Obito muttered, looking up at the sky as he placed his hands behind his head and sighed.
They had to cross the entire village on foot. Minato had simply said he would see them there, handed them the map, informed them they were invited to lunch, and disappeared using the Hiraishin.
Obito, still envious of the teleportation jutsu, couldn't help but glance at his friend, still a little cautious, and broke the silence.
"Hey, relax. Remember when he first appeared in the classroom? Everyone went into euphoria. The strongest ninja in the world teaching our class!! Who could imagine something like that? It's still fun to see the jealous look on the other classes' faces while we have Minato Namikaze as our teacher." Obito began to recall, excited.
It was certainly a surprise for everyone when Minato Namikaze appeared in the classroom and said he would replace the sick teacher for the next few weeks, until they completed their training.
Minato proved to be a very different teacher from what they were used to. First, he was much more intelligent and understood very well the concepts they usually studied. But he went further: he began to focus on chakra manipulation in all the students.
First, redoing the training they had already gone through, with the leaves concentrated on their foreheads. That was the training Minato adopted in the first week. They had never done so much chakra manipulation training before, but Minato insisted on it.
Minato had cut all the classes and training with the basic jutsus and even part of the History of Konoha lessons just to make them learn to improve their chakra manipulation.
It was a bit tedious, but it was worth it.
Minato saw the class growing discouraged with the somewhat repetitive exercise, but he quickly encouraged the children by performing some of his jutsus, such as the Rasengan itself; he manifested the ball of pure chakra, making it grow so large that it overshadowed the daylight coming from the windows and almost touched the classroom ceiling.
Everyone would be stunned at the sight of that display of chakra spinning in a sphere several meters in diameter. It left a lasting memory in the minds of those children.
Minato said that was a manipulation of chakra he had achieved through his mastery and control of chakra, creating a technique of pure chakra.
That had left the entire class euphoric in the next moment, and the training yielded much more. The children kept practicing inside and outside the Academy with the leaves.
Then came the training with the tree. Minato taught them how to climb vertical surfaces, which resulted in two whole weeks of practice, until the entire class had at least some notion of chakra manipulation.
Some were unable to complete the task, while others succeeded, but Minato said their chakra flow was already much better. This also became evident when they tried to perform the basic techniques, executing them with far greater excellence.
So his next step was to start distributing test papers to discover each person's element. After that, he handed out D-rank jutsu scrolls for free.
He asked them to choose a training location to practice, but also to be careful not to get hurt, preferably training in pairs or under the supervision of an adult.
During the classes, Minato did not focus only on chakra training. He also revealed some things about the Second Great Ninja War that no one knew, speaking about the battlefields — but in a limited way, so as not to traumatize the children too much.
Even so, he made it very clear that war was no joke. He said he had lost important people, that he had seen children die in front of him, and that he would not send anyone incapable to the battlefield. He did not want children in war.
That left some frustrated, as they sought glory, fame, and power in a war, even if they might wager their lives, while others silently gave thanks. They did not want to go to such a place in pursuit of that glory, using Minato as a model just because he had made his name in the Second Great Ninja War. They only wanted the chance to live in peace, carrying out their missions here and there.
"Hey, why are you so cautious?", Obito insisted once again. "You know that all those kunoichis you keep saying you want to be like along with the other girls must be in that house, right? Don't you keep saying you'd like to be like the Senju princess or like Kushina-sama, Mikoto-sama...", Obito said, making Rin blush slightly in embarrassment.
She couldn't help but think about it and nodded. Wasn't this a chance to see up close the kunoichis she admired so much? Not only because of the battles of the 4 nations against the Uzumakis, but also because they had already made their names in the Second Great Ninja War and fought against the regime of the two elders who abused their power in the village.
These events caused all of Minato's girls to be recognized. What girl of the generation of those two did not wish to become a kunoichi like the three who stood out the most? Hanabi was also famous, but not as much as they were, since she had not yet had the opportunity to display her current feared ocular power.
They finally found the property after walking together for a while. The sound of Obito's stomach growling echoed at that moment, making Rin laugh.
"Damn! Why did Minato-sensei have to live so far away?", he complained. "Isn't he a powerful and influential figure? Why did he move so far from the center of the village, when the greatest clans are all gathered there?" Obito couldn't help but mutter as he looked at the large gate before them.
There were no more houses in that area. There were only a few training fields nearby, showing how far removed Minato-sensei's residence was.
"But I have to admit… the place is very beautiful," Rin commented, observing the well-structured Japanese castle with forests all around it.
Even Obito nodded at that sight. "It's really impressive," he agreed.
Thus, they followed to the agreed gate.
Minato suddenly reappeared in front of them, making the two jump in fright, while Obito fell backward screaming.
"Hey, hey, calm down. It's just me." Minato crossed his arms in front of the two children. Rin seemed cautious, while Obito hurriedly got back up.
"Professor! How can you just appear like that?", he complained, rubbing his back.
"Well, it's my gate. Obviously there's a seal of my jutsu hidden here," Minato shrugged and pointed ahead. "Come on. My wife prepared lunch for us. That's why I came ahead, I needed to let her know about the extra guests at the table."
Minato said that naturally. He would have invited Kakashi as well, but he did not find him in the village, so he was probably on some mission.
Obito seemed more at ease upon hearing about food. Thinking of his own stomach, he quickly finished getting up and moved through the gate Minato opened.
Rin followed him, still quite cautious. The teacher was being extremely friendly with them. They were not that important, nor did they have influential parents. Obito was an orphan raised by his grandmother and somewhat rejected by the clan.
Rin came from a civilian family and was certain her parents did not even personally know Minato Namikaze.
Minato led them to the entrance, opened the door, and guided them to the kitchen. There they found two women: one sitting at the table reading scrolls, and the other finishing the cooking, since the table was practically set.
The redhead who was in the kitchen looked back and smiled. "Ah, you came back with company, Minato. So these are your two students?" She walked toward them, looking at the children with a determined and warm smile.
"You're Kushina Uzumaki... I mean, Namikaze, now?", Obito said hurriedly, surprised by Kushina's approach.
Even Rin couldn't help but show a look of admiration toward the red-haired kunoichi, considered perhaps one of the most powerful in the ninja world, being the perfect jinchūriki of the Nine-Tails and someone who had fought against other bijūs. And now, she was wearing an apron like an ordinary housewife, a very strange sight for someone like her.
"Yes, I am Kushina 'Namikaze'!", she emphasized the surname, but kept her friendly smile. "When Minato said he was bringing two students from his class, I was surprised. My husband has never done that before. So you must be super strong!" Kushina said that excitedly. Even Hanabi stopped reading, looking at the scene.
Rin felt embarrassed. She certainly was nothing like that, nor was she the strongest girl in the class.
Obito, on the other hand, took on a proud posture, adjusting his goggles and flashing a wide smile.
"Of course we are! After all, I am Obito Uchiha, the most powerful ninja who has ever existed!" Rin looked at him, shocked.
'The most powerful ninja who has ever existed? You're just an Academy student...', Rin wanted to shout, but she didn't dare say that in front of Kushina.
But the redhead simply stared at him for a second before bursting into laughter. "That was unexpected, dattebane!"
She laughed to the point of letting out her characteristic and distorted giggle, making the children step back a little. Kushina was quite loud when she laughed at something she truly found funny.
Minato, for a second, foresaw the future and immediately covered Obito's mouth.
"Hmmmm?!" Obito groaned in surprise.
He was about to say something that would offend Minato's wife, who was sensitive about her own laugh — and someone commenting on that was the perfect recipe to awaken the "Red Hot Habanero of Konoha".
It was better to prevent Obito from fainting from a punch. Even if Kushina had no intention of causing so much damage, she was far too strong. She could easily knock him out on impulse right there in a fit of anger, which would make everything even more embarrassing.
"Well... how about we eat?", Minato suggested with a slightly forced smile, while Kushina stopped laughing and nodded happily, unaware of what Obito had been about to say and how it might have provoked her anger.
Not even Minato's other wives dared to mock Kushina's laugh. They knew very well that there was a beast there.
In the end, Minato released Obito, who was finally able to breathe, and everyone sat at the table. Rin still seemed a little shy, as always. Obito, on the other hand, was quite extravagant and began praising the food before even finishing chewing.
"I'm a great cook, dattebane!", Kushina said proudly, waiting for Minato's approval.
He nodded. "Of course you are. I love your cooking, my love." Minato spoke in a satisfied tone.
Kushina opened a satisfied smile. "Well, if you think my food is good, you have to see Minato's. It's no wonder he managed to win over so many wives. He makes food that would make any woman fall in love. I'd say it's at least ten times... no, a hundred times tastier than what you're eating!" She said that euphorically.
"Really? He's some kind of cook?" Obito muttered, clearly uncomfortable with that information. The image he had idealized of Minato as a fearless ninja seemed to suffer a small crack at the thought of him wearing an apron.
Minato noticed this from the boy's expression and, seeing it with his observation haki, felt like giving him a light tap on the head to teach him a bit of etiquette.
"So, Kushina-sama, what have you been doing lately?", Rin asked curiously.
"Ah, I go every morning to the village's defense and sealing sector. I also visit the Uzumaki clan. In the afternoon, I take care of our home.", Kushina replied.
"And Lady Mikoto-sama...?", Obito asked as well, curious to meet the most powerful living Uchiha. "I always hear about it when she's at the clan, since everyone comments on it." He murmured with some curiosity.
"Yes, she's at her clan with our son, visiting her father and staying for lunch. If you'd like, maybe you can meet her later as well. But let's keep eating. After all, after lunch we're going to start your training, so don't fill your stomach too much," Minato said.
The two were surprised.
In the end, they finished eating, and Minato led them to the training field within the property itself — a space exclusive to his family.
The place was full of roots and the ground completely destroyed. The children couldn't help but feel a chill at the sight.
This was the field where Tsuna used to train using Mokuton, hence the chaos.
But that wasn't the only place they trained, after all their training could destroy the village itself with the current strength of each of them. When he truly needed to train with his wives and use the full potential of their powers, he borrowed Kurama's chakra through Kushina and teleported practically to the other side of the world.
It was in the same region where Minato used to train with them when they were living on the floating island of Uzushiogakure — a place no one in the ninja world had access to.
There, it was isolated and they could test their powers and get used to them without leaving the entire world in panic.
