Hearing Linda's words, Charles nodded and said nothing more. Anything he said now would be useless; all he could do was wait.
In this pitch-black, oppressive sea, there was nothing he could do, not even pray to God.
If there was no response, it would just be for his own peace of mind, which was fine. But if there was an actual response, that would be a huge problem.
Just then, Plang the chef came over with a plate full of food and placed it in front of Charles.
Charles stuffed the bread into his fish soup and, while eating, asked, "Apart from his three wives, does Feierbahah have anyone else at home?"
Linda looked at her Captain with some surprise. "Three wives? He doesn't have that many."
Charles, who was chewing, paused. He quickly realized he was thinking of something else. "I must have misremembered. Do you know about Feierbahah's family?"
"Feierbahah has a child, though I'm not sure with whom. The kid's a bit slow.
