Chapter 183 - True Self

Here's The Extra Chapter!

---

Just like I promised, I brought Morgan with me to the shop, and I was half expecting the establishment to reject her entry.

But it didn't, which means any summoned servant I have would be able to enter the shop without any restrictions.

Isn't this basically an infinite money glitch?

Since they could enter, which means they could potentially become customers, and the things they can exchange aren't cheap at all.

Especially if they go all out, like directly selling their Noble Phantasm from their heroic spirit counter.

(A/N: Just so you know, a servant and a heroic spirit are two separate things; some people have no idea about this. Servants are essentially just an inferior bootleg version of their true heroic spirit counterparts, unlike servants who are just a copy of the real thing and restricted to a single class; heroic spirits, on the other hand, don't have those kinds of limitations, therefore several times stronger than their servant counterparts.)

Morgan was fascinated by this place; while she could feel her prana, she couldn't use it here.

No matter how much she tried, it was useless.

"What a curious place." Morgan didn't bother to hide her excitement.

"Just a warning: don't randomly touch things; who knows, it might kill you." Of course I was joking; there's no way I'd allow anything dangerous to be on display.

Especially when Ymir was hired, for her sake I already changed the items on the shelves that could potentially harm her.

Even if I didn't, Emiya would surely insist on removing those dangerous hazards, so the only 'dangerous' thing that was left was basically Excalibur, but that's relative, as the sword itself isn't dangerous unless you deliberately harm yourself with it.

Morgan stared at me with her cold blue eyes and said. "Husband, do I look that stupid in your eyes?"

"No, I said it out of concern." I gave her an innocent smile.

Morgan stared at me for a while and decided it was not worth fighting over; just because her class is berserker doesn't mean she's stupid like her class namesake.

First and foremost, she's a queen; she knows how to read a thing or two about facial expressions.

And knew her husband was being sarcastic; normally, she'd teach him a lesson, but right now it was the last thing on her mind, as her interest was solely in this establishment.

"Whatever, I think you should show me the products of this shop, as I'm curious if it truly has everything."

This time I didn't joke around; after all, this was a potential customer, servant or not.

She would give me more money.

Then I led her to the chair near the counter and let her sit there.

I showed her the catalog of all things, gaining her full attention.

As she was getting busy with the catalog, suddenly Emiya came out of the kitchen with a tray of snacks in hand, along with his little disciple.

Or should I say his adopted daughter?

Because clearly, this guy treats Ymir like his own child rather than his little helper.

Ymir clearly treats him like her father.

Emiya looked at the counter, and when he saw Morgan's face, he almost spilled the snacks because that face was way too destructive for him.

Even now, after thousands of years, that face still affects him.

Aside from that slight slip, he quickly recovered, as he knew that this woman wasn't the Artoria he was familiar with.

But a variant of saber face; it wasn't the first time he encountered such a thing.

However, this is the first time he saw this variant.

He met Nero, Okita, Jeanne and even Gray.

But this was his first time seeing Morgan, which made him curious, and he asked me about her.

To which I replied, "Oh, that's Morgan."

Hearing this, Emiya was surprised. "Morgan Le Fey? Artoria's half-sister?"

"Yes, but a different version." I didn't really want to explain that complicated rabbit hole, and Emiya seemed to understand and didn't push.

Emiya could only look at Morgan with curiosity; he knew that Arturia and Morgan were sisters, but aren't they too similar?

Like someone just copy-pasted their appearance and called it a day.

"I'll place the snacks here; feel free to eat them." Emiya placed the tray on the counter.

"I will surely eat it." I smiled and started eating the snacks that Emiya made; they were really good, as expected of him.

However, I noticed that Ymir was looking at the snacks on the table with a wronged expression.

Then I realized that this snack was originally for her. Emiya was unaware of our arrival, but since we're already here, Emiya decided that the snack was for us.

I suddenly felt a little bad about eating what was meant for her, but would that stop me?

Hell, no. I even ate it with more gusto than before, making Ymir look like a kicked puppy.

I couldn't stop smiling at this. Emiya didn't fail to see this and couldn't help but shake his head and think to himself how immature his boss was.

"Oi, leave some for that kid."

I rolled my eyes at him and said, "Fine, fine, truly a mother hen."

Then I pushed the rest of the snack closer to Ymir; I had already eaten half.

Seeing that there was something left for her, she eagerly ate the rest like a squirrel.

Morgan, who finally noticed the other people around the place, had her eyes land directly on Emiya upon noticing a familiar aura.

"A servant?"

Emiya quickly denied that. After getting away from Alaya, he was no longer a cheap copy but his whole self; he was the true heroic spirit. "No."

Morgan raised a brow at this and then figured it out. "I see, not the vessel but the heroic spirit itself. How did you manage to escape the throne of heroes?"

Emiya didn't mind, as he had no love toward the throne. "I sold my contract in this shop, thereby freeing myself."

Morgan didn't understand what he meant, so I decided to give him the context of the situation. "He's not a normal heroic spirit; he signed a contract with Alaya, thus allowing him to become one."

Upon hearing that, she understood why he managed to escape the throne of heroes.

For normal servants like her, who got through the throne in the standard way, escaping was almost impossible.

They don't have such a convenient way as terminating a contract.

To do that, they must follow specific conditions before their true selves could descend.

In short, it is extremely complicated and hard.

Still, Morgan wanted to know if she could do the same, because she found the class restrictions bothersome.

She wanted her true self to descend, and it would be no different from true revival.

Morgan checked the catalog for something that could accomplish the same thing as Emiya.

While she didn't have the same convenience as directly selling her contract.

She saw that she could buy her way out of the throne without all of those complicated conditions.

But her credit was insufficient, and she decided to sell every bit of her knowledge that she found unimportant, plus her madness unique to her class.

She suddenly felt better without that double-edged sword; she didn't stop there; she also sold her noble phantasm.

Not the copy, but her true noble phantasm; she didn't regret it for a moment.

Now, she has enough funds to buy freedom; it only cost her about a few million.

And almost immediately, her entire being changed drastically, like evolving to a higher lifeform.

Which isn't exactly a wrong description; now all of the limitations of her servant self disappeared.

The feeling of being incomplete has disappeared, and the missing pieces that she couldn't quite grasp were now within her reach.

All of her memories from her other vessels were inserted directly into her; she is now one.

Even the audience could feel the drastic change in Morgan; she was noticeably stronger than before.

After savoring everything, Morgan finally opened her eyes, and anyone could tell the stark differences between before and after.

Her cold face was noticeably softer, as this was now her true self without the burden of any sort of restrictions.

Then she looked at me for a moment before saying. "Do you still prefer me to call you my husband or just your name?"

If this was her berserker self, she wouldn't ask something like this, as being mad is part of her class, but now that she's whole, she has gained perfect clarity and control, and she doesn't need to call other people husband or retainer.

I let out a smile; after all, she just gave me another few million credits, and naturally I'm very happy with this outcome. It doesn't matter what she calls me.

"Your choice."

Morgan nodded. "Then, I will still call you husband. Although our contract ended thanks to me descending into my true self, I am still willing to follow you."

I shrugged; it doesn't really matter to me, as her contract with me was merely for an experiment.

Therefore, it doesn't really matter if there's a contract or not.

Right now, I want to enhance my abilities. Although I am strong, it's still not enough.

And so I went to the catalog to find something that could make me overpowered.
