while grey fell down the seemingly endless pit scarlet was on the floor coughing so heavily it looked like she would spit up her insides at any moment while zincs spider puppet looked a bit dizzy.
rex saw this she to coughed heavily, she quickly created a mask out of shadows to push the gas away from her face and insides.
zinc immediately came close to rex without opening her spider puppet as the gas would kill her instantly and rex knew that.
so she coated the main body of the puppet where she assumed zinc was in in a shadow armor allowing air in and keeping the gas out.
rex then covered scarlets face in the shadow mask letting her breathing slowly return to normal.
they all looked around the ravine now completely covered in dense yellow gas that seemed to keep rising even after grey fell into a pit.
"mhss oou ou aow" rex tried saying only to get strange looks. it was only now that the three of them realized that without these masks on they couldn't talk to each other but without them they'll suffocate.
rex tried signaling to the other two with her wings to look for a small thing near the pit.
zinc nodded immediately and left to look around the pit before she entered it herself.
it took a few seconds for scarlet to understand the small thing they were looking for was grey the rabbit.
her luck rune highlighted a glowing crystal impeded in the ground, so she picked it up with a strange look on her face before a idea popped into her head.
she soon approached the pit next to rex and watched as zinc climbed down for a bit until the water from the ravine floor falling in was too much for her forcing her to return.
therefore, scarlet tried her idea and tossed the faintly glowing crystal inside the pit as they watched it fall deeper and deeper into the abyss.
earlier as grey felt like he forever a shadow slithering on his back spoke up.
"can't you just fly or jump of cloudsss? jade questioned him like he was an idiot.
grey just leaned back while his limbs dangled in the air while falling.
"I wish i could but that final burst of gas i did before falling made me weak."
"He surprised me so on instinct i used my sound rune while already using my poison rune causing the two energies to fight and explode draining all my remaining energy and damaging my limbs... "you can help me now Right?"
jade slowly coiled around greys body prior to locking eyes with him. "Of Course, i can at the very least soften your fall with my slime body trait."
"Plus, you still owe me cooked frog so don't go dying on me now!"
they shared a smile for a few moments as her body became an emerald slime that protected him from all angles.
after much waiting they finally saw some light before making a loud splat sound that reverberated the cave they seminally entered
grey laid on the ground groaning in pain as jade slowly reformed her body.
"You're so lucky I don't feel pain in this form, otherwise i'd be in more pain than you usually are."
grey chuckled at her words "hey I have a small box filled with purifying drops hidden in my tail mind giving one to me... please?"
jade let out a deep sigh as she approached grey "you know I talked with your mother for a bit and she said your very prone to injury, so she gave me a few potions to heal you."
she wiggled her tail showing off the fully healed tail.
she gently pulled out a green vial from her shadow as she slowly poured it down his throat.
they both watched in amazement as his limbs straightened out looking as good as new like nothing happened.
"Ok let's check the area and make sure it's safe here."
grey scanned the area and didn't sense any other living creature except them.
all that surrounded them in this cave were red crystals that barley gave off any light and weird pink mushrooms.
"don't touch the mushrooms they look dangerous and I can't cure poison without any energy so watch."
jade looked at grey with a deadpan eyes with a look that said a thousand silent words.
"Don't give me that look!"
"What Look?"
"THAT LOOK, see you did it again"
"I don't know what you're talking about... idiot."
"Why is looking out for you a bad thing?"
"Because were both basically resistant to most common poisons so we don't have to worry so much idiot!"
as the two continued to bicker a blue crystal fell from the hole they came from crash landing on a mushroom causing a mist of spores to spread which in turn caused other mushrooms to release a cloud of pink spores.
before the two arguing noticed they were completely surrounded by pink spore and breathing heavily.
"is it just me or is it really hot here?"
The two looked at each other strangely keeping their eyes locked on the other.
They slowly crept closer and closer until they could feel each other's breath directly on their skin sending a jolt of energy through them.
The next moment their shadows seem to have merged into a raw passion of feelings giving no thoughts to species or tribes.
Meanwhile Rex, scarlet and zinc escaped from the ravine and appeared form the gas cloud near the battle zone only to see golo and cocoa were fighting off a silver blur bouncing around the forest and ramming into them.
Scarlet overlooked the two and saw karma, shin and her kin all taking care of runaway frogs in the distance. Letting her exhale a sigh of relief she didn't know she was holding.
Rex saw the danger golo and cocoa was facing and immediately ran to aid them.
The masks of shadows around the three quickly faded as Rex rushed in to support her friends enlarging her entire body until she was the same size as a bear.
Cocoa was taking as many hits as she could in her bear form to protect the really injured golo who had his legs broken and was only standing with stone tentacles that moved at his command albeit slowly.
Before Jim could ram into cocoa with his iron body again a massive but silent claw appeared out of nowhere kicking him into the ground before kicking into the distance when he bounced back up.
Scarlet dashed behind him slamming him back into the ground repeatedly as she kept dashing and slamming on his stomach.
Jim's whole body returned to its normal revealing his unconscious green body once more.
Zinc quickly tied his arms up in metallic strings to keep him in place.
Rex approached golo and cocoa while shadows swirled around one of her wings revealing a potion vial.
"Here take this miss song thought we might need a few healing potions so she gave me Jade and Tony some for the group."
Golo took the potion with a genuine smile plastered on his blood stained face. "Nice lady that one… wait where is grey?"
Rex looked a bit saddened at those words "grey fell in a really deep pit last second due to an enemy attack but jades with him and she had a mirror crystal in her shadow so as soon as they get light or land they should be able to return."
Zinc reshaped her metal spider puppet mech into a silver goblin that gave a silly thumbs up to golo to reassure him.
"You are the most unique snail I've ever met but your both right they'll be fine but until he returns we can't get rid of this poison gas so we'll regroup while we wait. Oh and take that frog with us I owe him a great deal of pain."
When they looked back at where Jim should've been he was gone all that was left was two severed arms still restrained in a bloody mess.
"Crap!" Golo groaned loudly.
Jim used his invisibility trait to disappear from sight as he hopped away with all his might a few times into a random direction before he stopped revealing his pale body after he ran out of energy.
His arms were now stumps covered in metal to block blood flow. His breath was heavy and tired but his gaze never wavered it was still filled with purpose and hate.
He let out a raging roar of anger and pain prior to kicking every tree nearby.
"I'll kill them ALL! I'll get so strong no one will ever dare take what's mine EVER AGAIN!"
Jim was about to hop off again when a deep voice reverberated behind him.
"Do you seek power child?"
Jim quickly whipped around in his usual fighting pose forgetting he had no arms.
What met his gaze was a abyssal black rabbit with turtle shell on its back and deep purple eyes.
"What would you be willing to do for revenge for a chance to make the beings that created this world pay?"
Jim stared at the odd rabbit for a moment before taking a deep breath and speaking "I'll say I'm willing but I also want a chance to bring my tribe back."
The rabbit could obviously tell that Jim was probing his power but didn't call him out.
"Can't bring back the lost as the one called Selena has already taken their souls but if it's just their animated bodies you want I can do that."
Jim shook his head "no, that's not necessary if you can't bring them back then I need a place where the rest of my kin I find can be safe if I'm to help you."
The odd rabbit smiled a grin that shouldn't be possible as it slowly spoke "I have destroyed and consumed countless worlds I also remember one swampy one that tased awful but would be great for your kin, All you have to do is help release me from my prison."
Jim thought about it very carefully "hmm you won't come back to eat that world later would you?"
It's laugh echoed around them for a while before looking at Jim seriously.
"Only a quarter of that world is destroyed after I ate a bit of it but it still functions as a species there is quite similar to your only more toxic and no rune or abilities lives there. All you got to do is conquer that world and bring your kin there."
Jim agreed to the deal unknowingly changing the fate of his whole race.
"Now let's fix you!" It said in a wiked tone only to restrain Jim in black ooze as it slowly entered his body from every angle.
He soon emerged from the ooze a new frog his green skin now dyed black and white while his eyes glowed a low but deep violet.
A few hours later grey awoke atop jades body each of their head facing the others rear in a odd 69 position.
Grey sniffed the air smelling nothing but primal lust all around them.
Jade soon got up too as they stared at each other confusedly before memories of the past few hours hit them like a truck.
"I think we might still be affected and need to keep going?" Grey tried saying but was immediately sacked by jades tail.
"No! You wanna be my mate we do this properly later not in the middle of a active battle." Jade scolded him furiously.
"So that's not a No? Just a later?" Grey said with hopeful eyes like a child promised his favorite candy later.
Jades head heated up but she didn't deny it she quickly pulled a mirror crystal out of her shadow and called for Tony to extract them.
When they arrived they explained they fell in the dark for a while and fell on mushrooms that put them to sleep when they landed.
After making sure they were ok Tony brought them to the group to rest up and recharge.
After grey was mostly recharged he went up to the massive gas cloud he made earlier wondering how to get rid of it.
A idea quickly popped in his head as he remembered golos compressed blood bombs.
Grey soon stared compressing all the smoke into explosive beads.
After almost two hours hours grey cleared out all the poison he made earlier and made nearly four thousand poison beads.
Grey looked around exhaustedly and noticed it was already night.
