"Mr. Fairchild, if anyone's going home, it should be you. You should go back to your own house. This is my and Mom's house," Ian Monroe said, refusing to compromise.
"You'll be late for school tomorrow morning," Evan Fairchild changed tactics.
"I can just wake up earlier."
Evan Fairchild's head started to ache. 'It looks like I'll really have to consider boarding school. I'm serious this time.'
He didn't know what other families were like, but his own childhood certainly hadn't been like Ian's.
'His whole family had revolved around him, and it was unbelievably annoying!'
Ian Monroe was also worried that Mr. Fairchild would get genuinely angry and send him away before his mom got back, preventing them from meeting.
"Mr. Fairchild, how about this? I'll stay tonight, and I'll go back tomorrow night. Once Mom is back, we can take turns, one day each."
Evan Fairchild thought for a moment, then nodded. "Tonight, you sleep by yourself. No clinging to your mother."
