"Ahem!" Mr. Fairchild cleared his throat but didn't join the conversation.
Mrs. Fairchild shot him a glare, then turned to her son. "You really can't stand the sight of her?"
"Yeah," Evan Fairchild nodded.
"Why do you dislike Megan so much?" his mother couldn't help but ask. "I think she's a perfectly fine girl. Since you can't seem to find a girlfriend yourself, why not just make do? Maybe feelings will develop over time. Look at your eldest brother and his wife. They weren't like that at first, but look how loving they are now."
"Do you really believe Eldest Brother had zero feelings for his wife back then?"
Mrs. Fairchild was stumped.
"Times are different, and so are the ways people express love. Eldest Brother has his way, Second Brother has his, and I have mine."
'My youngest son has always been an idiot when it comes to romance,' Mrs. Fairchild thought. 'But today, that same idiot is schooling me, and he's making perfect sense! I can't even think of a comeback.'
