Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: True Friendship

Tears, a symbol of weakness, the vulnerability in a person. The things that matter to you the most usually trigger them.

Sometimes we cry tears of joy when we're happy and tears of sorrows when we're deeply hurt and in pain.

As bad as it may sound when it comes to the pain aspect tears could become a sign, a signal, a wake up call for you to truly see the kind of situation you're in, to stop being naive about the world you live in.

The kind of people you've decided to interact with. The people you chose to give your all to, to know if it was truly worth it.

No one loves the feeling of being hurt, so no matter how much you cry you have to make

the right decision either you get rid of the cause or you'll allow yourself to dance to the tune and be tossed around like a boat on a stormy sea and then you loose control and then you loose yourself.

Not all friendships are true, stuff happens and you realize you were just being used, but to a wise person it's a chance to finally break free from the suffocating air that comes along with fake friends .

The girl who had twisted her leg started asking herself questions, where had she gone wrong, but then one question really hit her, was it really real?

That's when it dawned on her as she looked back she was the only one that really cared about their bond.

She had seen signs that Long Yufei wasn't being genuine but due to the fact she didn't really have any other friends she still held on.

But at this moment she asked herself, was it really worth it?

Sometimes being alone might be better than trying to hold on to something that isn't there and so she kept crying for not realizing it sooner and considered herself stupid.

She came from a richer family than Long Yufei, she remembered the countless times Long Yufei had asked for favours and she'd done them without a second thought.

Now she realized she was only being used. Right now she was injured badly but her friend didn't...even...care.

"Stop crying it's okay you're injured so we'll take you to the infirmary" Zhu Ai Qing said trying to calm her down.

On the other side...

"Mu Yichen I really, really like you so please accept it" Long Yufei said bowing her head trying to act shy.

Mu Yichen stared down at the girl's pathetic act, he looked at her like he was about to end her life.

Mu Yichen took a side glance at the injured girl, Su Chenxing and Zhu Ai Qing, he couldn't see their faces clearly since they had their backs to him, but he didn't care.

He reached out and took the lunch box but avoided any form of contact.

Long Yufei became excited, "You made this... for me?". "Yes I did, and I put a lot of effort into it", that was in fact a lie, her chef had prepared it that morning on her orders.

Mu Yichen snickered "what's your name" he asked "I...its, Long Yufei" she said while playing with her hair bubbling with joy on the Inside but not looking up to see Mu Yichen's expression as she wanted to keep the shy act.

"The Long family huh. How... pathetic" Mu Yichen deadpanned.

"W...w...what!!!" Long Yufei said finally looking up with wide eyes as she was met by Mu Yichen's cold piercing gaze.

Long Yufei suddenly felt suffocated as she was gripped with fear, she could feel Mu Yichen's aura darken and it felt deadly. It looked like she had seen death staring into he soul as her knees suddenly felt weak and she fell unceremoniously unto the ground.

Mu Yichen looked at Long Yufei's figure on the ground and walked past her.

"Yichen doesn't really like repeating himself, but seeing how you're confused, he said...you're pathetic... and I can't agree more, pray he's in a good mood for the next few days, he could decide to have fun with your family". Li Haoyu said as he reached where Long Yufei was, his smiley expression not changing.

"Tch at least someone knows how to put her in her place" Su Chenxing spoke. She looked back at the girl "Everything is alright so get on my back".

"Eh?!!" the girl and Zhu Ai Qing exclaimed at the same time.

"There's no need for that and I'll be too heavy". the girl said.

"Yes we can just assist each other and take her to the nurse's office". Ai Qing chipped in.

"You two stop!!!, it's okay! just trust me" Su Chenxing said as she turned her back to the girl for her to get on.

Reluctantly the girl climbed unto Su Chenxing's back and just like that Su Chenxing stood up.

The ease at which she lifted the girl up was surprising, "woah" Zhu Ai Qing said as her mouth took an 'O' shape, showing how surprised she was. Even surrounding students began to point fingers and whisper among themselves.

"Let's go" Su Chenxing said as she brought Zhu Ai Qing out of her daze seeing that Su Chenxing had already started walking.

"Chenxing how come you're so strong, you're carrying her like you'd carry a school back, aren't you tired at all". Zhu Ai Qing asked.

"Uhm I used to work at a building site, always lifting heavy blocks, so it's a piece of cake". Su Chenxing said withholding the truth, but Zhu Ai Qing could do nothing but believe her as she looked at Su Chenxing like she was some super hero.

They hadn't noticed they had caught up to Mu Yichen and his group, as they both stopped as for the first time Mu Yichen and Su Chenxing's eyes met.

He still had his icy gaze and him being much taller made him look intimidating but Su Chenxing didn't cower as she looked at him with the same intensity though it was for a brief moment.

Seeing this, Li Haoyu decided to do a little background digging as he felt her aura at that moment wasn't that of an ordinary person.

Though it didn't last long, he guessed it had slipped because most times when two powerful people meet for the first time, their reaction would be to exert dominance.

Su Chenxing had realized her mistake and decided later to take steps to be more careful.

The two groups took their sperate paths.

Just before then the eyes of both Lu Zhifan and Zhu Ai Qing met. Lu Zhifan looked away and continued reading his book like nothing had happened.

But that tinge of sadness returned to Zhu Ai Qing's eyes...
