With the entire hall held completely in check, the rest of the coronation ceremony went on without any further problems. Under the intense, unblinking attention of the crowd, Roxanne's authority was firmly established. Her rule over the Underworld started not with cheering, but under the deep awe and paralyzing fear of every single noble in attendance. Nobody dared to breathe out of line.
Once the formal event finally ended and the trembling nobles were dismissed, the heavy atmosphere of the grand hall shifted.
Instead of heading to a celebratory banquet, the three leaders of the three factions—Roxanne, Azrael, and Yahweh—walked together into a secure, private meeting room deep inside the royal palace.
The heavy obsidian doors clicked shut, sealing out the rest of the world. The moment they were completely alone, the majestic, terrifying tension vanished into thin air.
Roxanne didn't waste a single second. She immediately marched over to a large, plush couch, threw herself onto it, and let out a loud, exhausted groan. She yanked the dark gold tiara off her head and tossed it onto the glass table in front of her.
"I am never doing that again," Roxanne grumbled, burying her face into a cushion. "That was really annoying. Why the hell can't I just kill any of these guys and have to go through all this play just to make them obedient"
Azrael chuckled smoothly, walking over with effortless grace. Her twelve black wings disappeared into thin air as she casually sat down on the armchair across from her daughter. "Oh, come now, sweetie. You looked absolutely magnificent up there. Besides, you don't need to keep this act for much longer "
Yahweh walked in last, his blinding holy light fading completely until he looked like a kind, ordinary old grandfather in a simple white robe. He let out a soft laugh, sitting down on the other side of the couch near Roxanne.
"Your mother is right, child," Yahweh said gently, his eyes full of warmth. "Though I do apologize for making you go through with this play, we must still continue with the plan so that we can't prevent unnecessary casualties"
"Unnecessary casualties?" Roxanne scoffed, lifting her head from the cushion to look at her grandfather. "They are devils. If they die because they are too stupid and arrogant enough to find who is stronger, that is their own choice if they wanted to court death. Why do we even care about saving them?"
Yahweh smiled kindly, not bothered by her sharp words at all. He reached out and gently patted her shoulder.
"We do not care about saving the ones who want to start a war, Roxanne," Yahweh explained softly. "We care about the innocent people who get caught in the middle. If you just go on a killing spree, the entire Underworld will fall into total chaos. The lower-class devils and the common people will suffer the most."
Azrael leaned forward, resting her chin on her hand. Her playful smile turned a bit more serious.
"Exactly, sweetie," Azrael said. "If you kill all the high nobles right now, the remaining ones will panic. They will start fighting each other for power, and the Underworld will tear itself apart. A broken kingdom is useless to you. We need them alive and obedient so they can keep the society running."
Hearing this, Roxanne just sank her face deeper into the sofa. But she didn't refute their words. As the leader who created the most terrifying intelligence organization, she knew what kinds of people those high ranking devils are.
They were like a bunch of stubborn stains on a fine cloth—if you scrub too hard to clean them away, you end up ruining the material itself.
"Fine, I get it," Roxanne muttered, her voice muffled by the sofa cushion. She rolled over onto her back, staring lazily up at the high ceiling. "But I am still going to make them work for it. If they want to keep their heads, they are going to have to prove they can actually be useful instead of just sitting around boasting about their pure blood."
Azrael smiled, highly amused by her daughter's practical mindset. "That is the spirit, sweetie. Force them to do the hard work. It will keep them too busy to plot any foolish rebellions."
Yahweh nodded in agreement, his gentle expression showing complete approval. "A wise choice, Roxanne. True peace is built by guiding people toward order, not just erasing them with power. Now that they know the true strength standing behind you, they will have no choice but to obey."
Roxanne let out one last sigh, finally sitting up. She then looked towards her grandfather and asked, " How is the situation with the other factions. I reckon many gods may have gotten agitated because of your revival. "
Yahweh's gentle smile faded slightly, replaced by a calm, serious expression. He leaned back against the couch and looked out the window toward the distant horizon.
"You are right, child," Yahweh said as he sighed. "My revival has touched the sensitive nerves of many pantheons and ancient gods. During these past days, Heaven has detected many spies and envoys coming to gather information "
"It's not just Heaven that had frequent visitors; even Grigori has become a public place for those guys to come and go as they please," Azrael added, her voice dropping into a sharp tone. "Especially the Greek and Egyptian factions. Those guys the most brazen. Had it not been for the plan, I would have taken action immediately"
Roxanne listened quietly, her fingers tapping against her knee. She wasn't surprised by this news at all. In the supernatural world, a powerhouse coming back from the dead was like a massive nuclear bomb suddenly appearing on everyone's doorstep.
Especially if that person was the famous God of the Bible, who created those god-slaying weapons called sacred gears that are covered by every faction.
"Let them watch," Roxanne said, a small, dangerous smile finally appearing on her lips. " I bet our dear Rizeviem would make his move in the next few weeks. After all, how could a proud man like himself see his proud bloodline and devil identity be revoked by a half-blood girl? "
...
At the same time, far away from the royal palace, inside a hidden, heavily secured stronghold, a completely different kind of storm was raging.
Smash! Crash!
The sounds of heavy objects shattering echoed loudly through a luxurious, dimly lit study. Books, expensive artifacts, and ancient scrolls were scattered all over the floor, completely ruined.
Rizevim Livan Lucifer was going absolutely crazy.
His face was twisted with pure rage, his breathing heavy and ragged. He kicked a solid mahogany desk, splitting it right down the middle with his immense demonic power. The servants outside the door were trembling in absolute terror, not daring to even look inside.
"How dare that girl !" Rizevim roared, his voice shaking the entire room. "How dare a half-blood like her be qualified to revoke my identity. How dare she?"
