She also had a tiara on her head that looked almost identical to the one Roxanne was wearing, pulsing with a dark, matching power. The only difference was that while Roxanne's crown was made of dark gold, Azrael's was cast in a brilliant, polished silver, adorned with midnight-black gems that absorbed the surrounding light.
As Azrael stepped onto the cracked marble floor, her twelve pitch-black wings unfurled majestically behind her. The heavy, dark energy radiating from her was so familiar to Roxanne's that the two powers immediately began to resonate, creating a massive wave of pressure that forced the remaining standing military officers to their knees.
The nobles on the floor were completely losing their minds. First, the God of the Bible, and now the leader of the Fallen Angels? This wasn't just a political disaster anymore; this was the ultimate gathering of the three original leaders of the Great War factions, all standing in the same room.
Azrael ignored the trembling nobles entirely. She walked forward with effortless grace, her black dress dragging smoothly against the red carpet. She looked at Yahweh, then up at Roxanne sitting on the throne, and a playful, teasing smile appeared on her lips.
"My, my, Father. I never expected you would come to witness my daughter's coronation ceremony," Azrael spoke as she looked at Yahweh with a playful gaze.
Yahweh's heart tightened as he met Azrael's smiling eyes. He knew his daughter well enough to recognize that look—she was definitely going to screw him over. After all, he had just crashed his granddaughter's coronation ceremony. Even though the three of them had discussed this plan together beforehand, ultimately, it was his brilliant idea to use this big event as an opportunity to give a harsh warning to all those hidden forces lurking in the dark.
Now, he was the one taking all the blame and looking like the ultimate bad guy in front of the kid.
"Azrael," Yahweh cleared his throat softly, trying to maintain his calm, majestic demeanor while sending a small, helpless look toward his daughter. "I merely arrived early to see how our granddaughter was handling her big day."
"Oh? Is that so?" Azrael chuckled, her twelve pitch-black wings folding slightly as she came to a stop right next to him. She turned her eyes up toward the throne, looking at her cold daughter, and spoke. "Because it looked to me like you were trying to pick a fight with my precious Roxanne the moment you walked through that door."
A heavy silence fell over the room. The devil nobles and the Four Satans froze completely. It felt like loud thunderclaps were ringing inside their heads.
What did they just hear?
This girl, Roxanne, was the daughter of the Fallen Angel Queen, Azrael. And since she had the bloodline of Lucifer, she was the child of Lucifer and Azrael. Which meant this child is a half-blood who carries the royal blood of both races. And adding the fact that God declared her as his granddaughter, Hisss it seems she is now considered to be someone who has the royal bloodline of all three factions.
Pure fear gripped every devil in the room. Suddenly, a terrifying thought came to the opportunist nobles. Secrets this big were dangerous. Would they all be killed right now just for hearing this? The nobles pressed their faces hard into the carpet, shaking with fear.
You know, in the underworld, bloodline is their supreme law. Those who have a weak bloodline or those who have mixed bloodlines are often discriminated against. Mixed-bloods were usually treated like trash, viewed as weak and dirty mistakes.
And the offspring of such half-blood are often called stains in the eyes of pure-blood devils. So most devils would definitely do everything to hide such scandals. So it's no wonder these guys thought that Roxanne would silence them to keep this secret, because if they were in her shoes, they would definitely do that.
Roxanne also saw their fear, but she just snorted and stopped paying attention to them.
Actually, they completely misunderstood Roxanne.
She didn't care about their old, foolish rules. She didn't hide her bloodline because she was ashamed of it; she simply didn't think these vultures were worthy of knowing her personal business. To her, their opinions meant less than nothing. After all, if anyone wanted to strictly trace her lineage, she could easily claim deep connections to the Bael, Gremory, Kronos, and many other pure devil families.
As long as her strength was absolute, she could do whatever she wanted without ever worrying about public opinion. Even if she were a mere human, these guys would still have to keep their mouths shut. If they stepped out of line, she could basically wipe them out and let a new batch of smart, loyal nobles replace them. Just as Roxanne had said earlier in her speech, she had no qualms about killing people who didn't know how to behave.
Seeing her calm and indifferent gaze, many nobles who were already on their wits' end felt like crying. If earlier they only had a guess, now they are more certain of their guess. After all, Roxanne now looked like she was about to go on a killing spree.
Looking at the hundreds of high-ranking lords and proud pure-blood devils literally shivering on the carpet, Roxanne felt an overwhelming urge to punch something. Even though she never liked these devils, can't these guys at least have a bit of a backbone? Can't you see you are making me embarrassed?
' That's it, I'm going to make these spineless guys grow some backbone after this ceremony. ' Roxanne thought as a shiver ran down every high-ranking noble, making them even more afraid.
" That's enough, both of you, " Roxanne spoke, catching the attention of everyone. " This farce has gone on long enough. Since you both came to congratulate me, just do that. You can quibble all you want after the ceremony, " and with this remark, an aura more primal and ancient came out of Roxanne, pressuring everyone to retreat.
Seeing this, both Azrael and Yahweh chose to back down. It seems Roxanne was too disappointed in those devils' actions that she decided to stop the plan midair.
Azrael shrugged and let out a soft sigh, her twelve pitch-black wings folding neatly behind her back. "Fine, fine. We wouldn't want to ruin our precious girl's big moment, would we, Father?" she murmured, casting one last teasing glance at Yahweh before stepping off the main path to take her place at the side of the hall.
Yahweh smiled warmly, his blinding holy light softening into a calm, gentle glow. "As you wish, Roxanne," he said softly. He gave her a proud, grandfatherly nod and stepped aside as well, moving with absolute grace to stand opposite Azrael.
Seeing that these two are cooperating with her, Roxanne nodded imperceptibly and began to retract her aura. Soon, those devils, angels, and fallen angels all could finally catch their breath. Yes, because of Roxanne's aura, even the angels and fallen angels who came as guests were also suppressed. Thankfully, Roxanne still remembered the occasion and did not make them kneel just like the devils.
