|3rd POV|
The androids surround Ryan and his group, looking at them with intense awe and curiosity. If not for the fact that they are already used to the androids looking at them this way, they would be uncomfortable with the intrusion into their private space and ask them to leave them alone.
However, because they are accustomed to it and know the androids will never hurt them, they happily let the androids observe them and answer all the questions the androids have for them.
While doing so, Ryan and his group clean the ruined city and start building a new fortified base for the androids. Yasaka uses construction spells to create a walled perimeter, while Ryan and Zelretch create a barrier around the base to protect the others from machine attacks.
Looking from a distance are the twins, Popola and Devola. After Ryan boldly tells them that they are innocent and should not be punished for something they did not do, they become emotional and refuse to leave the group's side.
They follow every instruction Ryan and the others give them. At this point, if someone from his group wants them dead, they are more than happy to comply. Currently, they are following Asia, who is exploring the area alongside Kunou and gathering plants to see if they can be used to create potions.
Yasaka leads construction with the androids, who are more than happy to carry rubble from around the city to use as building material. Anemone and White handle security, eliminating any machines in the ruined city.
Zelretch and Ryan are busy researching colored mana. They use the colored mana to create the outer layer of the barrier around the base, while the inner layer utilizes magecraft. Ryan creates the rings used as anchors and the main ingredients for the barrier.
"I think it is better to sprinkle some of the gems on the wall."
"What? Like coating?"
Ryan rubs his jaw as he thinks of the reason for this.
"Yes. While it does nothing on its own, if we use a certain pattern, it will create runes that enchant the wall."
"Which gem do you think is best for the wall?"
"Sapphire is better for redirection and against energy and magic-based attacks. Almost all the machines in this world use this kind of weaponry, so this gem is better compared to the others."
"How about the Pearl? White mana is fundamentally a protective mana, after all. So we create the rune formation using White Mana as a base, then add Green Mana underneath it to act as a regeneration layer, and lastly, add Blue on top as a refraction layer that reflects the attack back to the attacker."
"That is a great idea, but we need to redo the formation we use because it is too simple, and the calculations need significant adjustment."
"That is not a problem. We have plenty of time and a lot of material to work with."
Zelretch and Ryan go back and forth, sharing ideas and solutions to their problems.
Nearby, Yasaka walks toward Anemone and White, who are talking about the report from the patrol. They stop talking as Yasaka looks at Anemone.
"I'm done with the wall. You can now tell the others to install the automated weapons. Also, tell them to move the solar panels and start transferring the energy reactor from the old base."
"Yes, ma'am."
Anemone salutes and notifies the others through their internal comms. The other androids happily obey the order; they are thrilled to receive instructions directly from humans. Some of the androids even dream of such a moment and now experience a sense of euphoria.
All in all, they work together to create the base, and within less than 24 hours, it is finished and ready for use. At the moment, it is powered by emergency solar panels, but the energy reactor has already been moved and will be reactivated once the other parts are assembled.
The location of the base is perfect. It is situated in a naturally defended area and, combined with the wall and barrier Zelretch and Ryan created, it is ten times better than the previous base Anemone and her group used.
Eventually, the construction phase comes to an end. Anemone receives news from one of the androids patrolling the area and reports it to Ryan and the others, who are currently cooking.
"Sir!"
"Call me Ryan, Anemone."
"There is no way I can do that, sir."
"Please?"
"... Sir Ryan, then."
"Close enough, I guess. Anyway, what's up?"
"I received news from one of the patrol units, sir. YoRHa units are approaching us. They are identified as 2B and 9S."
Ryan nods his head and looks at White.
"It looks like it is time."
The androids who hear this look around in sadness. In their minds, Ryan and his group need to return to the moon and leave them behind. They understand, but they are still reluctant to part from their creators, especially since their creators are so kind and easygoing. They love spending time with Ryan and his group.
At least they have memories of their creators ordering them around and praising them for their hard work. The androids want them to stay longer, but there is nothing they can do. At least their creators performed a miracle for them and built a base where other humans can visit; according to Ryan, the base is suitable for long-term human habitation.
They are eager to meet more humans.
They wait for a few more minutes before the two YoRHa units arrive at the new base. 9S looks around in awe, then scans the area, gathering as much information as he can. 2B, on the other hand, looks at White and frowns slightly, knowing that White should still be at the Bunker.
When she arrives, she looks at White and speaks.
"Who are you? Why do you have the same model as Commander White?"
"Instead of asking her that, I will give you something to prove something."
2B looks at Ryan, who takes out a knife and cuts his palm, making it bleed. The others scream in panic while 2B's Pod scans the blood on the ground. After a few seconds, the Pod looks up and announces.
"Scan complete: this person is 100% human. Suggestion: 2B needs to report back to the Bunker."
2B looks at him in shock and quickly connects to the Bunker, where 6O greets her.
"2B, have you completed your mission?"
"No. However, there is something Commander White needs to know."
"What is it?"
"There are humans here."
"What?"
"Sending the data from the Pod now."
While the Bunker descends into chaos over the data they receive, 2B and 9S look at Ryan and the others in shock and awe. However, behind those gazes, a hint of jealousy appears as they see how close the other androids are to the humans.
After a few seconds of waiting, an image of Commander White appears from the Pod.
"2B, what is the meaning of this?"
Before 2B can say anything, Ryan's White walks forward.
"This is the situation of 27-B-22673-C-Alpha-21."
Commander White looks at her for a second before responding.
"Are you saying that you come from an alternate Earth?"
"Yes."
White looks at Ryan and lets him introduce them.
"It is good to see you, Commander White. My name is Ryan Hernandes, and we are here by accident. We are from an alternate Earth."
