The twins rose, graceful and fluid like puppets with invisible strings.
The boy hovered without feet, dragging his cleaver like a beloved toy.
The girl skipped across the polished floor, her reflection lagging just half a second behind.
"I want his fingers!" she sang, pointing at Red.
"I want his head!" the boy pointed at Alex.
Alex nearly fainted.
Allen reappeared next to him. "You good?"
Alex squeaked.
Allen turned. "Cool. Stay alive."
Then blinked again. Gone.
Red was holding off three spirits. "She's shielding herself with the guests! We have to clear them before we can get to her!"
"I can do an AoE!" Alex called out. "But I'll need three seconds!"
"Do it!" Red shouted. "Mastercraft, cover him!"
"On it!"
Alex planted his staff. Prayed.
