Chapter 1 - Chapter one:Annoying man

"I got a good job at Smith Company. I am so lucky!"

Edhi spun around the room in excitement until her nanny's voice cut through her joy.

"Edhi, my dear, be careful, or you will sprain your ankle."

"I am strong, Nanny. I am not a child anymore," Edhi said with a bright smile. "I am so excited about this job. I will earn money, build connections, and one day, I will have my own company. I will also avenge Dad and Mom," she added, her tone softening with emotion.

"Edhi, my dear," her nanny said gently, "do not let anger and hatred consume you. They will destroy you. Life is full of hardship and suffering. It makes me worry about what lies ahead for you."

Edhi stepped closer and kissed her on the cheek.

"You are always worrying about me. Don't worry. I will be careful at every step of my life."

"Little one… one day I may not be here for you. I am worried about your future. I wonder what fate has in store for you."

A few hours later.

Edhi made her way to her new workplace. Along the road, she noticed something unusual. The entire street ahead was blocked by bodyguards surrounding a sleek black limousine, sealing off access completely.

"Hey! Why the hell are you blocking the road?" Edhi shouted angrily.

The bodyguards ignored her completely.

"I am talking to you! You scumbags! This road is for pedestrians!"

Still, no response.

Her irritation deepened.

"Fine. I will teach you some manners," she muttered under her breath, a mischievous glint flashing in her eyes.

She walked to the side, picked up a stone, and threw it straight at the limousine's window.

Inside the car sat a man who seemed carved from authority itself.

Alexander Quan.

He sat with quiet dominance, legs crossed, reviewing documents as if the world outside did not exist. His expression was cold, controlled, almost merciless.

Then the disturbance reached him.

Without looking up, he gave a slight gesture. His secretary immediately understood.

"Miss, you are causing a scene," the secretary said calmly. "I suggest you leave before you regret this."

But Edhi was no longer listening.

"This is exactly why I hate rich people," she snapped. "You all think you own the world."

"Son of a bitch I need to use this road right now, and you are in my way along with everyone else!"

At that moment, Alexander finally moved.

He stepped out of the car.

The air seemed to shift with his presence.

Edhi's anger flared again. She grabbed another stone and threw it immediately. He moved with sharp precision, dodging it, but the impact struck the car behind him, shattering the window.

He frowned slightly.

"That was my favorite car."

All the bodyguards instantly bowed.

"My lord, this woman is causing trouble. Should we handle her?"

Edhi looked up.

And froze.

The man standing before her was dangerously beautiful.

His gray eyes resembled storm-lit skies, cold and endless, yet strangely magnetic. His lashes were long, his features sharp but almost unreal. His lips carried a faint natural tint, like rose petals untouched by cruelty. His suit fit perfectly, emphasizing a powerful frame that radiated control and danger in equal measure.

For a brief moment, Edhi forgot how to breathe.

She stared at him like someone standing too close to a blade she could not yet recognize as dangerous.

A bodyguard lightly tapped her shoulder.

Reality snapped back.

Oh no.

I just embarrassed myself.

Her expression hardened instantly, anger returning like a shield.
