Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

So with the other teenagers on a mission trying to recover Jasper, it would normally be a necessity to create a wall to hoard off the grounders.

But before that, we would need a means of retaliation in case the grounders attacked

A wall was great and all, but the protection it offered was limited and we would be very vulnerable in case of a breach and/or during construction.

During canon, the construction of the barricades went unhinged.

And while nothing has diverged from the TV show's representation until now, except maybe me becoming leader, sending Dax instead of Bellamy and keeping Clarke in camp, I had no means of being sure that this would continue.

My idea was to get to the old military deposit where the guns were originally found.

If I could do that, the camp safety would be assured and any future tasks with any varying levels of danger will be made easier.

Though, I would need to gain their trust and respect first to prevent anarchy.

They needed to listen to my orders after all.

Before, some might have thought of me as a coward. I might have fixed their cowardly image of me, by beating up Bellamy and becoming the current leader.

But what do they think of me right now?

Regardless, I decided I would first find the base. The exact coordinates weren't shown in the series after all.

All I could do was base myself on the fact that the old bunker was close to the drop ship and there were few trees in that area (A/N: Correct me If I'm wrong).

Once I found the place, I would take the guns and magazines along with a few others I lead there.

During my search, the people at camp would be building a wall to optimise time usage.

And then I'd finally give everyone the firearms.

After being convinced of them having a positive image of me.

Now on to the matter of what my people think of me.

To do that, according to my hypothesis, the best way to settle any negative opinions the majority potentially had of my person and me being their leader would have to do with me doing something big, like saving someone.

Someone...

Or lost people like Pascal and Trina.

For an unclear reason, the delinquent couple had left camp. They would eventually have gotten lost and died due to the acid fog.

That should do, I wasn't sure of where they got lost though but with my emotions sensing I should be able to feel them out in little time.

But without diverting too much from the main topic, I still needed to find those guns to reduce the time in which the one hundred would be armed, otherwise, in case this was an AU, we would all be sitting ducks.

To do so without attracting attention, I created a little hunt party to disguise my current operations, which was comprised of a girl named Monroe, another girl called Harper, one of Bellamy's former goons, Atom and finally a boy dubbed Carl.

I also wanted to take Bellamy with me at first but decided to leave him at camp with a few instructions.

"Hey Bellamy," I greeted.

"Listen, you and I started on the wrong foot, but we need each other more than we realise."

I continued, "Because if we don't cooperate, the only ones that will be benefiting from our conflict will be the grounders, and that's the last thing we want at the moment, right?" I told him.

"Is that the first thing you say to the person you beat up badly an hour ago?" he told me.

"Don't start Bellamy, we both know you are in the wrong. Not only did you almost kill me. But you also stole my kill to force the others into removing their wristbands."

"You wouldn't understand-" he tried but I cut him off.

"I do know, as a result, I somewhat comprehend why you did this Bellamy. You did some bad stuff on the Ark to get to the ground for the sole purpose of protecting your sister from whatever could potentially be a threat to her. That doesn't, however, excuse the methods you used to accomplish those goals."

"How did you-?" he started before I interrupted again.

Damn, I'm a hypocrite. I don't want to be interrupted yet I cut off other people when they're talking.

"I overheard your conversation with Octavia, and before you ask I wasn't eavesdropping on purpose."

Yeah, that's the most reasonable excuse I could come up with, it did happen after all.

"Anyways, regardless of your past mistakes, I need you in camp so you can put together a wall with the other's help whilst I hunt along with a few."

"Can you do that?" I asked him.
