Someone could have a very poor reputation from the kind of things they got up to in their everyday life, but that would be overshadowed by their achievements as a Balancer.
If they had enough power and achievement, it would be enough to quieten down those voices.
One of those reasons for such a thing being common was a result of how that power could be used.
Balancers possessed power beyond what ordinary humans could achieve, and the more power they possessed, the more dangerous they could become.
Just as they could use that power to slay Spirits and Evil Spirits, that power could just as easily be turned on anyone else.
All that it could take would be for someone of that power to feel provoked enough to use that power.
There always existed fear toward those who were stronger, as there would always be some fear that would exist toward that power being used against those who were much weaker and unable to defend themselves.
