Tiffany may have wavered during such times, but she ended up coming out of it even more determined.
If she gave up, then she would not be able to achieve anything.
If she made a mistake, then she would learn from it.
If she were too weak and lacked control, then she would build her strength and gain the kind of control that would allow her to act how she wanted.
She was often limited to being an observer or intervening in ways that only helped to nudge things along to a certain conclusion, but that was not always the case for her as she gained more through each new challenge.
The best she could do in a lot of situations was to make use of information she had gained to get people to act in a way that served her best interests while looking out for them at the same time.
That was her way of helping such people out without having to expose herself or get too involved.
Information could often be a powerful weapon to be used, especially when it could be used to prevent a great loss to someone who could overcome everything if they came to know of such a thing and were able to gain proof of such a thing.
That had been her way of protecting those whom she had decided to help out, but none of it came without a price.
She was not doing it all purely out of the kindness of her heart.
There were things that she wished to gain through helping such people, if such people were able to have something to make her move for the sake of them, just as there would be others that would make her move to help them for other reasons besides personal benefit.
It was not like she was completely without a heart and did not care for the people whom she often observed.
Even if they were not rich and powerful people who could be of great use to her, she still saw the potential in people, so she could still find ways to be repaid for helping them.
Some of those people had ended up becoming a part of her organisation, while others ended up doing something small for her when she came asking for a favour.
Through that, she had learned that it was good to have all kinds of people owe her and to have good feelings toward her enough to make them move to help the moment she came to them asking for help.
Those types of experiences had resulted in her growing up a lot quicker than others.
Even if she had a purpose to go to a school and to take part in vigilante activities, it did not mean that she was so cold and detached that she would not care about the people with whom she interacted.
It was difficult not to get attached to such people, especially when they went through various challenges together.
She could keep going with what she wished to accomplish, but she did not wish to risk the lives of others so easily.
If they wished to continue, then she needed to lay out everything bluntly to make them realise what they were getting into.
She could try and shoulder it all herself if they no longer wished to keep going, and that would be completely fine to her.
They decided to decide in the end, so she would respect whatever decision they would end up making.
If they wished to keep going, then they needed to learn from their mistakes quickly, as she did not wish for them to be lost.
One puppet being lost was already quite a monetary loss for her, but she had calculated that loss even before deciding to sacrifice it for the sake of saving the others.
If she had to, then she would probably be fine making the very same sacrifice again with the remaining puppet if it would ensure their survival.
By doing that, she would allow them to live on and move on from their vigilante activities, or they would end up growing from that experience.
It would be a loss that she would be willing to take, as it was easier for her to replace her puppets than to replace them.
Even if they decided not to continue, she would not end up blaming them for making that decision.
She could only hope that they would be able to live on in any way possible in the future and be able to avoid making any reckless moves that could get them into trouble, which could end up endangering them.
Grief could often make people spiral out of control, so she went on to say. "I am not saying that we should forget or get over everything. How could we? I just mean that we should not do anything that will expose us to more losses and think carefully over time to decide on what we should do from now on."
The other two seemed to have been triggered by her words, as a mix of anger and frustration was shown on their faces and body language, but that lightened after she continued to speak again.
Those words had allowed her to express that she cared about what had happened, but she would not want for such a sacrifice to have been made in vain.
It would be better to honour the meaning behind that sacrifice rather than to forget it due to the feelings of grief that they were feeling.
Their lives were saved, so that sacrifice would likely hang over them for some time.
If they acted recklessly, then it would be like they were dishonouring that sacrifice, and they were spitting on the grave of their fallen comrade, who wished for them to live on and to keep doing good in the world as they had been doing so far together.
The thoughts of their lost comrade could not be known by them, besides what they could interpret from their experiences together and those final moments they shared before their end.
After such an emotional ending to their group task, they had to split up and go their own separate ways.
They made promises to meet up again in the future at a set location and time to discuss things further.
They had all admitted that they needed some time to properly grieve and think things over before then.
