Chapter 25 - Chapter 4 Episode 22

"Nutri, have you decided on which form to take?"

Taking her gaze off the dusty road ahead of them, Nutri's eyes landed on JunBee. "In all truths I believe that Balos might be the grand decision. He hones the ability to shapeshift allowing me to choose the face of my character while explore the city see what I can collect."

"You have put great thought into our mission." Probing the passing building inspecting them from roof to pavement he searched for all signs of movements through his electric field. "Considering the circumstances the three of us must be aware, Rumain is one city that we cannot want find ourselves on the wrong side of so our visit will be resourceful not extended."

Stopping in his tracks at a familiar electric pulse, Tecto took a swift glance at his associates. "Our contractors have entered the field."

 "Field?" said JunBee questionly.

"Correct. I have a talent to detect electric fields due to the electrocytes in my body which gives me the ability to use electricity. With a touch I can tag the being of my choice with a positive or negative charge allowing me to know there whereabouts whenever they are in my electric field."

"Have you tagged me?" asked JunBee.

"I have; I keep in touch with all those that I value…Nutri."

Nodding her head The Acquirer body began to fritz and statick before shifting molecules and dna to that of malnourished potbelly man of a creature.

"Is that the form you wish to present."

"No, he is the being who hones the talents necessary for our objective." Closing her eyes Nutri fell into the darkness until a image popped into her mind and her body began to reassimilate like vines furling and unfurling until her new form stood.

 "You are awake."

Squeezing his eyes shut and reopening them a long bodied shaggy haired man shook himself to make sure he wasn't in a dreamstate. "Who is this woman?" Checking his surrounding he thought, "I haven't left my training grounds.

 "I'm Lucy of Bai She."

"Bai She I never heard of such place."

"That is because it is a place not of this realm."

Rocking his head to her sweet melodic voice the man found himself getting lost in her emerald, green eyes. "I am Melus." Trying to shake away his drowsy state a high flooded his mind like adrenaline

"Melus." Bouncing her head while pronouncing his name, Lucy head slightly rotated before peering down with huge glittering eyes. "Melus may I wander, what is the purpose of your training. You work in seclusion, but with what means?"

"I wish to build a strength that exceeds that of basic training. In a beat I will be risking it all with and for my friends and family. I am fighting for a freedom that can't be seen by the eye." Grinning wildly, Lucy head shook and her puffy orange hair jiggled like jello. "Allow me to assist you in this conquest for it is only few things I ask for… loyalty, companionship, and power."

 "Companionship"

"Correct I seek one that I can bond with, and you are the one who holds my attraction. Your dedication, focus, strength, I wish to magnify and transform with permission."

Sliding his eyes down Lucy's smooth milky white albino skin Melus took in every curve.

"Can you hear it?" Clasping her ears and swerving her head like a camera the commentator's eyes and face lit up. "All the beautiful Hymns weaving together creating a beautiful melody."

"We can't go any further." Hearing and feeling the buzz and hum of wings vibrating ahead Selene gently put her hand on her Nodes shoulder. "It's best we land and join the other Cidae. It will give us a greater advantage." Nodding in agreement with a tug of his self-made rein, Morm sent his captive into a spiraling dive.

"A vast army has arrived to protect their hive. What will our fellow Formicidae do will they unify and make a grand symphony." Spoke The commentator.

Yeeint, yeeint, yeemp bolting across the massive fertile land of grass, moss, and dirt patches, a small battalion of Cidae arrived at the scene. "As always, the Popolis and their electrifying talent are the first to arrive." Weaving her emotions and delight in her chemical trail the Weaver said, "Prepare for a dazzling event."

"Woooo." Whistled one of the slim short brownish red men. "It is a whole civilization of Pteradium." Grinning with excitement electricity wrapped around his body in a serpentine motion. "You can fly, you can crawl or you can fight. Whichever it maybe it will still end in defeat." Digging his feet into the ground in a spark of lightning, boom, the Hymnode burst across the stretch of land in spray of dirt, rock and dust.

Enveloping themselves in streaks of electricity a small army of a little over a hundred of the brownish red Hymnodes shot off.

Releasing a unified screech with a click of their mandibles, the giant six-legged insects stampeded forth, before the intruders could reach a mile of their domain.

"Get out of our way!" shouted a Popolis as he bounded in the air along with several others of his caste.

Shifting into their insectoid form the Sahar took on the appearance of ant humanoids. Clicking their mandibles as they reached the peak of their leap the Popolis covered their arms in an electric gorilla size arm. "Rataplan…" Angling their bodies into a dive the Cidae yelled in unison, "…Composite." Slamming their lightning coated arms into the earth the Hymnodes released electrical discharge that caused the earth to explode and spit up its guts while simultaneously unleashing paralyzing waves in all directions.

"Just what we needed." Said a woman to herself as her nodes and others of her order situated themselves high above the madness and paralyzed Pteridae.

"Can you feel it?" Spoke the Weaver. "The rhythm of how all Cidae synchronize, how the life of our seven Empresses thrives in our veins. Without haste a family of Colossis swept through the treetops dropping their sticky yellow acidic grenades." Shivering as if cold the speaker released a mixture of scents into the air allowing them spread out through the tree's spores and to the audience below allowing them to truly visualize and feel her perspective. "Those blood curling screeches truly makes my antennas twitch.
