Chapter 1140 - IUD-Chapter 1135 An Invitation from the Hero Association?

As the news report continued, an image appeared on the television screen.

It showed Fang Li and Sylvia standing together in the middle of a group of collapsed Wild Men.

After the image appeared, it began to zoom in, eventually stopping on Sylvia's face, displaying that breathtakingly beautiful visage before everyone's eyes.

Seeing this, Fang Li was once again rendered speechless.

Even though he was standing right beside her, the camera crew had given Sylvia a close-up while completely ignoring him. Were they deliberately trying to boost their ratings or something?

Fang Li could not even be bothered to watch the overexcited reporter on TV, who was practically foaming at the mouth as he rambled on. Instead, he picked up the laptop beside him and turned it on.

Soon, Fang Li entered a forum.

A forum known as the Hero Association forum.

On the forum, the incident of Sylvia resolving the disaster in D-City had already become the hottest topic.

"So Diva is a Hero too?!"

"That's unbelievable!"

"Amazing! She actually dealt with a Demon-Level disaster!"

"She's incredible!"

The majority of users were discussing the matter enthusiastically. New threads appeared almost every second.

The comments flooded thread after thread, allowing Fang Li to see the public's reactions.

"But why haven't we heard that Sylvia-san joined the Hero Association?"

"Could it be that Sylvia-san actually isn't a member of the Hero Association?"

"In other words, Sylvia-san isn't a Hero and was simply helping out when she happened to pass by?"

"Even so, that's still amazing!"

Looking at these messages, Fang Li stroked his chin.

"A Hero, huh?"

That was a profession that genuinely existed in this world.

To deal with the increasingly severe disasters, a wealthy philanthropist had established an organization dedicated to combating Mysterious Beings and maintaining social order and peace.

That organization was known as the Hero Association.

The Hero Association mainly consisted of two types of personnel.

One type was the administrative staff.

These were the people responsible for the management, operation, and daily functioning of the Hero Association.

The other type was Heroes.

They accepted recruitment by the Hero Association and served as combat personnel. With the Association's support, they traveled to disaster sites, resolved incidents at their source, and eliminated Mysterious Beings.

Thus, in modern society, being a Hero had become a legitimate profession.

The Hero Association raised its funds through public donations.

Heroes affiliated with the Association received compensation according to their contributions and rankings.

In other words, it was a profession similar to a Butei or an Adventurer.

Heroes were further divided into ranks based on their combat ability and contributions to society.

From highest to lowest, there were four classes: S, A, B, and C.

Naturally, Heroes of different ranks received different evaluations.

S-Class Heroes:

Heroes capable of dealing with Demon-Level and even Dragon-Level disasters. They were regarded as monsters even among other Heroes and possessed strength far beyond that of ordinary humans.

A-Class Heroes:

Heroes capable of handling Tiger-Level and even Demon-Level disasters. They formed the backbone of the Hero Association and represented the goal that many other Heroes aspired to reach.

B-Class Heroes:

Heroes capable of dealing with Wolf-Level and Tiger-Level disasters. They were individuals who possessed genuine combat ability.

C-Class Heroes:

People who were merely somewhat stronger than ordinary citizens, or sometimes just ordinary citizens altogether. Their primary duties involved dealing with petty thieves and criminals. The role they played was not much different from that of police officers carrying batons.

At present, the Hero Association had:

16 S-Class Heroes

38 A-Class Heroes

101 B-Class Heroes

387 C-Class Heroes

Among them, if a C-Class Hero failed to make any contribution within a week, they would be removed from the Association.

Fang Li's Main Quest 1 was to join the Hero Association and, together with Sylvia, obtain an S-Class evaluation and become S-Class Heroes.

"Looks like I'll have to find some time to pay a visit to the Hero Association."

Just as Fang Li was thinking this, Sylvia came into the living room.

And she brought with her a wave of fragrance and warmth.

"What are you thinking about?"

Sylvia emerged from the direction of the bathroom. Her body was wrapped in nothing more than a bath towel, while she used another towel to dry her hair. Her fair skin and alluring figure were displayed openly before Fang Li without the slightest reservation.

Looking at Sylvia like this, Fang Li's heart immediately grew heated.

Although the two of them could already be considered an old married couple, spending plenty of time being affectionate together, and although their nightly life left Fang Li thoroughly satisfied and blessed with every kind of romantic happiness, each time Sylvia appeared before him so defenselessly, he still could not help but feel his heart skip a beat.

Seeing Fang Li's reaction, Sylvia's charming face reddened slightly as she shot him a glance.

"It's still daytime, so don't get any funny ideas."

The warning only caused Fang Li to smile.

"In other words, I can do whatever I want tonight?"

That single sentence left Sylvia feeling both annoyed and helpless.

Even if she said no, this man probably would not listen anyway.

By the time night came, she would undoubtedly end up being thoroughly tormented again.

However, Fang Li suspected that Sylvia herself was not exactly unwilling.

Otherwise, this diva would not keep appearing before him like this from time to time, completely unguarded and stirring up his emotions.

Of course, Fang Li did not know that Sylvia had her own little thoughts on the matter.

Occasionally showing off her charm was a way of keeping the romance alive between lovers.

After all, if a woman neglected the man at home and he eventually started looking elsewhere for excitement, she would be the one at a loss.

So, in a sense, this was also a method of maintaining freshness in their relationship.

"Ah..."

Before long, Sylvia let out a small cry as Fang Li pulled her into his arms.

Smack!

Sylvia slapped away Fang Li's hand, which had instinctively reached toward her bath towel, and spoke somewhat helplessly.

"Can't you even wait until tonight?"

Hearing that, Fang Li shrugged. He stopped fooling around and simply held Sylvia's fragrant body in his embrace while continuing to browse the forum.

Sylvia also saw what was on the screen.

"The Hero Association?" Sylvia said. "Actually, the Hero Association contacted me earlier as well. They specifically invited me to join."

"Oh?" Fang Li looked surprised. "Something like that happened too?"

"Well, the Hero Association relies on public donations to maintain its operations, and most of its activities are carried out in the public eye," Sylvia said with a smile. "The more support they receive, the more beneficial it is for them. Given that, it's not strange that they'd want to recruit me."

Fang Li immediately understood.

Indeed.

If the world's most famous idol joined the Hero Association, public support would probably skyrocket overnight. The Association would never have to worry about funding or popularity again.

"I heard that among the current A-Class Heroes, there's already a very famous idol," Sylvia continued. "Because of his presence, the Hero Association enjoys considerable public support. That Hero has a great deal of influence within the Association and even possesses part of its administrative authority. Apparently, if a Hero wants to be promoted, the final approval must go through him before it's allowed."

Fang Li immediately fell into thought.
