The best case scenario for Metteo was for the Lord to lose the Token to their faction.
It was just that…how long has it been since Metteo had been to a war? A Town so close to the desert, especially when deserts were expanding, was generally not attractive enough to risk going to war with.
Erol was actually tempted to ask Alterra to attack Metteo but that was too much of a favor. If he dared ask, he might as well ask them to throw him out the walls.
Alterra, after their investigation, was apparently famous for avoiding wars despite their satellites ironically going through it every two weeks. Alterra itself would not go to war unless they were attacked, and that was a principle he respected.
The group rested there for a while, gathered themselves, gathered their strength, pooled their resources, gave intel, gathered intel, and so on.
