Chapter 188 - Yog-Sothoth

Here is the world behind the door, where time and space have both come to a halt, and only wisdom remains.

Various white lines intersect with one another, while darkness collides at the same time.

It is chaotic, unknowable, and unthinkable. There is no description sufficient to describe this place.

"Brrrr…."

Adam kneeled on the ground, holding a hand over his mouth. A trickle of blood overflowing in the corners of his lips.

On his eyes, too, two lines of scarlet blood trickled down slowly like tears.

"Haaaah…."

The silver-haired boy who doesn't belong here took a deep shuddering breath, his shoulders pausing their trembling.

"You didn't have to do a whole ritual, you know?"

The cutesy voice of a young girl echoed throughout this place. However, to his ears, this same voice sounded like a terrifying thunderclap

"If you wanted to meet me, you could have just said so."

With those words, the speaker revealed THEMSELVES.

At first, there was no clear 'form', only a vague distortion, as if the halted space itself had been gently disturbed.

The intersecting white lines trembled, bending ever so slightly, while the surrounding darkness seemed to recede, making way for something that did not belong.

Then, gradually, the view cleared up- and a figure took shape.

-A 'young girl'

She sits upon a throne that appeared carved from pale stone, intricate patterns etched into its surface like fossilized remains.

Yet even that description felt insufficient- for the throne itself seemed suspended between existence and non-existence, its edges blending into the unmoving void around it.

Her posture is very relaxed, even careless.

One leg crossed over the other, slender and clad in dark, form-fitting stockings, while one arm rested lightly against the armrest, fingers supporting her cheek in leisure.

Long silver-white hair cascaded down her back and over her shoulders. Smooth, luminous, with each strand seemingly reflecting an otherworldly light.

It frames a face that could only be described as delicate- soft features, pale skin untouched by imperfection, and eyes…that were not normal.

Vast, layered with shifting shades of violet and deep cosmic hues, as if containing entire galaxies and universes within them.

-This inexplicably reminds the Transmigrator of a phrase: 'When you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes back to you.'

She wears a dark dress that contrasts sharply with her pale complexion. The fabric clings and flows in equal measure, obviously not abiding by any 'mere' laws of physics.

Around her, countless orbs drift in silent orbit.

Some are deep violet, others black as absolute nothingness, while a few shimmer with faint starlike lights within, resembling miniature universes contained in eggshells in orbit.

They moved without pattern yet never collided- perhaps the girl on that throne controls them to ease her boredom

"Ah! I'm so happy right now!"

'Miss bubbles' smiled brightly. A cute, innocent, and bright smile-

Despite her youthful appearance, despite the light, almost happy tone of her voice, there is an undeniable weirdness.

"Why did you bring me here?"

Adam slowly stood up from his kneeling position, wiping the blood from his lips and face with the back of his hands.

In front of this incomparably supreme existence that can erase him with a mere thought, he feels….utterly nothing.

As they say, if you can't fight, just learn to enjoy it- Well, in this case, since there's absolutely no chance, what else could he do but accept everything?

Humans are like that. When the difference is small enough to glimpse a piece, they are afraid or envious, but when the difference is so incomprehensively vast and monstrous, they only feel awe and acceptance.

"Why?" She hummed softly, tilting her head just slightly, strands of white hair slipping forward with the motion. "Because I'm lonely."

It was delivered in a playful way, however-

"...Huh?"

Adam flinched, his mouth gaping.

At least from her facial expressions(which aren't reliable in this case), he can tell that she's telling the truth.

But….Yog-Sothoth, the 2nd strongest Outer God, being lonely?!

"Whew…" The silver-haired boy breathed a sigh of relief, patting his chest repeatedly. "I'm so glad you appeared in the form of a cute little girl. Otherwise, this scene would have been really weird and sanity-reducing."

He spoke his true thoughts- for there's nothing that can be concealed from the being before him.

"Of course!" The Eldritch abomination's smile brightened. "After all, I wouldn't want to scare you of all people. And I mostly use this form anyway."

Her voice, though still carrying that cutesy lilt, reverberated through the space itself.

"Oh? So I have something that even a being like you finds interesting?"

The transmigrator smiled with an easy-going attitude, however inwardly, he wanted to cry!

'Please don't find me interesting! I don't want to be assimilated or trapped here forever!'

Eldritch gods are crazy. One can't use normal logic on them.

One finding you interesting can be worse than death!

'Although you're a cute girl and I wouldn't mind being with you, I really don't want to stay in one place for eternity!'

After these thoughts formed in his mind, the environment around him surged and vibrated.

Near his head, at the area of his temples, streams of whitish information streams came into being.

"Are those…?"

Adam stared in utter shock as these streams of information naturally drifted over to the cute girl in front of him.

"Oh…?"

They settled over her arm. And as Yog touched them, she let out a surprised sound.

"Is that what you think?" A faint hint of amusement colored her tone. "Since you're so special, I can give you a chance to pursue me~"

Faced with this heart-throbbing chance, the silver-haired boy remained unmoved.

"Are you reading my mind?"

He simply asked. Not 'can you', but 'are you'. Thinking that a being like 'her' can't read his mind is simply an insult.

"Nope. I would never read the thoughts of someone like you." She shook her head, popping the 'p'. "But in this space, strong emotions, desires, or thoughts in general will manifest in this form."

The drifting orbs around her shifted subtly, a few drawing closer to Adam, their surfaces reflecting his figure in warped, incomprehensible ways.

"Oh."

The silver-haired boy nodded in casual acknowledgement, not really caring.

If it were anyone else, he would have been afraid. But this is literal Yog-Sothoth….and most importantly, this is Yog-chan, a cute girl whose true form is an Eldritch abomination!

"Mhm?"

Apparently, that was a wrong thought. Because it was so strong that it instantly transformed into an information streak and was snatched up by her immediately.

Though it's indeed quite weird. This Eldritch being truly acts like a normal, human girl- or at least, a normal, logical, and understandable being.

"Ahem. Though I have a vague conclusion…." To alleviate the awkwardness about having such thoughts exposed, he coughed and hurriedly asked what was on his mind. "Can you tell me why I'm so special?"

Yog-Sothoth watched him for a moment longer before her smile widened.

"It's simple: I know everything, and this also makes everything meaningless. Every possible future and possibility is merely part of my knowledge."

She continued with a sigh, resting her chin more comfortably against her hand.

"I can also do anything I want, but again, it's all meaningless." The white-haired girl stroked her cheek in distress. "To be honest, I don't really understand my true self. Why make an avatar here? Why give me emotions? Why give me individuality?"

She puffed her cheeks, pouting cutely. She is looking every bit like a little girl acting coquettish with her lover to get something from him.

"...."

Hearing this, Adam trembled. Chills ran up his spine as the truth was casually uttered by 'HER'.

-The Yog-Sothoth of GGZ is just a mere clone?!

Oh, the fact that she's a clone changes nothing for him? That's okay then!
