Chapter 613 - Chapter 613: Monstrous Voice

Another change in the setting, letting the molten steel's heat be pulled in nearby and changing the walls again to expose more of the sun at the bottom. From sweets to lava, from joy to wrath, a Volcanic eruption before everyone, The magma pooled over and began to form appendages, all aimed and attempting to swat down or hold Harvard in place. Despite this, the boy ran as fast and as hard as his little legs could, swinging the blade at every pool when they get too close, leaving waves in his place, openings he could cross without fear before getting away when they flood back. With the excess in both energy and the environment, Barklode was starting to breathe heavily. Keeping up such an illusion was no problem, but the effects said illusion has, alongside his overweight build, would make him lose momentum fast. The longer he remained in Simulacrum, the more likely he's going to die by his own Magic. Jesta even took notice of this and mockingly laughed, silently egging on that his fate was sealed the moment he aggravated the child. "Hush yourself and FOCUS! He'll be after both of our heads if he's freed!" He'd shout.

"Oh, no, no, no. He's after YOUR heads. I may be his long-term goal, but even a child knows they don't rush to the ultimate threat directly. Now THAT would be suicide!" Jesta kept laughing, watching to see how he was going to handle a rabid child, watching as Barklode had to dance in the lava to dodge and weave Harvard's attacks, clapping along as the arcs and partings of the magma let him close the distance faster and faster. It was here when Barklode noticed the other monsters were surrounding the pool, most of which still grieved and suffered, while only a select few were eyeing on him for their moment to strike. A revelation before the Scientist, as he'd be quick to change scenery.

These Monsters that weren't phased must be from an outside source. Most likely ones bound by Harvard's control.

He'd let himself go high up to the monsters, watching as both them and Harvard close in, attempting a pincer maneuver. A smile was on his face as he switched the world itself, inverting it, the sky as the floor and the ground as their ceiling, quickly spinning so as to avoid both, letting them crash into each other and descend, letting them fall at the never ending sky and be engulfed by the Star, even having one of the monsters, Rhodes, be thrown in and attempt to crush the child away further, seeing if such a simulacrum holds outer space or if there would be a limit to the free-fall. Furthermore, he'd synergize this by dragging along and switching places of both monsters, with Rhodes being close to clock Harvard across his body. It was like a meteor when the machine came down, and yet, Harvard noticed the other monsters weren't willing to budge. They were still trapped under the illusion. He couldn't move out of the way from Rhodes' attack, yet he also didn't wish to. He can hear his pain within this false world.

BAM!!!!

A direct hit, as the monsters fell downwards to the infinite sky. Barklode would try to breathe and regain his stamina, standing over the inverted world he made, finally given peace and opportunity. "...I get it, okay." He'd began, prompting an immediate glare from the scientist as soon as Harvard spoke up. It was as if his voice reached through, breaking through the Simulacrum and speaking to all as he fell. "You're scared. You don't know what to do, especially after being boxed in for who knows how long. You're hurt, and the only thing your mind wants is to be free. You want out so badly, that the second the exit is gone, you crack. Despite that... Aren't you still human!?"

KRA-COOM!

Immediate lighting at the child, straight through his torso as he dared to speak back their senses, an attempt to silence him. Yet, he still breathed. He still spoke, even as blood spat and spilled out from his mouth and wound. "You all have FAMILIES! FRIENDS! People who care about you, MISS YOU! Don't you want to see the real sun, to touch real grass, to talk with real people again!? It's scary, I know. I very much know, but choosing to be scared means forfeiting your life to HIM!"

"IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT!?"

"ENOUGH!" Another lightning strike, as well as hellish winds tossing and throwing him around, battering him over like a drum. "I've HAD it with this miserable insect! How many beatings must it take to ensure you DIE!?" His fury was getting palpable, his body getting tired by the minute, losing his breath as he realize such resilience is making the illusion fade faster.

He'd calm himself as he'd began taking matters in his own hands. Barklode tried to make the atmosphere crush under everyone, making sure the pressure was enough to destroy the child inside out, all to prevent his speech from coming out.

Again, and again, he was shoved around and crushed under. The other monsters watched on as the child kept trying to open his mouth, only to be silenced for daring to speak the truth. Harvard's eyes began to well up, suffering the damage the Scientist gave, crying as he kept trying to speak. Even when he was pushed down, he'd kept rising, his ribs stabbing outward and forming wings to fly, to slash with the very blade his weakened arms were struggling to hold. In that small window, he speaks one more time. "Let me bore this into everyone's heads. Let me tell you what you should all be thinking in this despair. If you truly believe your lost... scream this from the bottom of your soul like I have! Scream these words like life depends on it!"

"What I want most... What you ALL should want most..."

"IS! TO!! LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!!!!!!!"

Silence.

The monsters within the Bunker began to remember once more. One had a child on the way, needing money to protect the offspring when it arrived, wanting nothing else than to see and cherish his baby. One had a grandfather on life support, wanting nothing else than to visit their grave and apologize for not being there when they were gone. One had friends that were drafted in the war, wanting nothing else than to see them again and rekindle that bond. One by one, the beasts remembered who they were, the propaganda washing away. They, too, began to cry, as they recovered what they lost. They were human before, and even with this new state, the monsters can't help but cry in knowing they have it back.

All this time, they thought they were just mindless animals. All this time, such victims remembered they were born for a purpose. For a reason.
