"His soul... it's beyond anything I've ever seen. It's mangled, but also bound. It's as if so many lives have been played throughout it..."
Barklode would be amazed at the sight, burning through the demons as the two conversed, being able to strike through his chest with a direct laser blast, attempting to corrupt that very soul and let it break out into his body. As he shot through, however, he saw it. Each and every beast worm around and adapt to the very magic itself. Not only did his body regenerate from the damage, he'd counterattack with his blood into ink, quickly etching a command towards the Sun with Kuro: "Fall." Immediately, the Sun sets, plummeting down to the bunker's floor, blazing through the rubble and forced to be buried under more. Barklode would take in the surrounding area as fuel, energy to gain further heat and expand its size, allowing him to expel it in the form of spear-like projectiles, coming in waves to ensure he was caught into it. To his surprise, the Scientist watched as Harvard evaded each shot fired.
Nay, it was as if he danced with the Danmaku.
His eyes never left its gaze on Barklode, weaving elegantly, his hair flowing shortly before catching itself back up, quickly using Genomix and one of the Bunker's Monsters, Nucleo, to let his body warp around and evade every shot, giving himself a slime-like physique in the process. This further compounds when he blasts down his own wave of projectiles in the form of Onyx's tar, letting it ignite and become flames to strike back. Of course, this puzzles the Sun, making him wonder why go through such efforts for an attack that would barely reach out and affect him. That was until he noticed that some of the flames were flickering in an odd pattern, a sign that someone tampered with it. He'd try his best to evade such hail of fire, before noticing what was going on around him. While the monsters themselves were embedded within the child...
the Souls themselves aren't.
Lights began to hover over, floating to the top. Lights with faces that Barklode was able to recognize in his many years of experimenting within the Bunker. The souls and spirits of those that were inside, the victims of his vile progress under his hands. "How did you..." He'd mumble to himself, before being grappled by a few, still spurred on by Harvard's words, desperate to hold him steady and force him to take the hit of the raining flames. He'd try to ignite himself and blind those nearby, but doing so would only let him see that they no longer possess proper eyes. No longer they possess proper hands. The augments and torturous changes he made came to fruition, all at his detriment. They were like angels, divine in appearance, risking their lives to enact their own justice. They never spoke up like before, and they didn't need to. Their faces say everything.
The Sun looked back up towards Harvard, noticing with the light made, his own body was shadowed. A mere silhouette before him, yet one that acts as the people's symbol. His wings would detach and form themselves into the Sun and Moon, Inti and Quilla, quickly letting them merge and become an Eclipse, doubling everyone's magic. The souls were becoming restless, their strength magnified due to being mere energy. Even when Barklode himself was strengthened and tried to take advantage of it, it did little to prevent the flames touching him, for a virus to emerge and spread across, slowly disintegrating the sun, its own experiment.
If a Sun would have a Heart, ready and willing to be taken by the populace.
Despite such torture, Barklode remained unfazed. Even as he could feel such a perfect sphere become misshapen, he only gazed at the people and the Cursed Child, his own soul present. The swarm of monsters that beats alongside it. "To think of all things... I would be searching for an answer to rid such beasts like you. In its place... I have created a Monster unlike any other. I have been tasked to learn such creatures like yourself... and I succeeded."
"What a marvelous Tragedy before you, my friend..." The Devil taunted, reduced to a contract again in order to avoid any damage, the flames quickly licking at the pages and beginning to burn up. "Although, I highly doubt you'd live long enough to experience it properly. I was going to induct Judgement, but this is more than fitting for a punishment. To die behind your very progress..."
"...Who says I'm dying?" A pause by the Demon as Barklode would make a last ditch effort to keep himself alive, charging a beam right as his heart's exposed and the souls pull him apart to take it for themselves. Harvard would get in the way of the shot once it fired, catching it and spreading the Eclipse overhead to act as its shield from the light outside. He noticed quickly that Barklode would morph much the same, whatever remained of his ugly soul has become tainted by the sun, burned down to such a spiritual level, letting the body blow up in a flash of light as he tried to worm his way into Harvard's being. "If I can reach through and hide into his heart... I can be just as immortal! I can act as another, start fresh, do it all again and without any fear of-" His words were cut as his legs were grabbed and pulled back, the souls demanding more. He'd struggle to kick and slap them off, but they were just as restless. A laugh came from the contract as it watched on and saw such struggles, slowly forcing him to mingle with the other bodies, watching as another soul took his place, quickly taking a Monster and escorting himself out willingly. "NO!! THAT'S MY SPOT!! THAT'S MY RIGHT!!! I MADE THIS, I DESERVE ITS CREDIT!!!" He'd shout, watching as the beam reached higher, the progress he made delivered directly to Wyvios' whereabouts.
He even saw off the corner of his eye the Shadow that plagued him already escaping, a dagger in tow. Everything he's made is leaving his grip. Everything he's made would soon be reduced to nothing. "There's the reaction I wanted." The Devil added, watching as Barklode blended away. "To let all you achieve be used against you. To let all you earn be taken away. For a researcher on par with Publiq, You are merely an asset. Nothing more." The Contract burns away as the Scientist's life disappeared alongside. Harvard stood atop the souls as he watch them vanish, their spirits either ascending or descending. Either way, they parted with a smile, as the Bunker finally buries itself.
