Kazuo was such a gentleman. He had cooked me a wonderful breakfast, given me beautiful flowers, and confessed his feelings to me. Even if I couldn't reciprocate them, I appreciated his gesture. He was a good man. Kind, smart, loyal. He deserved someone who could love him back. But I was unsure if I could.
My heart still ached for Raikū. It had been over years since he died, but the pain was still fresh. I missed him every day. I missed his smile, his jokes, his inventions. I missed his touch, his voice, his presence.
But I also knew I had to move on. For my son's sake, and for my own. I couldn't dwell on the past forever. I had to face the future. And maybe, just maybe, Kazuo could be a part of it.
