In the small dining room adjoining the bedroom, a table full of food was laid out.
There was nourishing mushroom soup, digestible dumplings, steaming glutinous rice balls, freshly steamed osmanthus cake, and also the freshly ordered, once-a-day stewed pigeon from Philip Shaw.
Each dish was exquisite, served in gilded Jingdezhen porcelain bowls, matching the Shaw Family's elegance and meticulousness.
The servant who came in to attend to Aldana Candi carefully ladled a bowl of pigeon soup in front of her, speaking softly, "Miss Candi, please have a bite. This is specially ordered by the Young Master. If you can't eat anything else, you can skip it, but you must eat this every time in the future."
Along with the pigeon, there were many nourishing herbs, specially intended to help restore her health.
