—Down the road—
Lorenzo's POV
A few minutes down the road I rolled the car to a halt as I was face to face with the traffic light which flashed red. To kill time, I fished around for my phone, my attention on the light and not on the movement of my fingers.
5 seconds or so later, my hand was still met with nothing. Frowning, I briefly glanced to the passenger seat where my phone should be. The frown changed to an expression of surprise as I didn't spot the device.
My left hand still on the wheel, I checked the places it should be, even going as far as to stare at the back seats. Confusion set in as I wondered where my phone should be as I dug my fingers into the pocket of my slacks, still I came up with nothing.
Narrowing my lids, I searched my brain for where it could be until an image flashed through my mind. I had left it on the counter before I picked up the coffee cup. I must have forgotten it with Rachel's appearance.
