It was the day after the volleyball tournament, and the Miyamura family was bustling around their cozy kitchen, preparing bento for their planned picnic. The aroma of freshly cooked rice filled the air as Iori, Izumi's mother, skillfully packed the delicate onigiri, while Naozumi, Izumi's father, worked on the savory teriyaki chicken skewers.
Izumi, his school uniform exchanged for a more casual attire suitable for their family outing, couldn't help but ponder aloud, "Do you think we'll see cherry blossoms today?"
Iori glanced at the calendar on the wall and chuckled, her hands gracefully molding the rice balls. "Well, dear, cherry blossoms usually bloom in spring. It's summer now, so I'm afraid we might have missed them."
Naozumi, placing the skewers neatly in a container, nodded in agreement. "That's right, son. Cherry blossoms are a symbol of spring in Japan."
Izumi, a hint of disappointment in his voice, sighed softly. "I read somewhere that some places have summer cherry blossoms. Maybe we'll get lucky."
Iori paused her work, offering a playful smile to her son. "Well, you never know. The Tsutsujigaoka Park did have summer blossoms before. If we're lucky, we might catch a glimpse."
Izumi brightened up at the thought. "That would be amazing! I hope we get to see them."
But his excitement was met with a gentle reminder from Iori. "Alright, Izumi, enough chit-chat about cherry blossoms. We're already running a bit late. Help your dad with the bento preparation."
Naozumi chuckled, pointing a teasing finger at Izumi. "She's right, son. I may have overslept a bit today, but we should hurry. We don't want to miss our picnic adventure at Tsutsujigaoka Park."
Izumi smiled, eager to embrace the day ahead with his family. Together, they continued their preparations, the anticipation of their summer outing to Tsutsujigaoka Park growing with each passing moment.
After finishing all the preparations, the Miyamura family left their home, ready for their day of adventure at Tsutsujigaoka Park. Naozumi took the driver's seat, with Iori and Izumi sitting comfortably in the car. The engine roared to life, and they embarked on a short 8-kilometer journey to the park.
Upon reaching the park's entrance, Naozumi expertly navigated the car to a parking spot. He then got out, leaving Iori and Izumi in the car for a moment. As he returned, they all exited the vehicle and were greeted by the bustling atmosphere of the park. The place was teeming with families, couples, and friends, all eager to enjoy the summer day.
Izumi, taking in the lively scene, remarked, "There are so many people here!"
Naozumi chuckled and replied, "Of course, it is. Tsutsujigaoka Park is one of the most popular picnic spots in Miyagi Prefecture. People come from all over to enjoy its beauty."
"You know, Izumi," Naozumi continued, "I thought you will become more comfortable around people after the volleyball tournament."
Izumi sighed softly, shifting his gaze from the lively parkgoers back to his father. "It's not that I have a problem with people, Dad," he explained. "It's just that I don't really want too much attention on myself, I'd rather stay in the background."
Naozumi nodded in understanding. "I see,"
With their picnic basket and blanket in hand, they ventured further into the park. They soon discovered a serene spot near a large pond, shaded by a unique type of tree. The tree's branches provided a pleasant canopy, sheltering them from the warm summer sun.
As they settled on their blanket, they observed the park's surroundings. To their surprise, several cherry blossom trees, although devoid of their iconic pink blossoms, offered a unique and captivating view.
The giant pond sparkled under the sunlight, and families were seen picnicking, children playing, and couples strolling along the paths. It was a delightful sight, showcasing the park's charm and the sense of community it fostered.
The Miyamura family felt a sense of contentment as they began their picnic, surrounded by nature's beauty and the cheerful atmosphere of Tsutsujigaoka Park
Under the shade of the tree, the Miyamura family began to enjoy their homemade bento while taking in the picturesque scenery of Tsutsujigaoka Park. The sunlit pond shimmered as gentle ripples crossed its surface, and the serene atmosphere of the park was perfectly complemented by the delicious aroma of their meal.
Izumi opened his bento to find neatly arranged compartments filled with an array of mouthwatering dishes. The sweet aroma of teriyaki chicken filled the air as he picked up a piece with his chopsticks. A symphony of flavors danced on his taste buds as he savored the tender, perfectly seasoned chicken.
Beside him, Naozumi indulged in a fragrant bowl of miso soup, taking slow sips as he enjoyed the warm comfort it provided. He looked out over the pond and remarked, "This place is really very beautiful"
Izumi and Iori nodded in agreement, a contented smile gracing their lips. Izumi continued to explore his bento, discovering delicious morsels of tamagoyaki and pickled vegetables. Each bite was a delightful combination of textures and flavors.
'thank god there's no okra in it'
Iori, who had prepared the bento, watched her family with satisfaction. She had included a variety of dishes to cater to their different tastes. She delighted in the sight of her husband and son enjoying the meal she had lovingly prepared.
As they ate, they noticed families and friends around them engaged in similar picnic experiences. Children ran around chasing bubbles, couples shared moments of laughter, and groups of friends enjoyed a relaxed afternoon under the trees.
The pond, despite being a summer oasis, held its own charm with its emerald green water adorned by lily pads and waterfowl. A gentle breeze rustled the leaves above, creating a soothing melody that added to the park's serene ambiance.
As the Miyamura family enjoyed their breakfast amidst the tranquil scenery of Tsutsujigaoka Park, Naozumi leaned back comfortably, his gaze wandering over the picturesque landscape. He couldn't help but feel the urge to explore the park further, to soak in all its natural beauty.
With a contented sigh, he turned to his wife, Iori, who was savoring the bento they had prepared. He gently nudged her shoulder and whispered, "Iori, what do you say we take a little stroll after this delicious meal?"
Iori looked up from her meal, her eyes meeting Naozumi's. She smiled warmly, appreciating his suggestion. "That sounds like a wonderful idea," she replied. "It'll be a great opportunity for Izumi to explore the park and see if there's any sign of those summer cherry blossoms he mentioned."
Naozumi nodded in agreement, his gaze shifting to their son, Izumi, who was munching contentedly on his breakfast. "Izumi, how about it?" he asked. "Ready for a little adventure through the park?"
Izumi looked up, a sparkle of curiosity in his eyes. He nodded eagerly. "Yeah, Dad, that sounds fun! I'd love to explore the park some more and see what we can find."
With the unanimous decision made, they began to wrap up their breakfast, carefully storing away the bento boxes. The prospect of their leisurely stroll through the park filled them with anticipation, a shared family adventure awaiting them on this beautiful day.

Under the vibrant summer sun, the Miyamura family strolled through Tsutsujigaoka Park, side by side. The park's vastness stretched before them, with well-maintained pathways guiding their way. They walked alongside the serene ponds, where the reflections of the greenery danced on the water's surface.
The towering trees provided a welcome shade, and the occasional breeze brought a gentle rustling of leaves. The family moved at a leisurely pace, taking in the picturesque surroundings. Naozumi had his camera ready, capturing the beauty of the park as they went along.
Izumi led the way, his steps light and carefree. He occasionally paused to examine something that caught his interest—a vibrant flower, a particularly intricate tree bark, or the ripple of a fish in the pond.
As they continued, they noticed other families and couples enjoying the park. Children played on the playground, their laughter adding to the cheerful ambiance. Elderly couples sat on benches, sharing quiet moments of reflection.
Iori and Naozumi exchanged fond glances, appreciating the simple joy of being together in such a tranquil setting. The park's natural beauty and the shared experience of their outing created a sense of unity among them, reinforcing the bond that had always held their family so tightly.
With every step, they ventured deeper into the heart of the park, eager to explore more of its hidden treasures.

The Miyamura family, after a long walk in the park, finally took a seat on a bench overlooking the calm waters of the pond. As they relaxed, Izumi couldn't help but comment on their lack of cherry blossoms sightings.
"We haven't seen any cherry blossoms yet," Izumi remarked, looking a bit disappointed.
His mother, Iori, turned her gaze to the serene pond and nodded, "Yes, dear. Well, we did expect that, didn't we?"
Izumi listened to his mother's words and nodded in agreement, "Yeah, you're right, Mom. We should have come here during the cherry blossom season, which is usually from mid-March to early April."
Iori smiled and added, "Well, We can always come here to see cherry blossom during cherry blossom season next year"
Naozumi nodded in agreement and replied, "That's sounds like a plan"
After a moment of silence, Iori turned to her husband with a thoughtful expression and said, "Come to think of it, wouldn't it be even closer for us to come here next year? I mean, it's not too far from Miyagino."
Naozumi considered her words and nodded, "You're absolutely right. Miyagino is pretty much right next to Tsutsujigaoka"
Izumi, feeling puzzled by his parents' conversation, couldn't help but interject, "Closer?...Miyagino!! Stop! Stop!!~ What are you guys talking about?"
Both of his parents shifted their attention to him. Iori suddenly realized and looked at Naozumi, saying, "Oh, we forgot to tell Izumi about that, didn't we?"
Naozumi sighed, and admitted, "Ahhh!, we did indeed forget to tell him about it, in between the excitement for Izumi's tournament"
As his parents started talking between themselves, Izumi once again interrupted them, his curiosity getting the better of him.
He asked, "Would you guys mind telling me what you didn't mention because of my tournament?"
His parents shifted their attention back to him, and Iori apologized, saying, "Gomen gomen! What we're talking about is that we will be moving to Miyagino, probably next spring or winter. Isn't that right?" She looked at her husband for confirmation, and Naozumi nodded in agreement.
Shocked by the sudden news of moving, Izumi asked his parents why they were planning to move. Iori replied, "Do you remember the building we've been constructing in Miyagino?"
Izumi nodded and said, "The 8-story one?" Listening to her son, Iori nodded and continued, "Yes, that's the one. The construction is almost finished, with only the coloring and some other small things left...."
Naozumi then took over the explanation and said, "We've decided to move there once it's ready"
Izumi was curious and asked, "But didn't you originally build that house for renting?" His mother explained, "Well, we did plan that initially, but midway through the construction, we changed our plans for the upper floors. The cake shop and the mall are very close to the new building, so we decided to make ourselves an apartment there."
Naozumi added, "Except for our apartment, all the other floors will be given for rent." Iori nodded in agreement, saying, "That's right."
Izumi understood their plans for the new building. Then he asked about their current house, "So, what are you going to do with the house we live in now?" His father replied, "We're planning to turn it into a convenience store, or maybe we can rent it out."
As they continued talking, Iori asked her husband about the expansion of the cake shop. Naozumi explained that they planned to start working on it after the mall's inauguration. Hearing this, Izumi's eyes lit up with excitement. He exclaimed, "Whoa! You're expanding the cake shop too!"
Naozumi elaborated, mentioning they were planning to add a room at the back of the shop. They intended to create an additional reception area and gate, and they even considered hiring some workers. Izumi's eyes sparkled with excitement, and he eagerly expressed his willingness to help at the shop.
Iori, his mother, responded with a warm smile but reminded him to focus on his studies and volleyball. Izumi, however, persisted, saying, "I'll focus on those things, but I really, really, really want to help at the shop!" His father chimed in, advising him not to forget that school would be starting again in just three days and he could always help out at the shop in his free time.
Naozumi's reminder about school approaching in three days made Izumi realize that the picnic day was a lovely break before returning to his routine. Although he had mixed feelings about moving and the changes happening in his family's life, the warmth of their time together and their support buoyed his spirits.
As the Miyamura family continued their conversation and enjoyed the peaceful ambiance of the park, they knew that their bonds were growing stronger, just like the roots of the cherry blossom trees that would bloom in Tsutsujigaoka Park during the next spring, promising new beginnings.
With the sun gently caressing their faces, they decided to make the most of the remaining time at the park. Laughing and chatting, they set off on another leisurely stroll through the picturesque landscape, cherishing these moments together as a family.
And so, under the azure summer sky, the Miyamura family walked hand in hand, ready to embrace the changes ahead, with the promise of blossoms in the future and the sweet taste of family unity in their hearts.
