Chapter 216 - The Solum Mirror Absorbs Beast Souls

Bian activated the Emperical Will as he stepped forward to break the egg. If he broke it with just the Emperical Aura active, it was very likely he would just get a sacred-blood beast soul.

He cleaved the egg apart with his palm.

[Egg broken, identifying beast soul...]

A black cheetah with blue spots appeared out of the egg. Blue lightning crackled around the beast, turning it into a bolt of lightning as it rushed into his head.

[Beast soul of super creature lightning cheetah: gem type]

"I knew it! I knew it would be a gem type beast soul. Sadly, this will most likely be the last nest I will ever visit."

With the Emperical Will still active, Bian wasted no time fusing the gem type beast soul and Phantom Mare.

The Phantom Mare released black inky threads from hundreds to thousands. The black inky threads wrapped around the creature, forming a cocoon.

Bian was almost tempted to use his last chess piece to speed up its evolution, but he held off on the idea.

Without a mount, Bian climbed on Tyrant's shoulder and the two left the nest.

Beast souls were still flying into his soul sea, which was a bit depressing. Initially, when he summoned the Solum Mirror, the beast souls would fill up its soul counter, but now they entered his sea of soul directly.

Bian didn't know if it was because the range of the creatures was too great, or if fusing with the Altering Brush had shifted some delicate balance.

He wished he could throw the beast souls into the mirror and not his sea of soul.

"Wait!"

Bian gasped, and his heart skipped a beat. He once thought that if he found a person with thousands of souls trapped in them, he could send the Solum Mirror into them to feast.

But wasn't he the person with thousands of souls, more specifically beast souls, in him? And the Solum Mirror also stayed in his sea of soul when it wasn't summoned.

Bian excitedly commanded the Solum Mirror to absorb the nearest beast soul, which was an ordinary Iron-tooth rat.

[Gold Solum Mirror]

[Retaliation: 0/700]

[Soul Capacity: 61/700]

"It worked, it actually worked! Why didn't I think of this before?"

Bian was ecstatic. He sent the Solum Mirror to consume those beast souls he had from the earlier sanctuaries which couldn't serve a purpose anymore.

When it was done with that, he began by having it absorb the ordinary beast souls in his sea of soul.

Unfortunately, he hadn't spent a lot of time in the fourth sanctuary and had most times prioritised filling the Solum Mirror over getting beast souls.

By the time he had consumed all the ordinary beast souls, the soul counter had only reached around three hundred.

Next, he consumed all the primitive and mutant beast souls and had to grit his teeth before he consumed all the sacred-blood beast souls.

[Soul Capacity: 607/700]

Slowly, as more creatures died, the counter would rise. Bian didn't have to worry about not getting enough souls to max out his geno cores at the very least.

Still on Tyrant's shoulder, he commanded him to head towards the teleporter.

By the time Bian got back there, he had gotten enough souls to max out the Soul Capacity of the Solum Mirror.

[Gold Solum Mirror]

[Retaliation: 0/700]

[Soul Capacity: 700/700]

[Advance / Transfer]

[Maximum Soul Capacity Achieved. Advance the Solum Mirror?]

"Advancing the Solum Mirror would be good, but it's not what I need right now."

Bian transferred three hundred souls to bring the Cauldron up to Gold. It was now the Gold Cauldron.

He waited for half a day, amassing enough souls to level it up again to gemstone class.

[Gemstone Cauldron]

[0/1500]

Bian looked at the shiny purple cauldron with interest. It seemed to have been carved from one piece of beautiful purple gem.

He could control the Cauldron to fly and that wasn't even the best part.

The human sized Cauldron began to expand like a hot air balloon. It grew past the size of a cow, then an elephant, a building, a hill, and finally a mountain.

"It's freaking huge!"

Bian reckoned that even if he couldn't fight with it, he could smother his enemies to paste with the sheer size and weight of the cauldron.

Cracks formed underneath where it stood, so Bian knew it was definitely increasing in weight as it grew.

Both him and Tyrant jumped into the Cauldron. It was like a large purple arena on the inside.

Suddenly, a swirl appeared and headed towards them.

Bian was shocked. He thought the Cauldron was trying to refine them. Just as he was about to put it away, he saw Tyrant opening up his palm.

The energy swirl, which was akin to a flushing toilet, brushed them by, but Bian couldn't feel a thing.

Crushing sounds erupted from the squished body of the dragonfly as it was constantly pressed and deformed.

In a couple of minutes, the body of the dragonfly was turned into a small pill.

Bian picked it up and placed it in one of the bottles he purchased from Dust-Air Shelter.

He recalled the cauldron and Tyrant, but did not leave yet. He was observing both Executioners.

Executioner Black was very, very fast. His claws could cut through anything, and his eyesight was something special. Bian couldn't observe him for long if he wanted to avoid him finding out.

"That should be Executioner Red."

He looked like a middle-aged man with a buff physique. Bian couldn't exactly see colours using the Emperical Aura, but he mused that the Executioner's hair should be red in colour.

Especially that beard which flowed like fire. It would be a great shame for his hair not to be a fiery colour.

"It's too bad that they are so far away though. Even if they were closer and I tried to fight them, the sanctuaries might push me out."

Bian could only sigh before he returned to the Alliance.

He was pleasantly surprised to find that his injuries were healing at a faster pace.

"It must be because I levelled up the Cauldron. It is directly tied to the inner pillars which affect my physique."

Bian spent the day chatting or helping with family affairs.

The next day, he went out to help formulate a cure for an ancient virus. It was a difficult task, but thanks to his wide knowledge of ancient languages, he was able to decipher a key part of the language, and the scientists did the rest.

He spent the other half of the day in the sanctuaries using the teleporter at the Saints Hall.

Just by standing in one place, Bian could amass beast souls in the dozens per hour.

[Sacred-blood creature Fire-born Beast killed. The beast soul has been acquired.]

The Executioners spent most of their time practising and eating. They didn't have to worry about fighting, but most creatures were very large and took a lot of time to be eaten.

Bian checked the beast soul of the Fire-born Beast, finding it to be a mount.

"I already have a mount which would be a super creature when it is done evolving. I don't need a sacred-blood one."

Just as he was about to sacrifice the mount, he seemed to think of something.

He couldn't directly speed up the evolution of the Phantom Mare, but what if he fused it with the Fire-born Beast?

Bian reasoned that if anything ill happened, he could always get a new mount.

He didn't waste any more time thinking and fused the evolving Phantom Mare with the Fire-born Beast.

"Argh!"

Once again, he was fusing a super beast soul. The uncomfortable feeling of his lifespan leaving his body, was something he would never get used too.

The feeling was particularly painful this time around, almost causing Bian to fall to his knees.

The cocoon and the creature turned to indigo light which melted into one another.

The light kept twisting and turning before it eventually settled on a shape.

A dreadful roar shook his sea of soul as the fusion was completed.

A dark shadowy horse with raven black wings was born. The horse had cracks all around its body filled with deep blue lightning.

"It took on the lightning of the lightning cheetah and the cracks of the Fire-born Beast."

[Berserk Super Beast Soul: Nightmare]

Nightmare looked like a horse, but it wasn't a horse; it also looked like a cheetah, but it wasn't a cheetah. This was Bian's second berserk beast soul alongside Tyrant.

"Now I have the means to travel this dreadful place quickly."

Bian returned to the Alliance and went back home. Tomorrow, he would strike the super shelter he had marked.
