Home was a hectic place to be, yet it was full of laughter and warmth.
Bian changed the diapers of little Zhen for the first time. He rendered aid to his little sister and Han Sen concerning some homework before helping out with dinner.
By the time Han Yan returned, dinner was ready. They all ate in the large dining room and packed up for the day.
Early the next morning, Bian discovered that he had recovered to about eighty percent of his full strength.
"We need to get a healer." Bian mumbled again before he left.
He flew to the Alliance Central Military Academy where he would be teaching today, barely managing to get there on time.
Demigods ought to register themselves when their fitness reached a certain level, but due to several security reasons, Bian couldn't do that yet.
"Professor Bai Yishan, over here."
Bian greeted the Professor, who handed him the markers he asked for.
"Are you sure you don't want to use the interactive board? Writing materials are too ancient and way too slow." Bai Yishan was actually concerned Bian would spend the whole day writing instead of actually teaching.
Bian chuckled lightly before he responded.
"It's ancient languages they are learning, I don't see an issue being ancient. Plus, most of the files available on this resource are images, since there are no words for the language in the system. I need to dissect it to be able to teach it well to the best of my abilities."
Seeing as Bian was so confident, Bai Yishan didn't say anything more.
Before Bian reached the field, he could hear some of the discussions among the students.
"For him to be teaching ancient languages, he must be quite ancient himself. Why else would he be using a marker and a whiteboard?"
"I have never heard of him before though, did he just become a professor?"
"I think he is the sponsor of the Echo Geckos."
"Stop spouting nonsense. This is a professor we're talking about."
Bian could hear everything they said, but he was too mature to care about such petty details.
Immediately he arrived, everything settled down. Their manners were quite good.
Not one to waste time himself, Bian uncapped the marker and took a light step forward. His right hand made a single stroke across the board as he brushed past the entire length of it.
Multiple gasps sounded simultaneously.
"How did the entire board get filled up in a blink? Hey, did you see what put that there?"
"Special effects, this has to have been planned beforehand."
"I think I might be dreaming, someone should hit me... ouch, you didn't have punch me!"
"Quiet down! We're starting the class now." The more people found it impressive, the more nonchalant Bian had to act. It was something Man Tian always told him.
With every case study and material he needed on the board, Bian was able to complete the lesson ahead of time and answer some questions.
"Looks like I was worried for nothing. What move did you use to write like that?" Bai Yishan asked, intrigued.
"I used Laceration with a little modification." It wasn't really a secret since Laceration was available in the Saints Hall.
Bai Yishan was gobsmacked. He wanted to say something, but kept it to himself in the end.
Bian knew he probably had some questions on Sweeping Stroke, but it wasn't something that could be learnt just because he taught it.
"Are you sure you don't want to just keep taking this class?" Bai Yishan asked before Bian left.
Bian nodded, saying in a firm voice, "I need my schedule to be so disorganised because of an issue I'm dealing with. All these students could be in trouble if I stayed here for too long."
The alliance was really large, and with Han Yan interfering with karma, the Executioners would not find them as long as they did nothing stupid.
Besides, they had their own issues to deal with and were also fighting for their lives against the New World Organisation.
Bian briefly stepped into the sanctuaries to check if the repulsion had gone down. He was pleasantly surprised to find it had reduced drastically.
"Is this because of the injury caused by practising The Story of Genes?"
He had a feeling that he was correct. Now that he had started practising, the black crystal armour would act up every two days without his consent to keep baptising his body.
Bian initially planned to wait for half a month, when the power would settle down, but now he made up his mind to max out his genes before the power faded and the repulsion grew strong enough to push him out.
He re-entered the Alliance and went home, where he met Han Yan, and they both agreed to meet in the sanctuaries the following day.
On the morrow, the power of the black crystal armour erupted early in the morning. Bian had already told Han Yan about The Story of Genes, but she was still surprised by his condition.
His blood vessels and muscles ripped apart, leaving him looking like a blood man.
"Are you sure you should head into the sanctuaries like this?"
"Yeah, I can't even fight in the first place, the restrictions would push me out. This lowers the repulsion, meaning I can do more with my powers. I always have Tyrant by my side, so no need to worry."
Bian promised not to be gone too long. He would come and pick up Han Yan after he settled some issues.
He appeared in the desolate area, exactly where he had finished off Executioner Yellow.
"I can't use too much strength, if I don't want to get kicked out."
Bian activated the Emperical Aura, drowning the entire sanctuaries in its uniform indigo light. Although the light covered everywhere, Bian couldn't observe everything at once.
He focused his senses, looking for where the largest life forces were gathered, and found a super large shelter with about half a hundred super creatures.
[Ordinary Creature Red Mink killed. Beast soul has been acquired]
[Ordinary Creature Iron-tooth rat killed. Beast soul has been acquired]
[Mutant Creature Holy Winged Beast killed. Beast soul has been acquired]
He marked their location, and just before he put away the Emperical Aura, he gained a couple of beast souls from the creatures that died.
Bian barely felt any repulsion from the sanctuaries due to his injuries. Of course, this put him in danger, but it also gave him the liberty to use other powers for a longer period of time.
[Primitive Creature Iron Golem killed. Beast soul has been acquired]
[Ordinary Creature Dark Scurrying Bug killed. Beast soul has been acquired]
[Mutant Creature Shadow Mare killed. Beast soul has been acquired]
Looking at the beast souls of the Holy Winged Beast and Shadow Mare, Bian was pleasantly surprised to find that they were both mount type beast souls.
Without bringing them out of his sea of soul, he fused both creatures together using the Emperical Decree.
As long as he was bringing a creature up to his level, the Emperical Decree wouldn't be so taxing. He only had to be wary when taking a creature above his level.
[Beast soul of sacred-blood creature Phantom Mare: mount]
Bian summoned the Phantom Mare. A translucent black horse with wings appeared before him. Bian could see the terrain behind the horse as it seemed like an illusion.
He threw a rock at the Phantom Mare and watched the stone travel through the mount as if it was made of smoke or shadow.
Bian was very pleased with the mount, he just hoped he could ride it.
As he climbed on the Phantom Mare, a weird empty power enveloped his body. Bian looked at his hand, which had also become translucent, with intrigue.
"Very good mount, but at sacred-blood. This simply won't do."
Bian commanded the Phantom Mare to head in a direction opposite the shelter he had espied earlier.
The Phantom Mare flew very fast and could phase through annoying obstacles. After half a day, Bian reached an area with red soil.
He had gotten over a hundred beast souls in this time just by keeping the Emperical Aura active. A few unlucky spirits had also died during this time, perishing permanently.
"I could fuse all these beast souls to high end levels and sell them among the human demigods. I reckon I would amass enough wealth to last ten generations."
As Bian was laughing, he saw a pattern form on the ground below. It looked like a giant flower from above.
The first time Bian found a nest was in the first sanctuary. He got a sacred-blood fungus parasite from it. The next time was in the second sanctuary, where he got a super beast soul scorpion gem.
The difference between Bian in the first and second sanctuary was the Emperical Will. He knew he got a gem type super beast soul because he had the Emperical Will active.
Going down the shaft and past the unbroken green crystal wall, Bian was in a new nest. There were countless cells arranged all around the nest.
A lightning fast shadow struck from the dark. It was a large dragonfly with diamond wings.
It attacked the Phantom Mare with its sharp wings, leaving a bruise against its flesh.
"Empty powers are good, but only against creatures of a lower tier. Creatures of the same level or higher can bypass the powers."
Bian lightly sighed and summoned Tyrant, his body was too damaged to fight a sacred-blood creature right now.
"Don't break the egg." He told Tyrant.
The dragonfly zipped around Tyrant, going for the back of his neck.
Pah!
Tyrant's hand moved lightning fast, squashing the dragonfly before it could attack him.
[Sacred-blood Creature Diamond-Blade Dragonfly killed. Beast soul has been acquired. Geno core destroyed. Eat the flesh to gain 0 to 10 sacred geno points randomly]
It was a shame, but he rarely got geno cores because most creatures hadn't summoned them out before they were killed.
With the dragonfly dead, Bian looked at the egg ahead of him with anticipation.
