Travis Miller never expected that one day he would be frightened by Abigail Hemsworth.
Just as he broke through that barrier.
Abigail let out a scream that almost pierced his eardrum.
Afterward came a spasm, her face drained of blood, nearly transparent, frighteningly white.
"It hurts... Travis Miller, are you... trying to kill me?"
Tears streamed down Abigail's face, flowing uncontrollably.
Sweat appeared on Travis's forehead. He gritted his teeth, watching her look almost lifeless, wanting to back away, but she furrowed her brow and called out again.
"It hurts, don't move..."
Travis held back and didn't move.
He pressed his hand to her forehead, leaned down close to her, his voice restrained, subdued, and deep.
"Does it hurt a lot?"
Abigail bit her lip, eyes closed, eyelids and lashes trembling. She nodded haphazardly, perhaps the pain making her feel a bit wronged, sniffling twice.
