Travis Miller never thought there would come a day when he'd be frightened by Abigail Hemsworth.
It happened when he broke through that barrier.
Abigail let out a piercing scream that almost ruptured his eardrums.
Then came a spasm, her face drained of blood, nearly transparent and frighteningly pale.
"It hurts... Travis, are you trying to kill me?"
Tears flowed from Abigail's eyes uncontrollably as a physiological response.
Travis broke out in a cold sweat, gritting his teeth to support his almost weakened body.
Seeing her looking almost lifeless, he considered pulling away, but she furrowed her brow and called out.
"It hurts, don't move..."
Travis held back, staying still.
His hand brushed her forehead as he leaned down, his voice suppressed and deep.
"Does it hurt a lot?"
Abigail bit her lip, eyes closed, her eyelids and lashes trembling. Nodding blindly, sounding pitiful as she sniffled twice.
