Once inside the building, Allen walked through the hallways toward his classroom, leaving the incident with the reporters behind him.
"No!"
"...?"
On the way, Allen ran into a strange situation. The boy who had been sent to Class 1-B on the first day, Mineta Minoru, was stuck to the wall by his own Quirk.
He had tears in his eyes while three girls looked at him as if he were human trash.
Among them, with a cold gaze, was the gray-haired girl Allen had met the previous week—Reiko Yanagi.
Allen had never understood how there were people who deliberately let their hair cover one of their eyes. Wasn't that uncomfortable?
Reiko noticed him as well. The coldness in her gaze faded, and she nodded with a subtle smile in his direction—true to her expressionless personality.
What was curious about this girl named Reiko was that it was common to see her holding her hands at stomach level. It reminded Allen of the peculiar pose of ancient Japanese ghosts.
Next to Reiko was another girl who also noticed Allen and looked at him without any expression.
It was the first time the two of them had seen each other.
[Yui Kodai
Quirk: Size
Type: Emitter]
Yui was a very beautiful young woman, with shoulder-length hair in a bob style, swept to the right, with some shorter strands hanging over her eyes. She had fair skin, an athletic build with noticeable curves, and light blue eyes.
The girl kept staring at Allen without showing any reaction. It was hard to tell what was going through Yui's mind at that moment.
"..." Allen, on the other hand, laughed at the situation and gave her a half-smile, which made Yui open her eyes slightly in surprise.
In the end, despite being expressionless, neither girl was a robot. Of course, they had emotions like any human being. With Reiko, it felt more like emotional indifference born from laziness, while Yui seemed more like someone who simply didn't express her feelings due to a lack of reason to do so.
While the charm of a tsundere lay in making her angry until she lost her temper and got embarrassed, this type of girl was called a kuudere, and her charm was in making them break those masks and show their emotions.
Allen wondered what Reiko and Yui would be like if they got embarrassed.
"Shit, I'm supposed to be avoiding relationships with women in this world!" Allen muttered.
[-_-]
The System, the Chat, and the dolls stared at him without emotion. What was this bastard saying after Toru, Momo, Itsuka, Kazuho, and even Nemuri—who was supposed to be his older sister? And on top of that, the womanizer was already in contact with even more girls.
"Make this the last time you try something like that!"
The third girl, unlike the other two, gave off a very extroverted impression. Proof of that was this situation, where she was practically threatening Mineta.
[Setsuna Tokage
Quirk: Lizard Tail Splitter
Type: Transformation]
Allen blinked when he saw a Transformation-type Quirk. In his experience, the most common ones were Mutant and Emitter types, which made Setsuna's Quirk pique his curiosity.
Setsuna was a girl with an outgoing charm. She was of average height, had large dark green upturned eyes with long lower eyelashes, and noticeably long, sharp teeth. Her hair was a dark moss green, collectively reaching just below her shoulders.
"Ah! I didn't do anything wrong!"
"You little bastard, do you think I don't know you take advantage of your height to try and peek under girls' skirts?! I'll castrate you so you won't contaminate the earth!"
"Ahhh! Nooo!" Mineta screamed desperately, and when he saw Allen, he looked as if he had found his savior. "Allen-sama, help me!"
"...?" Allen blinked in confusion. He didn't remember interacting with Mineta at all. After all, he had been expelled from Class 1-A on the first day.
Seeing Mineta beg, Setsuna turned toward Allen. Her brow was furrowed, but the moment she saw him, she froze.
"Well, well, looks like we've got a VIP with us," she said as she straightened up and took a few steps toward Allen. She looked him up and down, openly stopping at his face and body. Then she smiled, showing her serrated teeth.
"Wow, you're a sexy hunk. If you're at least half as strong as the rumors say, then they must be true~"
Allen laughed. "It's been a while since a beautiful girl was that direct with me."
Setsuna laughed as well. "Oh, you're good with words. I like that!~"
Both Yui and Reiko were left speechless by the interaction between the two.
To them, Setsuna was a brave girl with leadership qualities. She was also honest and not afraid to express her opinions, which was why she had earned the respect of many students in Class 1-B.
However, that same personality could be intimidating. That was the case with Mineta, who was absolutely terrified of her. Of course, it was well deserved—within just one week, the little pervert had earned the hatred of the girls in 1-B by trying more than once to spy on them while they were changing.
"So, what do you say, Allen-sama? Are you going to help this pervert?" Setsuna asked, tilting her head with a touch of flirtation. "Of course, if you want to save him, I couldn't do anything about it. After all, you're the strongest~"
Reiko and Yui looked at Setsuna in disbelief. Was she flirting?!
Allen shook his head and gave Mineta a sideways glance.
"Do you really want to be a hero?"
"Huh?"
"Mineta Minoru, you know that getting into U.A.'s hero course is an incredible achievement. Only forty students out of ten thousand passed. At this rate, you'll be expelled. Are you okay with that?"
"..." Mineta stayed silent. Then he clenched his teeth and growled, "What's it to you?! Someone like you wouldn't understand my feelings! I'm short, ugly, and I don't even have an amazing Quirk! Unlike you, I'll never be popular!"
The moment Mineta finished speaking, he turned pale—he had just insulted Allen Walker. This guy could kill him five times before he even hit the ground.
"No... I didn't... I—"
"Oh, is that what you think?" Allen closed his eyes for a moment. When he opened them, he walked toward Mineta and stopped right in front of him.
At this point, Mineta looked like he was about to wet his pants.
"Indeed, I don't understand you—but not for the reason you think. We can't choose how we look. We can't choose the Quirk we're born with. That's true. It's an uncomfortable truth every hero has to face."
"How many heroes are there in Japan? Thousands? Tens of thousands? How many are there in the world? There should be eight billion people with Quirks in this world, but only a small number have what it takes to be heroes. And from that small number, only ten will make it into the top ten of each generation. Saying that effort alone can achieve that is a lie..."
"But just as there are things we can't change, there are also things we can—among them, ourselves. Ideals, decisions, goals, and attitude. Those are all things we can choose."
"Tell me, were you born predisposed to peeking under girls' skirts? Do you have some genetic condition that forces you to be a degenerate and, as a result, be despised?"
"I..." Mineta didn't know how to answer that.
"The problem here isn't that you're less handsome or less strong. The problem is that you're acting like a potential sexual offender."
"That wasn't my intention!" Mineta went pale. One thing was getting slapped for being a pervert, but if this escalated, he could forget about becoming a hero—he'd end up in a prison cell. After all, he was only one step away from legal adulthood.
(A/N: Let's not forget that all the students started U.A. at seventeen, not fifteen like in canon.)
Even seeing Mineta terrified, Allen showed no mercy.
"Do you want to be a hero?"
"...? Of course!"
"If you truly came here to become one, then start acting like it. Don't just complain about what you don't have if you're not doing anything to improve what you have."
Mineta lowered his head. "I... I'm sorry."
"I'm sorry, girls. This guy might be an idiot, but give him another chance." Allen shook his head and turned toward the three girls with a mocking smile on his face. "Of course, if he tries it again, you're free to castrate him!"
A slight blush formed on Reiko's cheeks, Yui looked away, and Setsuna smiled more broadly.
"No!" Mineta screamed, but everyone ignored him.
"Well then, I'd better get going. I don't want to be late," Allen said to the three girls.
Reiko nodded slowly. "Have a good day."
Setsuna smiled, her face slightly red, and pressed a finger against Allen's chest.
"See you. I hope next time it's a longer conversation~"
"..." Yui nodded at Allen.
Allen raised his hand in farewell, but at that moment, he felt the urge and yawned.
'Looks like some of the laziness from the previous template stuck with me.'
The template Allen had used to help Mt. Lady seemed to come with a laziness debuff—annoying, but not too bad.
The three girls watched Allen's back, each with different thoughts—but the same curiosity.
....
"That was impressive, Allen Walker"
"...?" Allen stopped walking when he heard his name.
When he turned to his right, he saw a robust man leaning against the wall at the corner of the hallway.
"Vlad-sensei?"
"Haha, you don't have to force yourself to use honorifics. I can smell from miles away how uncomfortable they make you."
Sekijiro Kan, better known as Vlad King—professional hero and homeroom teacher of Class 1-B.
"Well, I'll take you up on that. So, what do you need from me, Master Vlad?"
"I heard what you said. I just wanted to show my admiration for your words and thank you for what you did for Mineta."
"I don't think I did anything special."
"That's not true. Mineta, despite not showing it, had been depressed and even resentful about this new student exchange system. And it makes sense—being expelled from Class 1-A is basically like being told you were mediocre from the start. Even I'm not confident I could stay calm in that situation."
"Master Vlad, do you agree with this system?"
"At first, no. Obviously. However, I also understand the reason behind it. They want a strong generation of superheroes, and competition, rivalry, and the fear of falling behind push them to improve constantly..."
Allen noticed from his words that Vlad didn't feel good at all about segregating the less capable students this way. But he also knew it was something deemed necessary.
After saying goodbye, Allen headed to the classroom, where Momo and Toru were waiting for him at the entrance.
....
"Everyone, be quiet."
Aizawa entered the classroom with his usual attitude.
"Before we start today's class."
Class 1-A tensed up. This was normal—one week had passed, which meant someone would be transferred to Class 1-B.
"Rikido Sato..."
The sturdy boy who could convert sugar into strength stood up with a gloomy expression. However, he soon smiled confidently.
"Sorry, everyone. We'll see each other again soon!"
Each week, a new student would arrive and another would leave, but there was no reason for this to feel like a public execution.
Rikido exited the classroom. For a moment, silence filled Class 1-A, but it ended when the door opened once again.
A boy with gray hair split into two sections stepped in. He had no eyebrows, but thick, pale yellow eyelashes surrounding his eyes.
He smiled wildly, like a lion claiming its territory.
"Hello, everyone in Class 1-A! I'm Tetsutetsu! If anyone wants to fight, I'm available!"
[Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu
Quirk: Steel
Type: Transformation]
The entire class felt a sense of déjà vu and turned toward Kirishima. The red-haired boy, who had his arms crossed, smiled wildly as he stood up.
He walked toward Tetsutetsu, and the two stared at each other like tigers about to clash.
"Haha!"
"Haha!"
Tetsutetsu laughed and turned his arm into solid metal like a colossus. Kirishima laughed as well and hardened his own arm. In front of the entire class, they smashed their fists together.
Allen chuckled. "It's like watching brothers."
Everyone agreed with that statement.
"If you're done, sit down. We're in class..."
The icy voice paired with bloodshot eyes sent chills down Kirishima's and Tetsutetsu's spines, and both immediately obeyed.
"Sorry, Aizawa-sensei!" Kirishima said, bowing.
"I'm sorry too!" Tetsutetsu said, doing the same.
Once the class settled down, Aizawa silently observed them, then yawned and walked to the board, writing as he spoke.
– Class Representative: ??? –
"Originally, this should've been decided at the beginning, but I intentionally postponed it for a week to give you time to get to know each other and decide who fits this role. If anyone wants the position, raise your hand."
Everyone's eyes lit up. In a normal school, the class representative position was tedious and unwanted, but in the hero course, it was different—it was essentially a leadership role.
"I want to do it!" Kaminari said.
"I do too," Momo said, raising her hand.
"I'm not letting someone like Kaminari take the position," Itsuka said, raising her hand as well.
"Huh?! Why?!"
This time, even Bakugo and Todoroki raised their hands—not because they wanted to lead, but to avoid being ordered around.
The only surprise was that Allen didn't volunteer. He simply yawned.
'The laziness that X's template left me with is absurd...'
....
Gwen – Allen, aren't you interested in being class leader?
"Not really."
Unohana – That's unexpected. Aside from the responsibilities, I thought you would hate taking orders from others.
"What kind of image do you have of me, Yachiru?" Allen chuckled.
Tony – Think of it as an opportunity to be authoritarian with Bakugo. You could make him clean the floor with a toothbrush every day, Haha.
"Well, that's tempting"
....
"Wait, professor," Iida said, standing up. "The class representative is a very important role, and I don't think it should be decided casually. I propose a vote!"
Aizawa, who shared Allen's level of laziness, leaned back against his desk.
"Do whatever you want. Just don't cause trouble."
With Aizawa's permission, a ballot box was prepared, and each student cast their vote.
"Allen, who did you vote for?" Itsuka asked with a smile.
"I'm curious too," Momo said, one eye half-open.
Toru and Uraraka also turned toward him, curious about his answer.
"Does it matter?" Allen shook his head. He knew that if he said a name, someone else would get upset—even though it was just one vote.
Truthfully, Allen couldn't decide between Itsuka and Momo, since both were responsible and well-suited for the role.
When he didn't answer, Itsuka sighed, and Momo let out a small "Hmph" before looking away.
Aizawa approached the ballot box and counted the votes, but the result left everyone speechless.
There were twenty-two votes total, and sixteen of them were for the same person.
"The class representative will be Allen..."
"Impossible!" Iida looked devastated.
"As expected," Deku said without sounding depressed.
"Yeah, as expected from the strongest," Kirishima added.
"I voted for him because of his actions during the entrance exam," Jiro said, looking away.
"I think he's the most mature among us," Ibara said with a gentle smile.
"I voted for him because he's handsome~" Mina said, laughing.
"I lost to him. He deserves it," Tokoyami said.
"Tsk..." Bakugo grumbled but didn't object.
"Haha! Now I really want to fight you and see if you're that amazing!" Tetsutetsu said, his blood boiling after hearing the comments.
Everyone looked at him like he was an idiot who had no idea what he was getting into.
Aizawa was surprised. In all his years of teaching, he had never seen a class representative receive such overwhelming approval—especially when they barely knew each other.
"Alright then. The class representative will be Allen. Since no one else comes close in votes, he'll choose the vice-representative."
Knowing he couldn't refuse at this point, Allen stood up and walked to the front of the class.
"I won't make any grand promises, but since I've been chosen, feel free to ask me for advice or help if you need it."
Those simple words left everyone surprised. Whether they liked Allen or not, they had to admit he had presence when he spoke.
"Besides, since I can't make up my mind, I want Itsuka and Momo."
"Both of us?!" Momo exclaimed, annoyed.
"I'm greedy," Allen smiled mischievously, and Momo blushed.
The class was speechless at Allen's shamelessness.
Since Aizawa was feeling lazy, he agreed to Allen's whim.
....
Classes continued, and at lunchtime, Allen decided to eat in the cafeteria. Although Itsuka had offered to make him a bento every day, Allen refused so as not to take too much advantage of her kindness.
In the cafeteria, Allen sat with Toru, Itsuka, Momo, and—unexpectedly—Ibara. She seemed to get along very well with Itsuka, so she was naturally invited to join them.
No one objected. After all, she was kind and considerate, making her easy to like.
During the meal, Allen tried to learn more about Ibara, but every time he asked something, Momo and Itsuka gave him disapproving looks, which in turn scared Toru.
This continued until an alarm interrupted them.
Beeep!
– Level Three Alert detected. All students evacuate –
"What does that mean?" Allen asked.
"An intruder!" Momo exclaimed.
Allen narrowed his eyes, using his X-ray vision to look toward the entrance, and noticed a crowd of reporters inside the perimeter.
"What a day..." Allen muttered as he stood up.
It seemed someone was trying to get clever, and Allen suspected it might have something to do with the creepy young man he had seen that morning.
