Chapter 3: Executor Elimination Squad
"What the hell are you doing here, Deku?" Bakugou spat as Izumi was suddenly accosted right in front of UA. Perfect, her day was ruined. Sure, she had vouched for him all those months ago, and she wasn't about to crush his dreams like he tried to do with hers, but it still didn't mean that she wanted anything to do with him. She had hoped that spending nearly a year apart would do him some good, but that seemed to be in vain.
Izumi twisted his wrist just slightly, enough for it to ache somewhat. "Taking the exam, Bakugou. What does it look like?" He looked shocked at her for a moment, before extracting his hand from her grip. It was an odd interaction for the both of them. First, because she had held her ground without budging an inch. Second, because she was now taller than he was.
Bakugou huffed, scowling. "What? Decided to grow a spine or something? Whatever, just stay out of my way, you worthless bitch." He stomped away angrily, well, more than usual anyway. She looked at his back and clenched her fist. She knew she would have to deal with him at UA. However, it didn't mean she looked forward to it.
She then took her own step forward, only to trip on a slightly raised brick. 'Well, this is it… Sorry, mom, Nezu-sensei, Yagi-sensei.' She began plummeting towards the ground, face first. She extended her hands, trying to roll out of her fall, but at that rate she was still going to hurt herself. She closed her eyes, a huge mistake on the field, she knew, but instead of feeling her face impacting the cement, she instead felt all her weight and momentum disappear.
"Hey, are you okay? Sorry for using my quirk without asking, but it's bad luck to fall like that before a test." Izumi looked at the girl who had, seemingly, removed all effects of gravity on her. A rather short, curvy girl with brown hair in a chin length bob and permanent blush marks on her cheeks. She touched all ten of her fingers together, and Izumi immediately felt the weight returning to her. She righted herself so she fell on her feet. "There ya go!" The brunette's smile was blinding. They then got a proper look at each other and froze, both having a simultaneous thought.
"GIRL! CUTE GIRL! SELF DESTRUCT IN 5, 4…"
Izumi managed to recover first, though her face bordered on the hue of a ripe tomato. "Uh, thanks! Yeah, I was worried for a second. Still, that was your quirk? Some sort of weightlessness? Amazing!" She asked, deciding to focus on the quirk instead of the very adorable, blushing girl.
As if snapped out of a thought spiral, the girl stammered out an answer. "Yeah, kind of. It's called Zero Gravity. If I touch anything with all five of my finger pads, it cancels out the effects of gravity." She explained, also trying to distract herself from the girl in front of her. Izumi's eyes widened.
'Wow! That's incredible. But then how did it cancel out my momentum? Maybe it includes some sort of gravity vector or force manipulation? I wonder if she could make things heavier with training. So many applications!' Izumi's thoughts ran free, and unbeknownst to her, so did her mouth. The girl just watched her, frozen in place. Izumi noticed that she had been mumbling again and wanted to kick herself. "Oh, um, I'm so sorry! I just get really excited about quirks, is all. I'm Midoriya Izumi, nice to meet you."
The girl seemed to loosen up after a second. "Oh, no worries, I totally get it. I'm Uraraka Ochako, nice to meet you too." They then spent a moment in silence, thinking on what to say, before a bell sounded out. It was almost time for the exams. "Eep! Well, we better get going, right?"
Izumi scratched the back of her head. "Yeah, right, sorry. Let's go!" They began hurrying inside, the two of them slightly disappointed that they would be in separate testing rooms.
Izumi and Bakugou were once again right next to each other, and the girl just tried her best to ignore the growling boy next to her, which only seemed to anger him further. After a year of studying with Nezu, along with her memory, the test proved to be rather easy. Since she was applying for a double major, the test had two extra sections, support and heroics, aside from general academic knowledge. The essay question demanded a bit more thought, as it was philosophical and open ended in nature. 'What does it mean to be a hero, huh?'
She answered to the best of her abilities, trying to go beyond the usual clichés of saving people and defeating villains. Her answer, in essence, had two elements to it. The first was the thing that drove her to be a hero in the first place. A hero had to make people feel safe, to serve as an example of virtue to society, to strive to improve the world. That's what All Might had done, in her eyes. It was also to inspire others to act kindly to each other, and to make a difference themselves. The second element to her answer, however, she had picked up after a few conversations with heroes. Heroes worked to correct the unfairness of life, to work to better themselves and beat otherwise impossible odds. That's what it meant to be a hero, that's what it meant to Go Beyond.
The support section was the trickiest by far, though with all the studying she did to make her own invention for the practical section, they didn't give her too much trouble. The questions on thermodynamics, which she noted were the hardest ones, were also all related to the device she had made.
Izumi was the first to finish, and she handed her test to Ectoplasm with a wide smile on her face. She bowed slightly and left the room hurriedly. Before she went on to her practical Heroics examination, she had another exam to attend: The Support course practical.
Quite a few of her forms either increased her intelligence considerably or directly interacted with machinery. That, combined with her own interest in plumber tech and support gear made her apply for a double major, given the opportunity. The practical heroics exam wouldn't be for another hour and a half, which gave her and others in the same boat plenty of time to make it. She clutched her bag with pride, hopeful that she would get accepted into both courses. 'Plus Ultra, am I right?'
She went to the waiting room for the first part of the test, a short interview where she would get to show off any invention she had made in her spare parts. The other contestants gave her a wide berth as she prepared. She had used Scientia, Jurryrigg and Brainstorm for most of her inventions. Jurryrigg's ability to create seemingly impossible inventions from mere scrap had more than made up for the drastic effect the transformation had on her psyche. Scientia, unfortunately, lacked the strength needed to put her inventions together, so most of the legwork was left to Brainstorm, who unfortunately suffered from some ego problems.
Still, she didn't really need to transform for the presentation, as she knew the theory behind her project perfectly, from the calculations left behind by Scientia. She fiddled with her device for a moment, when she noticed another figure getting much too close to her.
It was another girl, rather short, with pink hair tied up in dreadlocks. From her manic grin and the way her eyes seemed to bounce all over the device in Izumi's hands, it was clear what had caused her to approach. "Wow, Muscles, that's some pretty awesome tech you got there!" Izumi was put off guard a bit by the girl's lack of consideration for personal space. "I'm Hatsume Mei, genius inventor and future CEO of Hatsume enterprises! I'd love to make some babies with you when we get to UA!"
Izumi choked on air for a second. "WHAT?!" She sputtered, blushing madly, after she averted her gaze from the girl's eyes, only to notice her rather incredible bust. 'Fuck, it this girl for real?'
"Yeah, I mean, with tech like that, think of how many babies we could put together. I'm not much for group work, but I'd be willing to put that aside." Mei said, not at all noticing Izumi's flustered state.
Izumi blinked. "Oh… you mean inventions… thank God." She mumbled. "Yeah, if we get in, I guess we could collaborate on some gear. But it might take a while, since I'm doing a double major in support and heroics." She commented absentmindedly, noticing the girl's grin get even wider. "I'm Midoriya Izumi, by the way."
"Great! Your name's already forgotten!" Izumi felt a twinge of irritation, but felt that Hatsume hadn't really meant it as an insult… she was just genuinely that uninterested in social interaction. "Anyway, I should be up next. Hope you get in, I really wanna make some babies with you!" Izumi smiled rather awkwardly.
"Nice to meet you, I guess, Hatsume." She said, waving her hand slightly.
"Same! See you around!" Mei waved back.
'Huh, she seems nice, though rather unaware of social norms… ASD, perhaps? Though it could be just her interest in machinery. I shouldn't assume.' She paused for a moment. 'Weird, two girls have randomly talked to me today… why does that feel so nice all of the sudden? I mean, Nejire and Lucy are nice to me, so are Tamaki and Kevin, but that's just because they know I have the Omnitrix… right?'
It only took another minute for her own name to be called on. She gripped her device and uttered a small chant, gathering her nerves. She 'knew' her device wasn't the first of its kind but she could at least hope it would be enough to impress the panel of judges.
She entered the interview room and politely bowed to the panel of three judges, recognizing the support hero Power Loader himself. He picked up the paper in front of him and hummed. "Midoriya Izumi, is it? It's been quite a while since we've had another applicant for support and heroics. Many consider the workload to be rather tasking."
Izumi nodded her head, setting her gear on the steel table in the middle of the room. "Yes, sir. I've wanted to be a hero for as long as I can remember, but due to an aspect of my quirk, I found myself rather drawn to engineering, and I can see myself dedicating my life to both." She stated, smiling slightly, trying her best to keep her mumbling down.
"Yes, I see. Says here you have a transformation type quirk, is that right?" Another judge, a woman with black hair and purple eyes, commented.
Izumi nodded once again. "Indeed, ma'am. I call my quirk Unstable Genetics, and I use this device on my wrist to coordinate and separate my DNA into many alternate forms. Some of those include a considerable boost to my intellect, and some even interact directly with machinery. Though two of them impact my personality quite a bit." She stated, drawing some impressed looks from the judges.
"Well, let's see what you've got for us, then, miss Midoriya." The last judge, a man with short brown hair, gestured as if to say 'the floor is yours.'
Izumi nodded, taking out her invention. When she was preparing for the interview portion of the exam, her thoughts went back to when she first got the Omnitrix, as well as the incident with the sludge villain that had preceded it. That had inspired her to create a device that mimicked Pele's ability to absorb fire and heat and power herself up. She put on her gauntlets and smiled.
"I call these the Volcanic Gauntlets." She began explaining. "The exterior is made of a tungsten alloy, to allow for high temperature resistance. They're based on one of my transformations and would be most effective at neutralising fire." She opened her palm, revealing a strange hole in the palms. "If you would allow me to demonstrate?"
The judges hesitantly nodded, and she immediately produced a metal place with some kind of substance, as well as a lighter. The panel jolted slightly as she set fire to the substance, which began burning with a blue flame, the heat was even felt by them. She noticed their slight apprehension and immediately raised her open palm towards the flame. Immediately, the device began glowing blue and the flame seemed to be… absorbed, for lack of a better term. In a few seconds, the fire was no more, and the room was a few degrees colder.
"As you can see, these gauntlets allow the user to essentially draw in heat and energy from the air directly." The judges looked awestruck, which Izumi didn't really pick up on, too focused on explaining her invention. "The technology could also have everyday applications for cooling areas and such, but its main function would be as a way to combat flames."
She then pressed a button and the gauntlet seemed to expand, covering her entire arm and now showing a much larger hole in the front, similar to the one that was previously in her palm. "And for more intense fires, I made it so it could shift at the press of a button, though as you saw that takes a minute." She seemed to look at the judges expectantly, before remembering something. "Ah, yes, and the inside is insulated." She added, blushing sheepishly.
Powerloader took a second to recover from his shock. Even some third years would struggle with anything near this level of technology. The pink haired girl that had come before already seemed like a genius, but this was something else. "That's… very impressive, Midoriya. Excuse me for asking, but it seems the gauntlets take in energy, is that right?" Izumi nodded. "Where does it go?"
Izumi blushed and resisted the urge to facepalm. 'Of course! I'm so stupid! I totally blanked on that!' "Ah, sorry, Power Loader, sir. The gauntlets can be hooked up to other devices in order to power them, but I did include a use for the excess energy within the gauntlets themselves." She extended her index finger and a metal prong came out of the gauntlet, which immediately began buzzing as a blade of ionised plasma ran along its length. "A convenient plasma cutter! Otherwise, the energy fuels a feedback cycle to keep the gloves working for longer periods of time. Though they should be recharged before use, just to be safe." She ended her presentation with a bow, removing the gauntlets and presenting them to the judges. All three of them, Power Loader especially seemed to marvel at them, though to Izumi it looked more like scrutiny.
After what felt like the tensest five minutes of her life, they returned her gauntlets. "Thank you for coming, Miss Midoriya. Your invention is most intriguing. If you would kindly exit through the door on your left, an examinator will bring you to the next testing site. Thank you very much." The third judge said, still a bit shellshocked at the invention. Izumi nodded and did as instructed, hoping that the curt tone she had interpreted wasn't any indication of her performance.
As she stepped out, she immediately noticed an Ectoplasm clone seemingly waiting for her. 'Wow, it must be really convenient to have a staff member that can split into thirty. Must make organising events and such a cinch. I wonder if he also handles a lot of paperwork. Actually, does his splitting work more like a Splixon, where each copy has its own individuality, or is it a hivemind like a Sonorosian. Come to think of it, Cementoss is also a teacher here. He must make any kind of building they need to make really easy and cheap. Huh, no wonder they have over twenty urban training grounds… Mumble mumble mumble…' She was brought out of her unintentional muttering spree by the Ectoplasm clone snapping his fingers right in front of her. "Oh, sorry!" She stood up straighter, startled.
Ectoplasm laughed. "No worries, examinee 1010. Let's just get you settled for the next examination. Don't want to be late, now do we?" He said in a joking tone. Izumi, stiff as a board, just nodded and followed the professor to the exam room.
The tension in the room was palpable when Izumi entered. The examinees were either psyching themselves up, fiddling with something, but overall, it was dead silence. Izumi took her assigned seat and was surprised as she was once again met with the pink girl, Hatsume, getting way too close for comfort. "Heya, Muscles? So how'd it go? I bet the judges loved those gloves of yours! They totally liked my Hover boots!" Izumi's eyes widened.
'She made hover boots? Wow, that tech's tough to build… I needed help procuring the materials for my gauntlets, but she likely didn't have my advantages. This girl's a genius…' Izumi sulked slightly. "I hope so… But hover boots? That's pretty amazing! How'd you get the locking field stable? It must have been pretty difficult to reduce the ring size to fit the soles."
Mei's eyes seemed to sparkle for a moment. "Psh, what? I couldn't do that with scrap from the recycling plant… try as I might. Prototype Hoverbaby number 7 unfortunately ended up exploding. I had to settle for air jets, for limited hovering and a speed increase." Izumi nodded, considering it.
"Yeah, I guess that kind of tech might be too difficult to build without quite a few resources." Izumi commented absentmindedly. "I had to pull a few strings to even get my gauntlets in working order."
Mei vibrated in place. "Ooh, ooh, what do they even do? What are they made of? Do they give the wearer super strength, do they work with that watch of yours?"
'Huh, is that what I sound like when I talk about quirks?' Izumi felt a sweat drop forming in her forehead. "Ah, I made them out of tungsten carbide, mostly because of its high melting point. They have a specialised syphoning engine that can absorb heat and fire and turn it into energy. It mostly goes to a feedback loop to power itself, but if you have excess, I made it so it could be hooked up to other devices. Oh, it also has a plasma cutter. Oh, and it doesn't require my watch to run. That's for my quirk." She answered, not at all expecting to be immediately grabbed and twirled around in a tight hug.
Mei looked at her with sheer adoration, not that Izumi knew it. "We are going to be best friends!" She said with finality.
Izumi just looked at her, dumbstruck. "Uh… okay?"
Mei did a fist pump, muttering to herself. "Nice, already made a friend on the first day! And she's not even a robot, too!" Izumi couldn't help a sympathetic giggle. She knew the feeling, but who knew that she would find someone kind of like her at the UA exam of all places.
'Damn, she kind of grew on me… I've literally only talked to her twice…' Her train of thought was interrupted by Power Loader walking into the room without much ceremony.
"All right, settle down." He said, though the room was much too tense for there to be any agitation. "Good. Now, you have been tasked with designing an item to aid in the capture of a villain of unspecified quirk. Use whatever there is in this room in an effort to do so. Of course, you may also use your quirk. You have forty five minutes. Go." The students all froze for a second, looking shocked at the man, but they were all brought out of it by a sudden blur speeding around the room. "Well, what the hell are you waiting for?" What followed was a mad dash and a struggle for materials by the students, save for one.
Standing at examinee's 1010's spot, a white, black and blue raptor looking alien began arranging the parts it had collected in a flash, only to then pick up a pen and begin drawing blueprints. When the other students were returning with their hard fought spoils, Izumi, or rather, Kinesis, had already finished drawing her concept for a capture tool. She managed to refine a proper, doable idea with the resources available to her. That was an essential part of the test, she had figured. 'Now, to test out the newest feature of the Omnitrix.'
Izumi fiddled with the dial on her chest, managing to remember the proper way to cycle through her forms without actually seeing the selection wheel. It seemed that the Omnitrix, through its DNA bond with her, was able to somewhat intuit her desires and thoughts, so that when she input a specific sequence, it actually switched her to her desired Alien. In her place, jumping quickly onto the table, near the materials, was a small imp like creature with wide eyes and a red spiked tail to match its skin. It wore green and black overalls and immediately began fiddling around with the materials, following the blueprints instinctively.
Turning into Jurryrigg was always an experience for Izumi. Sure, some of her forms affected her personality. Tetra was extremely excitable and competitive, Brainstorm, Midaxx and Empress had overinflated egos, and Ditto was extremely incapable of taking things seriously, but none of her transformations, aside from Raij, came with such an effect on her psyche. The Planchaküle transformation left her completely incapable of resisting its instincts to work on machinery.
"Fix fix fix!" It chittered incessantly, no doubt drawing some interested, though annoyed looks from the other test takers. That is, except for Mei. She just looked even more elated with her new best friend's quirk. Though she chose to hyperfocus on her own test.
"Examinee 1010, please, try to be quiet." Power loader reprimanded, though he was impressed with the pace of her work.
Jurryrigg then stopped for a moment, looking like the very act hurt her. She looked at Power Loader, visibly shaking and jittering. "Sorry, sir… Need to fix… FIX!Will try to be silent…" He widened his eyes slightly, noticing her demeanour completely changed after returning to the task. He now understood the comment about some of her transformations affecting her personality.
In less than thirty minutes, Izumi Midoriya sheepishly held a pair of cuffs in front of Power Loader, along with the specifications of her inventions and the blueprint. She bowed, quickly exiting the room. She was the first one out, and the rest were still in the middle of building their items. Mei's eyes glinted as she redoubled her efforts.
Power Loader took a moment to examine the cuffs and their specifications. 'Spring loaded mechanism… needs to be primed so it doesn't go off prematurely. Good thinking there. Locks wrists and joints to limit mobility. Blocks out the thumb and little finger to cancel out five-touch contact quirks, and is reinforced to account for strength quirks. Heat and cold resistant, corrosion resistant, Jesus. When I said that the villain had an unspecified quirk, I had meant that as a handicap, considering the time and materials. I wasn't suggesting for her to make a damn universal quirk cuff. I wonder what she would have done with the materials for a quirk neutralising field.'
Izumi paced around the halls of UA, making her way to the cafeteria. She wanted to grab at least a snack before the heroics practical. 'I hope that my cuffs were enough to pass. I know Jurryrigg's awesome with putting machines together, but that outburst at the beginning might cost me some points. Plus, I couldn't figure out how best to cancel out the villain's quirk, so it could still be defeated by a strong enough strength quirk, or a size shifting one, or even a slime quirk… like that one.' She grabbed one of the examinee lunches and sat down by herself as she muttered anxiously.
In a few minutes, however, she was startled by a tray slamming into the spot next to hers. She looked over to see Mei, once again, smiling from ear to ear. "Hey, Midori-something, right? Wow, you sure worked fast, girl! I definitely underestimated you!" She sat down, brushing up against Izumi. Once again, she was startled by Mei's apparent lack of consideration for personal space. Being that close to a cute girl was making Izumi short out.
"Ah, well, that was all Kinesis and Jurryrigg. I doubt I could have done that without my quirk to help me. I just wanted a bit of extra time before the heroics practical. If anything, I should have done more with the allotted time. You're much more impressive. I mean, your quirk is an eyesight mutation, right? And you were able to craft those hoverboots with just your pure intellect." Mei looked impressed for a second, before grinning.
"Don't sell yourself short, Muscles. We could use our quirks however we wanted. You think there aren't any tecnopaths and such here?" Mei argued. "And good eye there! Heh, eye." She snorted at her own pun. "My quirk's called Zoom. I can zoom out and see up to 6 kilometres, or go microscopic. It really helps with building the delicate parts of my babies."
Izumi's eyes sparkled as she produced a notebook from seemingly nowhere and began scribbling quickly. "Wow, that's an incredible quirk. I mean, the capabilities for support alone are great, but you could easily become another Lady Nagant with that quirk. You probably already have a lot of experience with precision aiming, with all the welding… Mumble mumble mumble…" Mei just looked at Izumi in shock as she descended into a mumbling spiral, barely finding it in her to stop her new friend.
'She's saying… I could be a hero? I can't say I never thought about it, but my quirk isn't flashy and doesn't give me any advantages in combat.' Mei thought, her eyes drooping slightly before she listened to another part of the words flooding out of Izumi's mouth.
"And being a support engineer as well, she would have a lot of options too. Long range field support is in high demand these days, and I can see her using her hover soles and perhaps some kind of tethering system in order to quickly reposition… Mumble mumble mumble…"
Mei perked up once again. "And I would even get to field test my babies! Why didn't I think of that before? I totally could have done rifle training after I turned eighteen! Damn, now I wish I could go back in time and do a double major." Mei pondered, though not really beating herself up over it.
Izumi was then snapped out of her own thoughts. "Oh, you heard all that… Sorry!" She blushed.
Mei quickly gripped her shoulders and pulled her into a hug. That certainly didn't help Izumi stop becoming a blushing mess. "Thanks, Muscles. You're the first person to tell me to be a hero… or actually, to talk to me for so long…" Izumi felt a pang in her heart. In a way, this girl really was just like her.
"Ah, uh, d-don't worry about it. I just think that everyone can be a hero if they want to, no matter the quirk. There's always some way to improve it. Think of Bubble Girl, Sir Nighteye's sidekick. Her power is just making bubbles with specific smells, but she's great at taking down villains!" Izumi took a moment to fangirl. "You could be an awesome sniper with your quirk." Mei beamed. "I mean, after the Spring Exhibition, if you do well enough, you could totally apply for a double major."
The pink haired girl's eyes widened. "Wait, you can do that?!" She nearly screamed, being shushed at the last second by Izumi.
"Shh, yeah. Other courses can apply for a track change, and if they do well enough in the rankings, they may score enough points to get in. Power Loader and Eraserhead both got in that way." Mei was once again flabbergasted.
"Well, then, I better bring my A game, then we'll be double classmates!" Izumi smiled at the girl's confidence, starting to hope for the same thing.
"Sure thing, Hatsume!" Izumi shone a blinding smile.
Mei returned one of her own. "Hey, none of that Hatsume stuff. You can just call me Mei, Muscles!"
Izumi was rather embarrassed to call a girl she had just met by her first name, but tried anyway. "Ah, sure thing Ha-Mei. You can call me Izumi too, if you want." She said, failing to fight off a blush.
Mei laughed. "I think I'll just keep calling you Muscles, Izumi-chan!"
Izumi hung her head in defeat. "Please don't…"
The duo ate and talked for a little while, mostly about machinery, and some questions about Izumi's quirk, especially Jurryrigg. Somehow, Mei had really liked the transformation's energy, and that somewhat worried Izumi. She had to admit she was very useful, but she didn't like having so little control over her actions.
The buzzer sounded not long after that, indicating that the examinees for the heroics practical should head towards the auditorium for debriefing on the test. Even though she had been Nezu's personal student, she hadn't been able to crack just what the practical exam was exactly. She knew, from Eraserhead's offhand comments, that it usually favoured combat quirks, and that something had changed this year. Still, it could be pretty much anything.
She looked at the Omnitrix. She had dutifully registered it as an essential piece of support gear, not that she could take it off even if she wanted to do the test with only One for All. She had trained with her new quirk for only a month and a half, but it would have to be enough. According to All Might, she was well on her way to mastering it, even if that month of intense training had only raised her safe maximum in human form to 10%. Some aliens could handle quite a bit more of it, and in most cases it led to improved abilities for them, which was a nice plus. Pele, for example, seemed to produce a sort of greek fire that could burn pretty much anything to cinders if she didn't control herself.
Kinesis got even faster than normal, and Clockwork could hold her time-stop ability for much longer than before. It was kind of insane, really, just how powerful One for All had made all her aliens. The Omnitrix already transformed her into prime specimens, and with this added power, she could easily outpace almost any other Alien of said species. But she wasn't about to pit Scientia against an Apoplexian.
She arrived at the auditorium and immediately began feeling some nerves. She was once again placed right next to Bakugou who glared at her and growled. "Where the hell were you, nerd? Why are you even here? Is this some sort of joke?"
Despite her anxiety from being that close to her main tormentor, her anger got the better of her. "Think what you want, Bakugou." He froze for a second, before scowling. "I'll stay out of your way. I doubt we'll even be at the same testing site." She revealed the small tag she had received as she arrived at the auditorium, showing her examination number and testing site. Bakugou looked at his own tag and huffed.
"Damn, I was looking forward to putting you back in your place, Deku." Izumi just levelled a cold glare at him, and for a brief moment his own scowl faltered. Before they could continue their argument, a spotlight shone upon an elevated platform that looked like a recording studio and all the murmuring instantly ceased. On the platform, also televised on two other screens so that everyone could see, was a man wearing leather clothes, with his blond hair in a mohawk and his eyes covered by shades.
"Wow, that's the Voice Hero, Present Mic. I listen to his podcast every week!" Izumi fangirled under her breath.
"Shut the fuck up, Deku." Bakugou growled.
Present Mic clapped his hands loudly and began. "All right, Little Listeners! Let's get this party started!" His voice brimmed with excitement. "Welcome to the 2274 UA Heroics Practical Exam. Can I get a 'HELL YEAH'?"
"HELL YEAH!" Izumi, overcome with excitement, shouted at the top of her lungs, only to notice she was the only one that had done so. She cowered, blushing with embarrassment.
"YEAH! That's what I'm talking about, Little Listener!" Present Mic's smile was blinding. "Well, I'll give you the rundown of how this is gonna work." A slide popped up behind him, displaying a city and three robots. "You will be driven to one of UA's mock city training grounds. There you will be facing a legion of robots that are terrorising the city. Your job is to rack up as many points as possible in forty five minutes by defeating villain bots, which yield one, two or three points respectively." The slides zoomed in on each of the robots.
"Also, there will be quite a few civilian robots in there, with varying degrees of injuries. You will be awarded Civilian points for each of them you heal and deliver safely to one of the rescue stations. Harming a civilian bot accidentally will result in a penalty, and doing so intentionally will mean instant disqualification, as will attacking your fellow examinees." Izumi could hear a huff coming from Bakugou.
"You will also be given a roll of capture tape to restrain the villains and bandage the civilians, restraining the villains will also net you extra points. Killing them outright carries a one point penalty, so try and disable them nonlethally." Once again, Bakugou huffed, while Izumi nodded sagely.
Izumi began mumbling quietly. 'It makes sense, they're trying to emulate as real a scenario as possible. Perhaps they even included programming in the robot to interact with non-combat quirks. That would take quite a bit of work, though. But it sounds like something Nezu would do. Huh, I wonder what would be more effective? Certainly, mobility will be essential to grabbing points, as will scouting…' She was snapped out of it by a loud voice, seeing a blue head, muscular man illuminated by another spotlight.
"Excuse me, sir! You have shown us three kinds of villains but the handbook we just received clearly shows four! If this is an oversight from UA, it is quite shameful." He chided, sternly. "And you!" He chopped his arm, looking directly at Izumi's eyes, causing her to flinch. "You've been disrupting the debriefing with your shouting and mumbling. If you're not going to take this seriously, kindly leave."
Already pissed off from having to deal with Bakugou, her patience was practically nonexistent, and it immediately overwhelmed her nervousness. She stood up, staring back at him, and another spotlight shone on her. "Hey! Present Mic clearly wanted a response! And what's more disruptive, a person strategizing quietly, or someone shouting and interrupting the explanation?" The blue haired man sputtered, outraged, and chopped his hand robotically. "I'm pretty sure he was just about to explain the fourth robot anyways!"
Present Mic decided to defuse the situation. "I see emotions are running high here, but let's not start any spats! As Examinee 1010 said, I was just about to explain the last robot, as it is a special case, but a good catch nonetheless, Examinee 4256." He smiled. "Now, the fourth robot is an arena trap, an obstacle to be avoided. It's worth zero points, so you don't really have to worry about it." The dismissive way he put that immediately set off alarm bells inside Izumi's head.
'This stinks of a logical ruse. A hidden aspect to the test, perhaps?' She pondered.
"Well, head over to your assigned area and the UA buses will take you to your designated testing site!" The students, in a surprisingly orderly fashion, drained out of the auditorium. Izumi walked towards one of the buses leaving for testing site B. She saw the blue haired boy board as well, occasionally glancing sternly at her. She took a seat next to a purple haired boy who looked just about ready to fall asleep.
"Are you nervous too? Didn't get too much sleep, did you?" She tried to strike up a conversation, mostly to ease her own anxiety. He looked at her, puzzled, pointing to himself. She nodded, raising an eyebrow slightly.
"Ah, sorry. Not really used to people talking like me. And no, I just have insomnia. It's because of my quirk." She frowned slightly.
"Well, why not? You seem nice enough." She asked, a bit confused.
"People think I'm a villain because of my quirk." He said. "I dunno why I'm even telling you this, but I guess I wanted to try to be a hero mostly to prove them wrong, but I'm in way over my head. My quirk would never work on robots, only people."
Izumi smiled slightly. "Ah, quirk discrimination, my old nemesis." She chuckled at her own joke "The people who told you that are the real villains, man. Quirks are just tools. You think if All Might went rogue and levelled a city with a few punches that his quirk would be considered villainous, or he would?" She huffed. "But I know better than most how great a motivator spite can be."
The boy looked slightly baffled. "For the longest time, I thought I was quirkless. Even though I hadn't yet learned of my quirk or managed to control it with my support device, I still wanted to be a quirkless hero. People thought I was a waste of space." he looked at her slightly shocked.
"Forgive me if this is too much, but did you get graffiti on your desk and spider lilies too?" His voice faltered slightly as she nodded.
"Pretty often, actually. But at least my mom believed in me." She looked off into the distance fondly, before shaking her head a bit. "But I'm sure you'll do great. I mean, Present Mic said that the robots would respond to us, somewhat, and they did ask us about our quirks when we applied. I heard that Eraserhead had a bit of a hand in this year's test, and he's always hated how it favoured combat quirks. So don't count yourself out just yet!" She encouraged him.
"Wait really? How do you know all that?" He questioned, seemingly taken aback.
"Well, some of it is speculation, but if all else fails, you can focus on rescue and use the shutdown levers on the robots you do end up fighting."
He widened his eyes. "What shutdown levers?!" he whisper-shouted.
She opened up the handbook they had been given, showing him a diagram of the robots and specific red levers, though their location was hidden, it was stated that their location was the same in each design. "The handbook has a lot more information about the test than the debriefing. They even added some lore, and specific things you could do, like dialling EMS for the civilians. I guess they were trying to simulate a real life scenario, where heroes are sent into a situation without the full details. UA just loves logical ruses." She commented, the last part dripping with cynicism.
"Don't I fucking know it." He whispered, thinking back to his training with Aizawa.
"I'm Midoriya Izumi, by the way. Nice to meet you."
"Shinso Hitoshi. Same." They then felt a hand on one of their shoulders, looking back to see a floating outfit. "What the…?"
"Heya!" The clothes let out a bright and cheerful greeting, before the weight on both their shoulders increased and they heard a whispering female voice close to their ears. "I'm Hagakure Tooru. I couldn't help but overhear, and I really wanted to thank you, Midoriya-chan! I was really worried about the practical, since I can only really do stealth and takedowns on people, but not on robots. So you really saved my bacon!" Izumi could feel that the girl hovering over them was smiling brightly.
"Oh, glad I could help!" Izumi replied happily. "You have an invisibility quirk, right? And permanent, from the looks of it. Yeah, this exam might have really screwed you over, but I bet you can get quite a few points with the new system, right?"
Hagakure shook their shoulders slightly in apparent excitement. "Totally! I really hope to see you two at UA, good luck!" She then returned to her seat, not too far away.
"Yeah, that would be awesome. Hey, Shinsou, they didn't say anything about helping each other, so if we see each other out there, don't hesitate to ask for help." He was about to say he didn't need any pity, but the look in her eyes was genuine enough. "Just look out for a green hourglass. My quirk transforms me pretty drastically, so you may not recognize me at first, okay?"
'Damn, this girl is just dripping with altruism. Heh, it's almost sickening.' He held back a grin forcing its way onto his face. "Thanks. Good luck, Midoriya."
"You too, Shinsou." The bus stopped, their conversation having eaten up most of their rather short travel time. They exited the bus and began preparing for the exam that would likely define their future. Izumi took a few deep breaths and steeled herself. She then looked towards the gate and saw a face she recognized. 'Hey, it's that nice girl! She looks pretty tense, I should try and help calm her down.'
As she began approaching the girl, she was stopped by a strong hand gripping her shoulder. She turned back, grabbing the wrist of the assailing hand and saw, once again, the stern figure of the boy who had reprimanded her before. He wrenched his hand away and motioned it robotically. "Hey! I saw you were about to distract that girl. She looks like she's trying to focus. Are you trying to sabotage your fellow examinees once again!?"
She felt her irritation bubbling up. "Or maybe I just knew her, and was trying to calm her down before the test began. Ever consider that?" She spat back, making him take a step backwards in shock. She took deep breaths. "Sorry for snapping at you. I know you're probably tense, but if you're just going to assume the worst in everyone you meet, you won't get far as a hero." The words cut him more than she could have known, and he simply huffed and turned on his heel. As he moved away, he couldn't help but consider that she might have had a point.
Approaching the brunette, Izumi waved gently a bit away from her face, hoping that her presence would alert the girl. She didn't want to spook her like that guy did with her. "Hey there." She said softly. The girl was a bit startled, but smiled as she saw Izumi.
"Oh, it's the tall green girl from the entrance!" She said cheerily. "I never introduced myself, right? I'm Uraraka Ochako, nice to meet you!"
Izumi smiled in kind. 'Huh, the name's kinda fitting.' She fought off a blush. "Nice to meet you, Uraraka-san. I'm Midoriya Izumi. I saw you were kind of nervous. And I thought talking would ease your nerves a bit."
Uraraka scratched the back of her head, with her pinky raised. "Yeah, I was a bit anxious… All these guys are really intimidating… they're so focused and on edge."
"Yeah, tensions are high, but I'm sure you'll do great! I mean, you easily have one of the most powerful quirks here. Controlling gravity is extremely useful, trust me." Izumi placed a hand on her shoulder for a moment, then blushed and pulled it back.
"You really think so? Thanks, Midoriya! I'm gonna do my best!" Izumi marvelled as her aura seemed to completely change.
"Also, word of advice… they don't do countdowns here." She said, Uraraka nodding with determination. The pair looked towards a screen as Present Mic appeared.
"All right, Little Listeners. Our exam is just about to begin. Make sure to do your best. And before you all start, I leave you with some words from the Great General Napoleon: A true hero is someone who can overcome life's misfortunes." The doors slowly began to open, revealing a massive cityscape. Izumi readied herself. "Now GO!"
The examinees stood around for a moment, except for three. One, the girl they all thought unassuming, wreathed in green lightning, shot forward immediately, followed by the brunette next to her. Then, taking another direction, was a purple haired boy. "What are you all waiting for?! There are no countdowns in real life! See, those three have the right idea!" The rest of the examinees began a mad dash for points.
Izumi dashed through the streets using her main technique with One for All, Full Cowl, where she spread her energy along the entirety of her body, giving her a massive boost to strength and agility. She encountered a first group of Villain Bots harassing two Civilian Bots. Without hesitation, she took them down and captured them, before tending to the civilians, who mostly had light wounds. They assured her they were fine, but she still helped them along to the nearby rescue station. Still, she needed to do some recon. Just blindly dashing around the streets was not a good idea.
In another training ground, Bakugou was destroying villains left and right, taking care to avoid hurting civilians, but not going out of his way to help them. He heard one call out to him. "Please, help me!" It was on the ground, with a large sticker on its leg, indicating a wound.
He scoffed and took off with an explosion. 'These worthless extras are just getting in my way.' He sneered as he saw another applicant protecting civilians from the villain bots instead of just smashing their heads in.
Izumi knew that she couldn't just use the Omnitrix right away, as she wouldn't always be able to rely on it for the entire exam, due to the time limit. Thankfully, her mother's training and One for All made tearing through villains very easy. At one point, she found a school bus being attacked by two three pointers and one two pointer. She immediately dashed towards them, taking their attention away. "Target spotted. Exterminate!" The three pointers shot rockets towards her, some of which she dodged.
However, she knew that some of them were bound to hit the bus, so she instead pushed her limits slightly and managed to catch them and throw them off course. She then noticed Uraraka arriving and helping her dispatch the villains. She gave her a thumbs up and a heartwarming smile. They methodically guided the civilians out, healed those they could, and carried the rest with them towards the nearest rescue station. They gave each other a high five and once again split paths.
A few minutes later, Izumi saw a blonde about to attack a robot. However, she noticed that the invisible girl, judging by the boots and gloves, was trying to shut it off, hanging off its back. At that rate, she was gonna get hurt. Izumi swooped in and managed to get Hagakure out of harm's way, seconds before the three pointer was torn to shreds by a laser beam. "Hey, man, watch where you point that thing! You could have hurt her!"
"Désolé, mesdemoiselles, but you really should take better care of where you are. It's not my fault my power's so dazzling!" He seemed to sparkle briefly. "I would say à bientôt, but I doubt I'll see the invisible girl again! Ta ta!" The boy ran away.
"Christ, what an ass." Izumi grumbled, eliciting a giggle from Hagakure. "How are you doing so far, Hagakure?" She asked, putting the girl down, too focused on the test to realise she had essentially touched a naked girl.
"I-I'm doing fine, Midoriya! Managed to shut down quite a few bots and rescue some civilians!" She cheered.
"Keep at it, then! Good luck!" Izumi's lightning cowl flared up and she jumped away.

Back at the viewing room, the teachers, including All Might and Inko, were gathered as they watched the examinees. "This year's batch is rather promising." Kayama Nemuri, Midnight, mused, smiling and resisting the urge to lick her lips.
Nezu chuckled. "Indeed, many are showing qualities that are essential to the heroic line of work. Some use their specific traits and skills to take down villains and protect their victims." The screens showed a black haired girl with hardened skin taking blows to protect the civilians behind her. "Some use mobility to reach the scene faster." The footage showed the blue haired boy running, propelled by the engines in his legs, striking at a robot with a strong kick, then carrying an injured civilian away.
"There are those who use overwhelming power to punch through the situation." Aizawa commented as the footage showed Bakugou with the destroyed remains of villain bots around him. Nezu bit back the urge to growl, and Inko and All Might scowled slightly. "Of course, it's important to keep a level head and be aware of your surroundings." The screens showed a tall boy with multiple arms on top of a building, the ends of his arms formed into ears and eyes, which he moved around to detect any activity.
"Cooperation and compassion are also essential in this line of work, and our new test really allows for it, where the other didn't." Chiyo commented as the video showed two girls fighting together, Uraraka and a girl with pink hair and skin fighting robots and saving civilians. Nezu took special note of Uraraka's ability to negate gravity and the fact that the pink skinned girl wore a rather warm looking coat and could extend her limbs, as well as secrete acid.
"But most of all, those who demonstrate all of these traits are well on their way to becoming a true hero." Nezu, All Might, Thirteen and Inko beamed as they saw Izumi running into the fray, then stopping and heading for Shinso, keeping robots off of him so he could deactivate them. Aizawa let a small grin creep up on his face, while Yamada was much less subtle about it.
"Man, that greenie is quite the snack." Midnight commented, before immediately feeling a spike of killing intent coming from behind her, so much that she froze.
"Kayama-san… Please don't talk about my daughter that way." Inko's smile was sickly sweet. None of the faculty had dared say anything. When they had met their new faculty members, the diminutive greenette had seemed like a cinnamon roll. But now it seemed like she was quite the threat when angered.

Back in Testing Site Beta, Izumi huffed as she finished helping Shinso with a few villains that were harassing him. "Hey, Shinsou, did you try that thing I told you about?"
He shook his head, clenching his fist. "I did, and it didn't work." She frowned at that. "But knowing about the shutdown levers helped quite a bit."
"Ah, that sucks…" She then got an idea. "Shinsou, do you know how to ride a motorcycle?"
He looked at her like she'd gone mad. "What? Yeah, kinda? I got a few lessons." Eraserhead had allowed him to take some riding lessons, after much grovelling, though insisted that he take them only after passing into UA. Still, it should be enough.
"Well, then, I have a solution to your problem." She smiled, before fiddling with her watch and pressing down on a button that appeared from its face. A green flash blinded him briefly, and when he could once again see, she was no longer there, replaced by a red imp wearing overalls. "Fix fix fix!"
Shinso watched slack jawed as the creature, glowing with the same green lightning that Izumi had been, tore through one of the villain bots, repurposing its materials. In a moment, she had somehow produced a motorbike with some kind of weaponry attached. "What the fuck?!" He sputtered.
"Fixed!" The imp yelled, before it touched the dial and transformed once more, this time into a large plant with a singular blue eye. It stood on six vine-like feet and towered over Shinso, who then noticed the hourglass symbol on its chest. "Sorry about that guy. Jurryrigg is a little hard to control." Izumi, now Flora, said, her voice raspier than normal. "The bike should work like any other one. You press the button on the side of the handles to shoot either gun. They're rubber bullets, but be careful." She said, before her arm suddenly extended towards a building and she swung off.
"Jesus Christ. What kind of quirk is that?!" Shinso muttered in disbelief, before looking at the bike and smiling. "Damn, this is so cool. I kinda wanna keep it."
The teachers just looked on in disbelief as Izumi showed off two of her transformations. They kept their eyes peeled as they saw her taking down villains with extreme efficiency, though leaving many behind for the rest. She saved civilians equally quickly, even taking time to reassure them that they would be okay, and asking before carrying any of them. She was a shoe in for the hero course. With two minutes left, Nezu grinned. "Now, time for the real test. Let's go out with a bang. Care to do the honours, Yagi-kun?"
All Might smiled and reached for a red button. Opening the safety glass, his finger hovered it before pressing down. 'Now, young Midoriya… there is one last trial for you to overcome. Wait…' he paused as he looked over the screens. In each testing site, a gigantic robot emerged right in the middle of the city. In all but one of the cities, they were slow moving, and didn't specifically target anybody. In testing site B, however, the Zero Pointer was a gigantic spider-like robot that immediately began rampaging and attacking students.
Flora stood in terror at seeing the absolutely massive robot wreaking havoc upon the city. The students were desperately running away. She saw Shinso abandon his bike before it got wrecked in the commotion, and Hagakure nearly got trampled by the panicking examinees. The blue haired boy sped past her, looking at her still frame in confusion. That's when she heard a voice, crystal clear amidst the panic.
"Aah! Help!" It wasn't one of the civilian bots. Izumi looked around and saw a girl with her leg trapped under the rubble. She only took a fraction of a second to recognize her.
(Suggested BGM: Instumental Ben 10 Classic Intro)
"URARAKA!" It was like time had frozen for her. Izumi could only stare as the Zero Pointer turned its intimidating head, its eyes glowing red, towards the trapped girl, and began to prepare a likely fatal attack. 'No… I can't let her die, I need to save her.' It felt like she moved through molasses as her brain was flooded with adrenaline and One for all. She shifted to her fastest form, Kinesis, and using all the power she could muster, sped off in a blur.
Shinso barely saw it happen until he managed to see Izumi right in front of the towering Robot. 'No, you idiot! What the hell are you doing?!' He then noticed that he himself was running straight towards the Zero pointer. 'Fuck, what the hell am I doing?!' He shook himself off. "Well, in for a penny, in for a pound." he picked up the pace as he ran full speed towards the behemoth.
Hagakure watched the two people she had chatted with running straight towards the destruction in order to save that girl. 'They need all the help they can get to get her out from under the rubble.' She also found herself running at a speed that surprised even her. "Hang in there, help is coming!"
Ashido Mina looked on in horror as the metal monstrosity noticed the girl trapped under the rubble. 'That's the girl that helped me earlier! She was a real lifesaver when I was completely surrounded!' She thought, clenching her fist and cursing the fact that her entire body had frozen up. She then saw a blur, before a raptor-like creature with green hues along its mostly black body appeared, sparking with electricity.
"No way… a Kineceleran? Here? How did I not notice?!" She whispered under her breath, completely shocked. When her thoughts caught up to her, she was slinging herself across the street to help save the girl along with the Kineceleran.
"Uraraka! Don't worry, I am here! Let me help you!" Ochako looked at the dinosaur girl who had appeared in front of her in a millisecond. She looked confused as to how the raptor knew her name. "It's me, Midoriya! If I lift the rubble off of you, could you make a break for it?"
Uraraka stammered. "I-I don't know. I think I broke my leg!" Izumi cursed as she saw the robot pulling one of its massive legs up. It was now or never. She turned the dial and immediately changed to a large dinosaur alien, the form she called Tyrana, her head adorned with horns and scales that minorly resembled a crown.
Izumi looked back, seeing a perplexed looking Shinso and Hagakure, along with a pink skinned girl wearing a winter coat. 'Wait, it can't be… a Kraaho? Here?' She put those thoughts aside for a moment. "Thank goodness you're here!" Tyrana said, breathing a sigh of relief as she lifted the rubble pinning Uraraka down. "Get her out and run while I hold it off."
"What?! Are you insane, you run with us too!" Hagakure shouted, helping Shinso and Ashido bring Uraraka out.
Izumi saw the gigantic leg coming down and immediately grew even larger, plates forming along her back and limbs. "No can do, Hagakure! If I let this guy loose, he could hurt someone else!" Her entire body became covered in green energy as her muscles bulged further and her scales grew much thicker. She crossed her arms in front of her and took the full impact of the punch, grunting in pain. "Gah! Just go! I can take him!" She shouted.
"Not even a Vaxasaurian could take that thing on! We gotta run!" The Kraaho girl rebutted.
Izumi knew that she could, but not without possibly causing even more damage to the city. She had a few options to deal with it quickly, but, inspired by Uraraka, she decided on a gamble. "You're right, Tyrana might not beat this thing…" the green energy surged as she threw the punch back. In the brief moment she had, she shifted once again. "But Ceres certainly can!" She was now a rocky humanoid, still towering over them.
They looked at her in awe as she began floating, green lightning and red magma-like lines streaking around her body as the rubble began floating and orbiting around her. Ochako especially looked to be in awe. Somehow, she could feel the power Ceres was exerting. 'Is she… she's controlling gravity!' The rubble began pelting the Zero Pointer's legs, knocking it off balance and giving Ceres time to strike.
'I've never done this to an object this big… but with 50% of One for All usable by this form… I just might be able to do it.' She extended her hand as the zero pointer was enveloped in a green glow.
—
From the teacher's observatory, they looked on in utter shock. "Nezu, sir, are you insane?! Putting a fourth year Zero Pointer on the field?!" All Might cursed as he spat out more blood.
"I swear to every god there is, if anything happens to my daughter, I will scatter your atoms across the milky way!" The faculty shivered at the threat and how honest it felt.
"Have some faith, you two." Nezu cackled.
'When one has nothing to gain, nay, when they have everything to lose… that's when they show their true colours.' All Might thought as they watched on as the light began encompassing the robot fully. 'The most important thing for a hero: The spirit of self-sacrifice. Go, young Midoriya! Draw that power from the bottom of your heart!'
—
Izumi felt the strain as the robot lifted off the ground, completely under her control. The other examinees stood completely still as they watched in awe. 'This is it… my final gambit!' her open arms closed, her fingers interlacing, and she made a crushing motion. "GRAVITON CRUSH!" The metal behemoth, who had caused all that destruction, suddenly began collapsing in on itself, as if compressed by a singularity in its centre of mass. They heard the jarring sound of metal tearing and crunching, mixed with Ceres' own scream of exertion, before the monstrosity was finally reduced to a compact metal ball right before their eyes.
"AND THAT'S A WRAP, FOLKS! THE UA PRACTICAL EXAM HAS ENDED!" Present Mic's voice sounded through the speakers. Ceres breathed a sigh of relief as she lowered herself down and collapsed on the floor with a loud thud. Immediately, she transformed back into Izumi, who looked absolutely exhausted as she was quickly surrounded by the trio that had helped her and Uraraka.
(BGM end.)
"Fuck, I'm never doing that again." She groaned.
Shinso just looked exasperated. "What even was that? It was insane!"
"Ceres is one of the transformations I can access with my quirk." She looked at the Kraaho girl and stared for a second, only looking back at Shinso once she nodded. "She can manipulate gravity. I put that thing under my influence and increased the gravitational pull of its centre of mass until it collapsed in on itself. Never done that to such a massive thing, though. Should have gone with Upgrade." 'Though either way it might have been too big to take over completely.'
"Wow, that was so cool! You were like Pow, Woosh, Crash!" Uraraka cheered excitedly, though wincing once she put some weight on her right leg.
Iida watched from the sidelines, deep in thought. 'She went in with barely any hesitation and saved that girl. The others too. For no actual gain.' he mused. 'If this hadn't been a test, I would have naturally done the same.' He would later realise that that was a lie, and it would lead him to some soul searching as he confronted his own lack of heroism that day. 'Wait… the test! The judges definitely saw that!'
Soon enough, Recovery Girl arrived at the scene, immediately whacking Izumi with her cane. "You absolute dolt! Why'd you go and do that for?" She chided briefly. "But I guess you didn't really break anything like I expected, and this is mostly the rat's fault anyways." Shinso shivered for a moment, recalling his guardians' descriptions of the eldritch rat of UA. "Now, who here is actually injured?"
Uraraka raised her hand sheepishly, earning her a kiss on the cheek from Recovery Girl. Immediately, she felt relief as her leg fixed itself perfectly. "Wow, that's amazing, I'm totally… whoa, I'm so tired all of a sudden."
Izumi groaned as she stood up. "Yeah, her quirk speeds up your healing by consuming your stamina. It can even kill someone if they don't have enough, so she's always very careful. The real backbone of UA." She explained, being caught by Hagakure and Shinso before she could fall down. "Damn, I feel like I could sleep for a whole week."
The five examinees involved in what would later be called the Executor Incident began making their way towards the cafeteria, to regain their strengths after that hellish situation had concluded.
