Kaya, Nojiko, and Kalifa slowly on Ballista pushed towards the Xyli Palace. "It is nice we can use Ballista to move from one place to another," Nojiko remarked.
"It is not ideal," Kalifa responded. "Lexie, Super Tortoise and Glimstorm provide more protection and flexibility," she added as she touched her glasses.
"What do you mean?" Kaya questioned as she looked at Kalifa.
"Ballista is an artillery piece used to provide long range support," Kalifa replied. "She is perfect in those situations, outside of those conditions means she can be exposed and vulnerable," she added.
"You make a good point there," Nojiko said as she looked ahead.
Kaya looked forward. "We are almost to the castle, just past these trees and," Kaya said but then she stopped.
"And?" Nojiko questioned.
"There is a group of soldiers there," Kaya replied.
"You have some good eye sight," Nojiko giggled.
"Then lets take them down," Kalifa said
They went forward and saw a large battalion of guards. They were armed with heavy halberds and shields.
"Stop there," one shouted.
"We are here to help and save the King," Kaya responded.
"So you are against us," another guard shouted.
"They are our enemy," Kalifa said as she adjusted her grip on her whip.
"Then let's clear the way," Nojiko said. "Cloud Surge," she added as dense storm clouds erupted from her palms. It started to fill the air and surround the guards.
"Where did these clouds come from?" one guard questioned.
Nojiko's eyes flashed. "Lightning Barrage," she said as thunder shook the area. Bolts of electricity rained down from the high clouds. They struck the guards square one. Their bodies were electrocuted. There was smoke leaving their body as they went down.
Kaya transformed into her beast form. She unfurred her white wings into their full span. They started to glow with a divine, shimmering light. "Angel Barrage," she said as dozens of energy projectiles resembling glowing feathers erupted from her wings. The volley hit the guards. Each feather was cutting deep into skin and bone. There was blood spraying from their wounds.
One captain, larger than the rest, went forward. He swung a massive axe at her. Kaya didn't flinch. "Angel Smash," Kaya said as she channeled her energy into her fist. It glowed with a blinding white light. Her punch collided with the iron axe and shattered the blade. Her fist kept going and she punched the captain in the face. The captain went flying and crashed into the wall.
"Kaya, watch your left," Nojiko called out.
Kaya spun. She saw a group of guards about to swing their swords. "Iron Body," Kaya said as she hardened her body. The swords came down and shattered upon impact.
"What!?" the guard questioned as he looked to see his sword break.
Kaya then swung her hand and punched the guard in the gut. The guard`s eyes widened and spat out of his spit. He collapsed and fell over.
Meanwhile, Kalifa looked at the remaining guards. "Contract Strike," Kalifa lashed Lovethorn out. The whip wrapped tightly around a guard's throat. With a sharp tug, she disarmed him and slammed him into his comrades. They were knocked down like bowling pins.
"Profit Margin," she said as she cracked the whip in a sweeping circle and slashed five guards once. They were hit in the chest and the thorns pierced their skin. The force of the sweep sent them backwards.
At that moment, a group of pirates came from the right. "They are the ones who attacked us," one shouted as they charged towards Kalifa.
"Shave," Kalifa said as she vanished and appeared in front of a pirate. "Bendy Finger Pistol Whip," she added as her arm appeared to liquefy and whipping out at extreme speed. Her finger penetrated a pirate's chest.
The pirate instantly went limp. He spat blood and blood came leaking from her wound.
"She killed him," one pirate said as he cowered back. He dropped his sword and ran.
"Looks like they are running away," Nojiko said.
"Are you all okay?" Kaya questioned.
Kalifa pulled her finger out. There was some blood coming out of the pirate`s body. She dropped his body on the floor.
"Yes," Kalifa replied. "We should get going and help the others," Kalifa said.
Kaya and Nojiko nodded.
Meanwhile, Conis, Raki, and Maya on Howitzer were heading to the western Wall. "We created a big explosion," Conis said.
"Yes, it was massive," Maya added.
"She is very strong," Conis remarked.
"It is impressive," Raki said. She thought this was some serious firepower. They kept going until they were near the wall.
"There are pirates there," Maya said as she spotted them.
"Let me," Conis said as she gripped her Heat Javelin. The tip began to glow a dangerous, molten orange. "Shave," she added as in a blur of motion, Conis vanished and reappeared directly before the pirates. She thrust her weapon forward. "Inferno Strike," she added as a scorching blast of flames erupted from the javelin and hit the lead pirate squarely in the face. He was hurled backward and collapsed with severe burn marks.
Conis then spun. "Scorching Cyclone Slash," she shouted as a literal tornado of fire erupted around her and burnt through the pirates. She had sent them back.
"Lets help her," Raki said as she jumped into the air. She started to transform. Her body had grown taller and were covered in dark, mottled grey scales. Her hands had become massive, bat-like wings with visible veins, and her head had morphed into a spiked, rooster-like visage.
Raki let out a guttural hiss from her toothy maw. "Petrifying Gaze," she said as her yellow eyes locked onto a battalion of pirates in front of her. The moment their eyes met hers, the color drained from their skin and were replaced by cold, grey granite. They were frozen mid-stride and turned into perfect stone statues.
"Blazing Lance Barrage," Conis said as she activated the Heat Javelins multiple times. Each one erupted into flames. This created fiery projectiles rushing towards a group of pirates. The pirates got hit and sent backwards. They had burn marks as they dropped to the ground.
Raki descended toward another group. "Breath of the Basilisk," she said as she exhaled a thick, grey mystical mist. As the breath touched the remaining pirates, their limbs stiffened and turned to stone instantly,
"We are getting through them," Conis remarked. Raki nodded.
Maya held her sword. "Cess Barrage," Maya said as she dashed forward and struck through the pirates' torsos and limbs with relentless speed. There was blood coming from their wounds as they collapsed.
A large pirate ran forward. He held a heavy broadsword and came charging towards Maya. He closed the distance and swung his sword.
Maya took a deep breath. She relaxed her body. "Paper Art," Maya said as she moved to the right like a piece of paper and dodged the attack. The sword came down and hit the ground.
Maya then thrusted her sword forward and stabbed the large pirate. The pirate got pierced. He spat blood from his mouth and collapsed.
She looked to see several pirates in front of her. "Hex's Fire," she said as she scraped her blade against the ground. The friction igniting a black-colored flaming projectile. The dark fire engulfed the pirates as they started to run away and drop down. They rolled around. Their bodies were burned as they collapsed.
"This side is secured," Raki said as she transformed back.
"I hope everyone else is doing well," Maya said as she prayed.
"They will be," Conis responded.
