...

Harper thrust his shoulder up at the absolute last microsecond. The arena gasped in sheer disbelief, holding their heads as the false finish fooled half the building. Woods pushed himself up, running his hands over his face in sheer frustration. He backed into the corner, slapping the turnbuckle, hyping himself up. He waited for Harper to slowly rise to his knees.

But down on the floor, Bray Wyatt finally moved.

Bray stood up from his rocking chair. He didn't issue an order. He simply walked toward Kofi Kingston, who was standing near the steel steps, cheering his partner on. Bray lunged forward, grabbing Kofi by the throat and slamming him violently against the ring apron.

The distraction worked instantly. Big E saw his friend being attacked. Big E slid out of the ring, charging at Bray Wyatt, throwing heavy right hands to defend Kofi.

But seeing the chaos on the outside, Rowan and Harper decided it was time to end the war.

Rowan slid into the ring, completely ignoring the referee's warnings. Woods turned around, furious at the illegal interference. He threw a superkick at Rowan, but the giant blocked it. Rowan grabbed Woods by the throat with both hands.

Suddenly, Big E rolled back under the bottom rope to save his partner. Big E charged at Rowan, looking for a spear.

But from the blindside, Luke Harper spun with terrifying, unholy speed. He unleashed a brutal, decapitating Discus Clothesline that caught Big E flush on the jaw!

CRACK!

The impact sounded like a car crash. Big E folded backward, hitting the mat completely unconscious, rolling out of the ring.

Woods watched in horror as his last line of defense was annihilated. He spun back to Rowan, throwing a wild, desperate right hand.

Rowan didn't flinch. The red bearded monster reached out, locking his massive right hand directly over Woods' face in a suffocating Iron Claw grip. Rowan lifted Woods completely off his feet, holding him suspended in the air for a terrifying second, before driving him straight down into the canvas with a catastrophic Iron Claw Slam!

The impact knocked the wind completely out of Woods. He went completely limp.

Rowan kept his hand locked over Woods' face, pressing his massive weight down for the cover. Harper stood over them, his chest heaving, his wild eyes daring anyone to try and break the pin.

The referee slid into position.

"ONE!"

"TWO!"

"THREE!"

DING! DING! DING!

The eerie, haunting acoustic strum of Live in Fear hit the stadium speakers, instantly drawing a mixture of stunned silence and heavy, visceral boos from the Dallas crowd.

"They did it," Cole said, his voice laced with shock and a deep, reluctant respect. "The Wyatt Family just punched their ticket to SummerSlam. They are the new number one contenders for the World Tag Team Championships."

"What an absolute war!" Lawler added, shaking his head. "The New Day gave them everything they had. They threw the kitchen sink at them, they hit the Limit Break, but the sheer, overwhelming brutality of the Wyatt Family was just too much!"

"That is what monsters do, gentlemen!" JBL gloated, a massive smile on his face. "They isolate, they break you down, and they destroy you! The Wyatt Family just proved they are the most dangerous tag team in this entire company! The Usos better be watching this, because their title reign is on borrowed time!"

Inside the ring, Rowan slowly released his grip on Woods' face, pushing himself up to his knees. Harper rolled out from the ropes, standing tall beside his partner.

Bray Wyatt slowly climbed the steel steps. He stepped through the ropes, walking to the center of the ring, surrounded by the fallen bodies of The New Day. He looked down at Xavier Woods, then over at Big E, who was still motionless on the floor.

Bray let out a low, echoing laugh. He didn't celebrate wildly. He simply knelt down in the center of the ring, spreading his arms wide, bathing in the venomous hatred of the WWE Universe. Harper and Rowan stood behind him, twin monoliths of destruction.

They had survived the war. They had secured their championship opportunity. They looked like true, unstoppable monsters.

As the broadcast lingered on the unsettling, dominant visual of the Wyatt Family holding the ring hostage, the commentary team shifted their focus back to the impending, highly anticipated main event segment.

"The Wyatt Family is going to SummerSlam," Cole said seriously, transitioning the broadcast. "But we still have one massive piece of business left to conduct tonight. Mick Foley promised Sandro Zhang an answer. He promised the God King that he would meet his SummerSlam challenger face to face."

"Sandro is going to tear this arena apart if Foley doesn't deliver," JBL warned. "Whoever is walking down that ramp next better be prepared to sign their own death warrant!"

The show cut to a final commercial break, leaving the audience on the absolute edge of their seats, knowing that the mystery that had consumed the wrestling world all week was finally about to be unraveled.

The final commercial break of the evening faded away, and the live feed returned to a wide, sweeping shot of the American Airlines Center. The Dallas crowd was buzzing with a restless, electric energy.

For the last two hours, the looming shadow of the main event contract signing had dominated the broadcast. Mick Foley had promised a mystery challenger. Sandro Zhang had promised a slaughter. Now, the talking was over, and the time for answers had arrived.

The familiar, screeching sound of a car crash ripped through the stadium speakers, immediately followed by the heavy, grinding guitar riff of Mick Foley's theme music.

The arena erupted into a massive, affectionate cheer. The General Manager of Monday Night RAW stepped out from behind the curtain, looking relaxed and right at home. He wore his trademark red and black flannel shirt, a wide, genuine smile spreading across his bearded face. Foley didn't march to the ring with corporate stiffness, he took his time, walking down the long steel ramp and slapping high fives with the fans leaning over the barricades.

"Welcome back to Monday Night RAW!" Cole shouted over the roaring crowd, his voice thick with anticipation. "And listen to this reception for our General Manager! Mick Foley has promised us a blockbuster announcement tonight, and Dallas is ready for it!"

"I am on the edge of my seat, Michael!" Lawler added, leaning forward at the desk. "We have been speculating all week. The internet has been throwing out hundreds of names. Who did Mick Foley find to challenge the God King at SummerSlam?"

"He didn't find anyone worth a damn, King," JBL scoffed, completely unimpressed by the fanfare. "Foley is playing a desperate game of smoke and mirrors. He backed himself into a corner by disrespecting Sandro Zhang on Twitter, and now he is trying to buy time."

Foley climbed the steel steps, wiping his boots on the ring apron, and ducked through the ropes. A ringside technician handed him a microphone. In the center of the ring sat a simple wooden table covered in a black cloth, holding a leather bound contract and a pen.

Foley raised the microphone to his lips, waiting for the cheers to naturally die down.

"Dallas, Texas!" Foley shouted, instantly drawing a massive pop for the cheap hometown heat. "It is great to be here tonight!"

Foley paced around the table, a comfortable, seasoned speaker holding the audience in the palm of his hand.

"Now, before we get to the business at hand, I want to address the elephant in the room," Foley began, his tone shifting into something a bit more serious. "Last week, I had what some of the dirt sheets are calling a 'Twitter spat' with the Double World Champion of this company. Sandro Zhang took issue with the way I run my show, and he made some very public, very loud demands."

The crowd booed at the mention of the God King's name.

"I'll admit, airing out management issues on social media caused a bit of an embarrassment for the corporate office," Foley chuckled, scratching his beard. "But I am not out here to dwell on that. I told Sandro that he doesn't dictate policy to me. I told him that I was doing my job. And my job is to provide the WWE Universe with the best possible matches on the biggest possible stages."

Foley stopped pacing, pointing a finger directly at the hard camera.

"At SummerSlam, Sandro Zhang will defend his gold against a man I personally selected," Foley announced, his voice booming with authority. "I have prepared an opponent who is absolutely perfect for the God King. This is a man who holds immense accolades in the wrestling world. This is someone who has left an undeniable, permanent mark amongst the absolute greatest to ever set foot in this industry."

The Dallas crowd grew incredibly fervent, the volume in the arena rising steadily as fans tried to guess the identity of the legend.

"This is going to be massive!" Cole yelled, hyping the moment. "A legend is stepping up to the plate!"

"So let's not waste any more time," Foley declared, turning toward the entrance stage, throwing his arm out in a welcoming gesture. "Ladies and gentlemen... the next challenger for the World Heavyweight Championship!"

Foley lowered his arm. The crowd held its breath, staring at the stage.

Five seconds passed.

Ten seconds passed.

Nothing happened. No music played. No pyrotechnics exploded. The entrance stage remained completely empty.

A murmur of confusion rippled through the American Airlines Center. Foley blinked, looking back at the production area, a hint of awkwardness crossing his face. He tapped the microphone, checking to see if it was still on.

"Well, live television, folks," Foley joked, drawing a light chuckle from the crowd. "Let's try this one more time. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome your mystery challenger!"

Foley gestured to the stage again.

Again, absolute silence greeted him.

"What is going on?" Lawler asked, looking bewildered. "Did they miss their cue?"

"They didn't miss their cue, King!" JBL laughed loudly, slapping the commentary desk. "The guy chickened out! Whoever Foley found took one look at what Sandro Zhang did to Brock Lesnar, and they packed their bags and went home! This is exactly what I was talking about!"

Foley lowered his microphone, looking genuinely concerned. He took a step toward the ropes, preparing to ask a ringside official what was happening backstage.

KSSSHHH!

The jarring, unmistakable sound of static cut through the awkward silence, instantly followed by the heavy, driving guitar riff of Cult of Personality.

The Dallas crowd erupted into a massive, deafening wave of hostile boos. The reaction was visceral, shaking the building as the God King's theme music claimed the arena.

"Business is about to pick up," Cole noted nervously. "Sandro Zhang is not going to let this slide."

Sandro stepped out from behind the curtain, looking absolutely furious. He wore his tailored designer jeans and a fitted black t-shirt, carrying the WWE Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship draped heavily over his shoulders. His face was a mask of cold, unfeeling stone.

Flanking him closely were AJ Lee, Nikki Bella, and Alexa Bliss. The three women walked with a fierce, unapologetic swagger, ignoring the venomous insults raining down from the fans. They marched in perfect sync with their boyfriend, projecting a unified front of arrogance and power.

A massive blast of golden pyrotechnics exploded behind them, highlighting the dominant visual.

Sandro walked down the ramp with a slow, predatory stride. He didn't look at the fans. He kept his dark eyes locked dead on Mick Foley. He climbed the steel steps, ducked smoothly through the ropes, and stepped onto the canvas. The three women filed in behind him, standing near the turnbuckles with their arms crossed.

AJ Lee leaned through the ropes, grabbed a microphone from a terrified ringside technician, and handed it respectfully to Sandro.

Sandro didn't speak immediately. He looked at the empty entrance stage, then looked back at Foley, letting out a dry, mocking laugh.

"Look at you, Mick," Sandro began, his voice dripping with absolute contempt, echoing clearly through the sound system. "Look at how pathetic you look standing there in your cheap flannel shirt. You stood in the back, you hyped up the media, you sent out your little tweets... and you couldn't even deliver."

Foley stood his ground, keeping his expression neutral.

"You 'persuaded' this mysterious legend to come back?" Sandro mocked, using air quotes. "You got Vince McMahon himself to greenlight the contract? Well, it looks like your mystery man decided to stay a mystery. I came out here to save you the embarrassment of standing in this ring looking like an absolute fool."

Sandro took a slow step forward, closing the distance between himself and the General Manager.

"Let me explain to you exactly what just happened, Mick," Sandro said, his voice dropping into a cold, dangerous register. "Your guy didn't miss his cue. He didn't get stuck in traffic. He sat in the locker room, he listened to his music cue, and he realized the reality of the situation. He realized that walking down that ramp means stepping into a cage with a God."

The crowd rained boos down on the champion, rejecting his massive ego.

"There is no one brave enough to face me!" Sandro roared suddenly, his voice cracking like a whip. "I have beaten every single person you put in front of me! I broke legends! I took Brock Lesnar to absolute hell and left him unconscious in the dirt! No one will ever beat me! Your little mystery man realized that if he walks down that ramp, his career ends at SummerSlam!"

Sandro tossed the microphone onto the table in disgust, the loud thud echoing through the arena.

Foley didn't flinch. He looked down at the discarded microphone, then looked up at Sandro, a slow, knowing smile spreading across his face. Foley raised his own mic.

"You are a very intense young man, Sandro," Foley said calmly. "And you have a right to be confident. You have done incredible things in that ring. But you need to take a deep breath."

Foley took a step forward, completely unintimidated.

"The man I chose to face you is a legend in his own right," Foley explained, his voice steady. "He was a massive star long before you were even born. And when you reach that level of legendary status... well, you tend to develop a bit of an ego. He operates on his own schedule."

Foley chuckled softly.

"I can understand it," Foley admitted. "If I were him, I would probably do the exact same thing. Making you stand in the ring, making you wait, making you angry... it makes the tension even bigger. It makes the anticipation even crazier. He isn't hiding from you, Sandro. He is playing with you."

Sandro's eyes narrowed into dark, murderous slits.

"I just have a little piece of advice for you, kid," Foley warned, his tone dropping the jovial facade. "Do not get cocky. Because the man waiting behind that curtain does not care about your titles."

Sandro snatched the microphone back off the table.

"I don't need your advice, Foley!" Sandro fired back, losing his temper. "And I am sick and tired of listening to you defend a coward! I don't care what this guy did twenty years ago! I don't care what bingo halls he sold out! He is a washed up, broken down old man who is too terrified to show his face on my show!"

Sandro pointed a finger aggressively at the General Manager.

"You are incompetent, Mick!" Sandro insulted him venomously. "You are a failure of a General Manager, and this mystery opponent is nothing but a pathetic—"

CLICK.

The lights in the American Airlines Center violently cut off.

The stadium was plunged into absolute, pitch-black darkness in the middle of Sandro's sentence.

The crowd gasped, the sudden sensory deprivation sending a shockwave of adrenaline through the building.

Flash.

A single, stark white spotlight hit the center of the ring, illuminating Sandro's confused expression for a fraction of a second before plunging back into darkness.

Flash.

A second spotlight hit the entrance stage, revealing nothing but empty space, then vanished.

Suddenly, a heavy, driving, orchestral beat began to pump through the arena's sound system. It was tense, atmospheric, and distinctly unfamiliar to the modern WWE audience.

The massive digital TitanTron sparked to life.

The screen displayed dark, grim imagery. Abandoned warehouses. Shadowy rafters. Heavy rain falling on desolate city streets. And then, a massive flock of black crows erupted across the digital screen, their harsh, screeching calls blending seamlessly with the heavy, driving music.

The Dallas crowd realized exactly what was happening. A low rumble of disbelief began in the front rows and spread like a shockwave through the upper decks.

"No way," Cole whispered into his headset, his voice trembling. "No... it can't be."

The imagery on the screen faded into a tight, extreme close-up of a man's face.

It was painted stark white, with deep, aggressive black lines drawn vertically down his eyes and across his cheeks.

The crowd went absolutely ballistic. The pop was nuclear, shaking the structural steel of the American Airlines Center. The roar was so deafening that the television cameras physically shook on their tripods.

"IT'S HIM!" Cole screamed at the top of his lungs, completely abandoning his journalistic composure. "OH MY GOD! HE IS HERE!"

"I don't believe it!" Lawler shrieked, standing up from his chair. "I am getting goosebumps! Foley have done hell of great job!"

Stepping out from behind the curtain, bathed in a single, pale white spotlight, was The Franchise. The Icon.

Sting had finally set foot in a WWE arena.

He wore a long, heavy black leather trench coat that swept the steel ramp as he walked. In his right hand, resting casually against his shoulder, was his signature black baseball bat. He didn't rush. He walked with the slow, deliberate, incredibly dangerous swagger of a vigilante who had finally tracked down his target. "Sting is in WWE!" Cole yelled, his voice cracking with pure emotion. "The greatest star in the history of WCW! The man they said would never, ever cross the line, is standing on Monday Night RAW!"
