Harry Hall didn't know what was wrong with her. Seeing her sitting dazedly on the sofa, he sat down beside her with some concern and asked:
"What's wrong?"
Helen Melendy looked at Harry with a somewhat complicated expression. After pondering for a few seconds, she said:
"I feel like, as a sister, I'm not as concerned about my brother's lifelong matters as Elly is."
Harry really didn't understand what had happened in between; how did Elly get involved with Edward Smith?
Seeing her husband looking utterly confused, Helen didn't hesitate to share her own brother's tumultuous love journey with him. Finally, she said:
"When my brother was with Johnson Fefferman, he often caused trouble for Elly behind her back. I and my mom reported him, and a couple of days ago, Elly sent an email to Johnson. Basically, she said that the losses Campbell suffered because of my brother, she would ask him to repay in full."
