But, many people who were just watching saw the scene where the woman threw the child.
How could they possibly believe her now? As soon as they saw her fall to the ground, someone angrily shouted, "This is a human trafficker, everyone get her! Beat her to death."
The people behind rushed forward and started beating her up.
The woman saw this and was terrified. She cried out on the ground, "Don't hit me, why are you hitting me? It really wasn't me, it really wasn't..."
However, everyone still rushed forward and beat her up until later when the police arrived.
Someone had already called the police, and they arrived quickly after hearing about it.
Seeing the chaos, the police rushed over to stop it.
"Alright, alright, what's going on here? Leave it to us."
Some of the crowd were still saying, "This is a trafficker, beat her to death!"
The police heard it was a trafficker, and they did intervene quite slowly, letting those people get a few more hits in before pulling them apart.
