Chapter 5 - Backstabbed & Brought to Live

In a dimly lit, enigmatic room, a young woman sat alone, clutching a dagger. The only source of illumination came from the flickering candles on the wall, casting eerie shadows on the stone floor. Another woman remained motionless, bound to the wall.

The lady with the dagger was filled with happiness and certainty. Suddenly, the sound of footsteps echoed in the hallway outside the room.

"The Queen has granted you full authority over Princess Lily. You must leave immediately for the other castle, where she will meet you," he informed, bowing before departing

In the fallen realm.

Lily, exhausted and weakened, could feel her time slipping away. She needed to repeat the incantation once more.

As she was about to start, she heard a sweet voice singing a familiar melody, but she couldn't quite recognize it. She joined in, singing along.

"Mmwa bu tata a gwara ndu goddess ba yemu e ye mu chorö." Suddenly, everything shattered and transformed. She could sense herself reaching out towards her physical form, and she succeeded.

Taking a deep breath, she opened her eyes, only to quickly shut them again. Something was amiss - she was bound. A woman stood before her, holding a dagger, her face obscured.

Since everyone believed she was still unconscious, Lily had to maintain the facade in order to discover the woman's intentions.

"Oh, my dear Lily, I regret to inform you that today is your last day. I wish you were awake to witness your own demise," she chuckled.

What! Is that Fiona's voice?" she thought to herself. "Why is she speaking in riddles? I can't understand what she is trying to say." Lost in her thoughts, she heard footsteps coming closer.

Fiona grabbed her sister's left cheek, causing Lily to feel pain and hiss.

Immediately, Fiona let go of her cheek.

"What? You were unconscious," she said. Lily opened her eyes and looked at Fiona, tears streaming down her face.

"Sister Fiona, what's happening? Why am I so chained up like this? Are you here to save me?" she asked, feeling scared.

"What a naive girl she is," Fiona thought to herself.

"Lily, you're just a naive and stupid girl. Can't you think? I am not here to save you or listen to your nonsense," she said, grabbing Lily's left cheek again, causing her to wince.

"You...you mean you want to kill me? But I am your sister Fiona. You can't kill me, I have done nothing wrong to you. Why are you trying to kill me?" Lily cried out.

"Shhh, don't cry. When I kill you, you won't cry anymore. You were right, you didn't do anything wrong, but you are my biggest threat in getting Lord Ariston for myself," Fiona said.

"You can have him, sister. Let's forget about this. I won't tell anyone. What happened?" Lily pleaded, while smiling.

"Fool, wake up! Don't be a fool. He was mine a long time ago. Now, goodbye," Fiona said.

While Lily vehemently shook her head, unwilling to accept the truth, she found it incredibly difficult to process.

She was not prepared to meet her end in this place, especially at the hands of her own sister, the

person she trusted more than anyone else.

Now, she desperately needed to liberate herself, but the fact that her hands were already bound to the wall posed a significant obstacle.

Despite exerting all her might, she struggled in vain to break free.

Ignoring any potential objections from Lily, Fiona callously plunged a knife into her heart, displaying a merciless smile.

Now that everything was done, she left the room without looking back.

In the dark, it was silent. Lily's lifeless body hung motionless.

Lily now understood that she was indeed a naive girl. Is this how her life was going to end? She saw her lifeless body and then saw herself being thrown out of the world of the living. Everywhere became dark, and she was alone again, as she had always been.

"Fiona, why have you done this to me? I had complete faith in you."

She muttered to herself, tears streaming down her face uncontrollably.

"If I ever have another chance at life, I vow to ensure you face the consequences," she wept, sensing her determination intensify.

Then, she noticed a red rose emitting a faint glow. She stood up and attempted to grasp the rose, but it evaded her reach.

Surprised, she was determined not to give up until she obtained the rose. Taking a chance, she closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and leaped towards it, successfully catching it.

Overwhelmed by its beauty, she could only caress and kiss the rose. Suddenly, the light intensified and transformed into a tall, slender figure with shimmering, ethereal wings.

Although the figure's face remained hidden, the princess felt a profound sense of comfort in its presence. "Greetings, child," the figure spoke in a gentle, sweet, otherworldly voice. "You are no longer alone."

She was speechless and pinched herself to confirm if she was really dead, and indeed she was.

"Child, my name is Adeline. I am here to help you through your journey." She said straight away.

"You have passed away, but thanks to the blessings of Mother, you have been granted a second opportunity to return to the realm of the living. From this point, I will provide a thorough explanation, although time is limited."

"Now, I request that you grasp my hand," Lily complied immediately. And just like that, she was back in her physical form. She felt a profound change, as everything around her had transformed and she possessed a newfound strength, emitting powerful energy.

Experiencing a mixture of joy and apprehension, she inquired, "Since the goddess has bestowed upon me a second chance, is there any specific action I should undertake?"

Adeline merely smiled. "Let us depart before anyone arrives." With a wave of her hand, she opened a portal to another location, and the two women vanished from sight.

Princess Fiona arrived at the second palace, which only her mother had access to.

"Dear, is everything done?" she asked, smiling.

"Everything is as you wanted it, Mother," Fiona rushed and hugged her mother. "It's time to celebrate, Mum. It's time to write down my history."

"Well said, dear, but we can't just celebrate. I need you to eat and rest," her mother hurriedly said.

"Okay, Mother," Fiona replied.

"Dear, in two days, you should get ready to meet your father. He must believe that Lily is dead," her mother said.

"And then I will have the chance to get Lord Ariston. Mother, you don't know how happy I am. This feels like a dream." She said smiling.

She immediately held her daughter's hand.

"And you made it come true, dear," she also smiled along with her.
