Omniscient P.O.V.
Feeling a bit embarrassed at being read easily by her mother, she responded evasively.
"Nothing. I'm fine."
Rolling her eyes, Liya suddenly crossed her arms below her heavy breasts and commented matter-of-factly.
"Brynhild Mikhailov, I've raised you for 25 years, do you really think I don't know when you're lying?"
No matter how old she became or how powerful, every time Bryn heard her mother call her by her full name, her body instantly tensed up.
It was not that Adeliya had ever been violent with her or her sister, but because Bryn knew that when her mother called her that way, she knew she had done something wrong, even if she may not have realized it right away.
Call it PTSD, though it came more from trust in her mother's judgment than from having experienced some sort of horrible trauma.
Back to the situation.
Seeing that her mother would not let go, Bryn let out a sigh and explained succinctly.
"I just feel a bit... I don't know. It's just that I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the whole... situation, I guess?"
Hearing her words, Demian, who had been quietly listening to the two, suddenly asked curiously.
"Are you having regret about bonding with me?"
If it had been before, the young man might not have minded too much, at most experiencing some disappointment.
But now?
Now, expectations had been built, and if she were to change her mind...
Well, let's just say he might have to act a bit more domineering, doing his best to convince her, even if it took hundreds or thousands of years to succeed.
There was no way in Hell he would let her go now that he accepted his own feelings for her, especially since he could tell she also had some special emotions for him.
Fortunately, his fear was quickly alleviated as Bryn's blushing cheeks rubbed gently against his shoulder before she replied curtly.
"Of course not."
Letting out an inward sigh of relief, Demian asked again.
"What is it then?"
Liya, who both knew her daughter well and was a woman herself, asked rhetorically.
"It's about Sera and me, isn't it?"
Immediately, the golden-skinned woman in Demian's embrace tensed before she let out a whisper.
"Maybe...?"
As Liya was about to say something to reassure her daughter, she was suddenly interrupted by Bryn's following words.
"I mean, it's not that I'm against sharing Dem with sis and you, Mom. It's just..."
Her cryptic explanation confused the other two, with Demian questioning.
"It's just what?"
Feeling some hesitation, the young woman felt torn.
Should she share her own fears with them, risking being looked down upon?
Weakness was something she had been running away from for so long, and quite successfully at that.
At least until now.
Now, however, she had to make a choice, unveiling her fragile side, leaving herself vulnerable to any potential criticism...
Sometimes, words and looks hurt much more than fists and swords...
Funny how, despite being so different in terms of personality, the mother and daughter were both so similar, though neither of them was aware of it.
Her hesitation, however, did not last long as she felt Demian's arms tighten around her body while a gentle whisper reached her ears.
"Bryn, Love, I'm not sure what's going on in your mind, but I want you to know that, no matter what it is, you can share it with me."
Pausing for a second, he then added.
"Even though my decision to bond with you and Liya may sound rushed, I can assure you that I've thought about it deeply. I'm ready to spend the rest of what I hope to be an endless life with Sera and you two, to share the good and support you during the bad."
Turning his head slightly in her direction, he gave her a light kiss on her temple and added.
"So, please. Tell me what's bothering you."
The sincerity in his tone made her shiver slightly, washing away most of her hesitation, and leaving her body feeling a slight sense of weakness.
Nonetheless, she was quick to explain.
"I was just worried that you wanted to bond with me because of pity and that your feelings for me were not as great as for Mom and Sera..."
Hearing herself say it, she felt a wave of embarrassment surge in her Heart.
Such a ridiculous fear, and she even said it out loud.
However, she felt no regret.
As the saying goes, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
If she wanted the man's trust and love, she needed to put the right amount of effort into their relationship, starting with being truthful herself, no matter how painful it was for her ego.
Of course, the longest journey started with the first step, and she was ready to 'fall' a few times before getting it right.
When Liya and Demian heard Bryn's explanation, they looked at each other with a speechless expression.
The silence was starting to drag on, which made the already insecure golden-skinned woman feel even more awkward.
Fortunately, Demian was quick to pick up on it and thus asked her, in an exasperated tone, incapable of completely hiding the slight disappointment in his voice.
"Is that how you see me? Do you really think I'd permanently bond my own Soul with a woman I don't love? That I would make distinctions between the three of you? Am I that shallow?"
Shaking his head, he added, this time his emotions being somewhat calmer.
"I won't pretend that every 'Love' is equal, but that's because the three of you are completely different. Each of you has your own qualities and funny quirks that make you so special. Saying I love you the same way would be like saying I view all three of you as the same person, and I clearly don't. But that also doesn't mean I love any of you less than the others."
Letting out a sigh, he continued.
"I know that it may sound a bit like a cop out answer, but I don't have a better one. I'm still exploring how I should treat the three of you now that you've chosen to become my women, and I can't guarantee I won't make mistakes. I may even act a bit unfairly at times, and I hope you'll forgive me for this."
As a playful smile settled on his lips, he added.
"Having a few wives at the same time is pretty new to me, after all, and since I want to make the three of you as happy as I can, the whole 'structure' is still a work in progress."
Shaking her head with an amused smile on her face, Liya remarked.
"You're not doing too badly for now, I'd say, darling."
Turning her head toward her own daughter, the redhead asked.
"I'm curious, honey. Why did you think Demian would love you less?"
As they say, what you fear will ultimately come.
Having confessed a part of her feelings, Brynhild thought she would not have to further embarrass herself, but it seemed like she had been wrong.
'Damn it, Mom! Couldn't you have just ignored that and moved on?'
She exclaimed inwardly, though she knew that complaining would lead nowhere.
Letting out an inward sigh, she decided to bite the bullet and tell the truth.
After all, the sooner she explained herself, the sooner it would be over.
While moving her gaze away from her mother's direction, she started to share with the two her feeling of inferiority when it came to her appearance, citing how she worried that her body was too masculine to fit Demian's taste in women.
As she finished her second 'confession', Demian let out his second exasperated sigh of the day before grabbing the golden-skinned woman and pushing her gently away from him.
Seeing the confused look on her face, he commented, his own expression complicated.
"Love, I apologize if I sound a bit mean, but I have to say that you're completely delusional. Actually, calling you delusional isn't even enough to describe how off you are."
His words made Bryn's mind freeze for a second, confused as to how she should respond to his insult-wrapped compliment.
Liya, however, burst into a fit of giggles, not helped by the clueless look on her daughter's face, with her laughter triggering captivating tremors in her chest area.
However, Demian had no mind to pay attention to the mature redhead's unwittingly seductive chest movements.
Instead, he gestured toward Bryn's body and remarked, leaving any shame aside.
"Just look at yourself. Your breasts are both big and shapely. Your toned ass would make most men, myself included, salivate upon sight. I could go on, describe how I find every part of your body attractive, from your strong muscles to your beautiful face, but at the end of the day, you just have to believe me when I say this..."
At that moment, his face was completely serious, especially as he continued while his large hands cupped her face.
"I love every part of you. Yes, you look different than most women. But then again, do you really want to look like most women? You are you, and I love you for it. Period."
