Chapter 20 - **Chapter 20 – First Assassination**

What stood in front of André was a gigantic object. To be clearer, it was the tip of an enormous object; what surprised André was the shape of this object.

What protruded from under the ground had the appearance of a spaceship cabin, of those that appear in science-fiction movies.

Why was André certain that this was a spaceship? Because he had countless knowledge of aeronautics in his mind and could easily recognize any spaceship, as long as the technology did not exceed three levels of his knowledge.

Just when André approached the ship, Orly followed him closely. When André had sufficient distance from his men, Orly suddenly pulled a dagger from among his clothes and took André hostage, placing it against his neck.

The soldiers accompanying André quickly drew their weapons and aimed at Orly, who reacted at once and shouted:

"Don't move if you don't want me to cut your lord's throat!"

The soldiers did not move, but they continued aiming at Orly, who spoke again:

"Clear the way quickly!"

"Do what he says." André winked at the captain of the escort team, who quickly took a step back, leaving Orly's perception.

Óscar was the best marksman in the entire army, which is why he had been selected for this escort mission. Everyone on this team was elite, so they understood Óscar's actions and immediately tried to draw Orly's attention.

The cave of this mine was barely visible; therefore Orly did not notice that someone was missing among the soldiers, who opened a path for his escape.

Outside the cave, Orly gave a warning:

"Don't follow me. If I feel that you are following me, I will kill him without hesitation."

Being dragged by Orly, André was calm and said:

"Overseer Orly, why are you doing this? I don't remember having offended you."

"It's not I who wants you dead, my lord. Someone paid very generously for your life," Orly mocked.

"Who is it? You could tell this to a dying man." André put on a reluctant face, making Orly hesitate to speak.

"Forget it. As your last wish, I will tell you: it was Baron Chase who ordered me."

"How much did they give you? I can give you double, you can be sure of it."

André's words made Orly hesitate again, but after thinking for a moment he said:

"For that I would have to have a life. I don't believe I will survive if I change sides at this moment. Not you, Lord Viscount; they will not let me go."

"It seems it is impossible for me to convince you." André said, and noticed a figure very close. Then he smiled secretly.

While they walked, André deliberately put his foot in a hole in the path and pretended to fall.

"Ah, ah, ah, it hurts a lot! I think I twisted my ankle," he shouted while bringing his hand to his ankle and rolling on the ground.

"There's no other choice. I wanted to take you and deliver you alive, but it seems this is as far as you go, my lord." Orly readied his dagger and was ready to stab André.

Just at that moment someone kicked his hand, causing the dagger to fly into the darkness. Orly was stunned: at what moment had they followed him? But he had no time to react and felt himself being thrown into the air, followed by a strong pain throughout his body.

"Don't kill him" was the last thing Orly heard before losing consciousness.

A few minutes earlier

Óscar silently followed Orly, who was holding André. He could not pounce on him because it could put André in greater danger.

He only followed him as closely as possible for any eventuality.

While following him, Óscar heard what his lord was saying to the overseer. In this closed environment everything could be heard clearly.

He was surprised to hear that Baron Chase was the traitor and focused again, waiting for an opportunity.

Suddenly he saw that his lord fell to the ground, causing Orly to become distracted. Without hesitation, he knew that was his opportunity. Seeing that Orly was ready to stab André, he immediately kicked his hand.

Then he grabbed him by the arm and threw him down with a strong blow to the ground, causing him to lose consciousness and leaving him ready to be executed.

"Don't kill him."

Óscar stopped and waited for instructions.

Present time

"Don't kill him."

André stopped pretending and stood up at once. Then he looked at the unconscious Orly.

"Give me your weapon."

Óscar did not hesitate and gave him his revolver. Then he tied Orly and sat him on the ground.

André approached Orly and gave him a few slaps, making the latter regain consciousness.

Upon seeing the situation in which he found himself, Orly entered into panic and said:

"My lord, please don't kill me. I know there are more people who are allied with Baron Chase. If you let me live, I promise to find it out for you."

André gave him a kick in the face and said:

"You really gave me a scare. I should have been more careful. Thank God you are the typical villain who dies from talking too much."

"What…?" Both Orly and Óscar did not understand what André meant, and the latter did not explain.

"Bang, bang, bang!"

Three shots rang out and Orly could not be more dead. André gave him two shots in the chest and one in the face.

André felt a little nauseous, but he did not vomit. After all, it was his first time killing someone, both in this life and in his previous one.

"Let's go." André took the lead; he already had the path in his mind.

Continuing without worrying about Orly's body, this insignificant man until the moment of his death had no value whatsoever, besides giving André a warning not to be too confident.

Returning to the cave, the soldiers were ready to go out in groups of two to carry out a search. They were relieved upon seeing their lord's return.

"You have done a good job." André congratulated everyone for how they handled the matter. Then he approached the supposed spaceship.

"Let's see what you have," and thus began his analysis.
