Selina was bleeding.
There was a long cut across the outside of her left arm, from the elbow nearly to the shoulder. It wasn't deep, but it was the first time Alex had ever seen anybody cut her. She was still holding the spear the same way. The X was still pointed at the sky.
Arthur stood five steps away with blood on his sword.
"Kid," Selina said, without taking her eyes off him. "Stay out of this."
"He's going to KILL you!"
"No, he isn't." She shifted her feet. "He's going to try."
'Going to TRY,' Alex thought. 'She says that like it's a GOOD thing! Luna, is that okay? Is she okay?'
'Watch her feet, Lexie.'
Arthur came in again.
He was faster now, or she was slower. The sword went past her ribs, and she turned it on the shaft. It came back across at her neck, and she ducked, and the blade took a lock of hair off the end of her ponytail. Then his free hand came up, open, and two of his fingers touched her wrist.
