Chapter 131 - Purpose?

Yin sat in one of the booths overlooking the Guild from above. One of the S class privilidges was access to the upstairs section. A place where the dangerous missions, magics and a smaller bar with exotic drinks.

It had been years since the S rank exam where her, Yang, Irene and Ur passed their exam and became S class mages. The time wasn't spent idling but it was far less intense than what she was doing back on Remnant. Their time was spent sparring, going on missions, going on dates, fucking a Dragon Goddess and learning about magic. They had spent six years there and their time was nearing its end.

But something was bugging her. The message she received after boosting Ruin to the next level.

[Congatulations. You have taken a step on your destined path. has evolved. With this power, comes a responsibility. Find out your greater purpose in the balance of all things. A Beast destroys all it touches. A God chooses exactly what to destroy]

She had talked to Yang about it but the message remained the same. There was only one direction it pointed to. And that was thanks to a quest it gave her shortly after the message.

[Quest commencing. Back to where it began: Return to your first dungeon.]

And that needed to wait until she returned. For now, she waited, learned and honed her skills with Yang.

Of course, some other developments happened in the background of it all too. Yang saving Lisanna from getting yeeted to Edolas. Laxus, Erza, Ultear and Mirajane passing the S rank exams the year prior. Natsu, Wendy, Sting and Rogue getting sent their Exceed, much to Gajeel's and Yang's disappointment. Last but not least, the despair of the male members of the Guild due to Ultear and Erza openly competing for Yin's affection while Mirajane tried her best to flirt with Yang.

Yin could spot the oldest Strauss sister being hyped up by Elfman and Lisanna to confess at the bar. While Yang was teaching Wendy how to properly punch and kick not far from their table.

"You seem pretty distracted. Anything I need to worry about?" Yin felt her warm hand rubbing her forearm before spotting Irene sit next to her.

"Nope. Just thinking. This period of peace is gonna end as soon as a busty blonde comes in with Natsu." Yin shrugged, feeling Irene's fingers dance up her arms, feeling out her toned biceps and triceps with a total lack of shyness she had six years prior.

Irene had been getting more bold with them after Erza turned into an adult. But nothing had been actually done yet. As there was one glaring issue. Both Mother and Daughter pined after the same woman.

Irene rolled her eyes, "You're interested in this girl too?"

"Nope. That's Natsu's future wife. I drilled enough into his head where he'll be able to figure out how Lucy feels. When the time's right anyway." Yin huffed in amusement. Feeling Irene's jealousy, she reached up and played with her crimson locks.

"You don't need to be jealous. Though I think some possessiveness is just part of being a Dragon, we do have a special bond between us, Irene. You share my blood. Things are a bit more complicated with our situations. I don't mind having you for myself and Yang. But you're hesitant because of Erza." Yin stated, feeling Irene sigh as she rest her head against her shoulder.

"I don't want to ruin the good relationship it took so long to build. Everything's perfect now. Well.. almost." Irene muttered.

"You should have an honest discussion with Erza. Even as inexperienced and curious about love as she is, she deserves a real talk about expectations. Love between us can be shared. But it would never be like the love between Yang and I. We could never be 'soulmates'. If she can handle that and the fact that she'd be seeing the same woman as her Mother? Then she can choose."

Irene hummed in agreement. Then turned to look up at Yin through her bangs.

"When'd you get so wise about this stuff?"

Yin shrugged, "I'm twenty-three now. Adults should be honest with their feelings. Save the Tsundere avoiding feelings and the status quo garbage to teenagers."

Irene wanted to object but she knew Yin was right.

"When Erza returns, I'll have a conversation with her.." Irene muttered.

"You're not the only ones in this dilemma, if that makes you feel better. Mirajane's had the hots for Yang for a while. Yang knows too but we've agreed we should let them gather their courage and recognize their feelings all on their own."

Irene silently agreed, slipping Yin's drink out of her hand and taking a small sip, purposefully leaving a prominent lipstick mark on the rim. Then, with a little smirk, she handed it back as she licked her lips.

"A Dragonfruit cocktail? Funny. Did you do that on purpose?" Irene asked, lips curling up as Yin put her lips to the same spot she did and took a sip of her own.

"Believe it or not-" ""We're back!!""

Yin stopped, looking down as Natsu and Happy strode in. Behind them, Lucy walked in, eyes wondrously looking everywhere.

"Heya!" A few of the Guild members greeted them, drinking/eating/talking at their tables.

"You really went all out this time!

I heard Hargeon was-!" Krov, a buck toothed mage Yin only remembered because he oversaw some of the booze supplies, was quickly kicked in the face by an annoyed Natsu.

Yin tuned the chaos out and hummed as she watched Lucy studder and freak out a little.

"So that's her? She doesn't look or feel that impressive." Irene stated, head resting on Yin's shoulder.

"She's a Celestial Mage. Her summons do the heavy lifting. Not a magic I'm particularly interested in. As you know, Yang and I are incapable of learning a few magics. Most of them just don't interest us or grates against our Draconic pride. Like take-over magic for instance." Yin explained, letting Irene's hands roam her toned belly.

"Well your bodies are something you should be proud-" Irene stopped, looking down as a fight broke out that dragged in some of the more boisterous Guild members such as Loke, Gray, Natsu, Elfman, Ultear, Simon, Gajeel and somehow, Jellal.

What made her pause was the chair that flew at an unsuspecting Wendy. Luckily, Yang swatted it away without even looking. But that was enough to spur Irene into action.

"One moment.. I need to pummel some misbehaving children."

"You mean 'discipline'?" Yin grinned.

"I know what I said." Irene huffed, walking down the stairs and hitting Gray with a left hook to the face that launched him into the ceiling.

"Oh crap... Run! Irene's mad!" One of the member's shouted, but he too was launched into the ceiling.

"W-Wait.. can we talk about this!? At least let me put my clothes back o-Agh!" Gray shot up, head going clean through the roof.

Then another, and another. And even one by stander.

"W-Woah... Irene. One of the strongest enchanter Wizards.. and she occasionally ends up on Sorcerer Weekly..." Lucy muttered to herself as Mirajane walked over from behind the bar.

"A-And the Demoness Mirajane too!?" Lucy's eyes widened comedically.

"Oh hello. Are you looking to join the Guild?" Mirajane asked, brow raised as she carried a tray of juice and mead over to Yang, who handed the juice to a sweaty Wendy.

"U-Uh... yeah? I mean- yeah! I am." Lucy stated, more confident the second time.

Then she noticed Yang and her jaw dropped.

"I-Is that Yang? Yang Xiao Long? One of the legendary 'Fairy Tail's Strongest'?" Lucy asked, shaking in awe and anxiousness.

Mirajane studied her expression for a moment and nodded with a 'kind' smile.

"Oh yeah! Here, I'll introduce you. Yang!" Mirajane called out as Yang chugged her sweet mead down and looked over at them both, cheeks bulging with the alchoholic beverage.

"Mmmfh?" *Gulp~*

"You have a fan it seems. She mentioned the title you, Yin, Irene and Gildarts have."

Yang licked her lips and tilted her head in confusion.

"Oh..! Remember that interview you did with Yin in Crocus?" Wendy pulled her sleeve and asked, already knowing Yang had no idea what she was talking about.

"Oh! Oh yeah! They gave us a group name? I kinda wish it'd be cooler. Like 'The Dragons and the Drunkle'" Yang grinned.

Mirajane and Wendy snickered. A lot of people in the Guild had viewed Gildarts as some kind of Uncle. And between Yin and Yang, they joked about him being their Uncle's long lost ginger brother. So, they started calling him Drunkle and now the entire Guild did it.

"Eh? Oh! Because you use Dragon slayer magic! I saw Natsu's back in Hargeon.." Lucy scratched the back of her head with a sheepish smile.

*CRASH!*

The first human ornament stuck in the ceiling to fall was Natsu, who fell on his ass and groaned. Then he stood up and shook his head at Lucy and looked at her as if she was crazy.

"Nah, big Sis Yang and Yin's magic can't be compared to the kind we use. As much as I hate to say it. Also, they're real Dragons." Natsu stated with a smug smirk, not noticing Yin behind him until she leaned her arm over his head.

"I keep tellin' ya, Natsu. Nobody believes ya." Yin teased, smirking as he grumbled.

For a few years now, the Dragonslayers had tried to convince the Guild that Yin and Yang were both Dragons. Even a few among the Tenrou Island attendees doubted. So there was a betting pool set up between Yin, Yang, Makarov, Gildarts and Irene about when that secret would be exposed. The only rule is that the twins can't just transform unless it's a situation that requires it. And if a situation requires them to transform, then there's bigger stakes than the bet involved.

"Yeah... they don't look like big scary Dragons to me. Sorry, Natsu." Lucy's words immediately made Natsu's shoulders sag.

"Anyway.. why'd you go thinking Igneel was this 'Salamander' anyway? Salamanders are fat geckos, Natsu. Igneel would be offended if he heard you thought he was this 'Salamander'." Yin smirked as she saw Natsu freeze up and turn pale.

"Maybe don't tell him when he comes back, yeah?" Natsu pleaded.

Yin shrugged and Natsu relaxed. Unkown to him though, Igneel had heard him from inside him and swore to give his son a good flick to the head for the insult.

But before he could relax for long, Natsu was pummeled into the floorboards by Makarov after Yin took a step back.

"You idiot! Do you have any idea how much paperwork the council sent me!? Oh and all the complaints! All you guys ever do is get the council mad at me.." Makarov shook his fist, magic shaking the floorboards out of what Yin, Yang and Irene knew was purely for theatrics.

"However.." Then the shaking stopped and Makarov tossed the papers behind him haphazardly, immediately breaking Lucy out of her nervousness.

"To hell with the council!" Makarov declared, hearing the Guild cheer raucously, enough to dislodge the human darts shoved through the ceiling and send them crashing down.

"Listen up! Power that surpasses reason

is still born from reason. Magic is not a miraculous power. It is only realized when

the flow of energy inside usand the flow of energy in the natural world come into perfect sync! Magic comes from mental strength and focus- nay, it comes from your entire soul!" Makarov stood atop the bar and delivered a speech with more enthusiasm than a failed Austrian painter.

"Worry about the eyes watching from high above and you will make no progress in the ways of magic! Don't let the fools on the council scare you! Follow the path you believe in! That's what Fairy Tail wizards do!" He finished, grabbing his mug and downing it in one gulp, prompting the rest of the Guild to cheer and start to drink too.

Yin and Yang shared a look and an almost wistful smile. They both knew they were going to miss being here. The Guild was just impossible to hate. So they'd enjoy every second, until they returned home.

[AN: FT arc is nearing its end. But they've learned a lot and grown in a good environment. Lemme know what you think should be a dungeon reward. Also, stone me like I'm a sinner in the ancient Middle East~]
